Hi all. My SoA will be due for the 28th day on the 1st of June. Can I go ahead and pay my IHS/ViSA Fees today or tomorrow or I should wait until 2nd of June?

I want to secure a Biometrics date on time (Abj).

Please how do I go about this? I uploaded my WAEC result but seems they didn’t accept only that for English proof. How do I get the document asked?

Get an English proficiency letter from your Alma Mater attesting that you were taught in English language during your undergraduate studies. I believe this would suffice.

Someone made a comment as regards Nottingham Trent university demanding for IELTS, I can't find it to quote and reply back, but if you are reading this, I was also given a conditional offer from NTU, for September 2022 and was asked to present my IELTS result, I sent them a mail that I'm not taking the Exam, they can use my WAEC in place, I got a response to send a scarchcard to verify my WEAC, so if you are very much interested in NTU, you can send them a mail to wave the IELTS. I don't think I'm still interested .

I have a conditional offer in NTU too. I sent them my NECO (2005) result and English language proficiency attestation from my university I got last year. Ain't sending any scratch card for whatever verification. If they are not convinced with the proficiency letter they should keep their offer.

They need me as much as I need them. Lol...

First, you need to understand what PCR is.
I see you have named yourself ‘molecular scientist’. That nomenclature may hoodwink a few, but professionals in the field will know that you are just blowing hot air.

With your HCPC registration, and molecular lab experience, the NHS would be a good place to start.
If it’s PCR that is sweeting you, don’t worry. You can do PCR in any hospital lab speciality, except maybe histology.
If you ask me, your HCPC reg is more than the masters degree.

PCR is sweeting me, lol. All thanks to Covid. Is Scotland a good place to start? I got admission in Glasgow Caledonian Uni to study Medical Bioscience (MSc). Thank you for the heads up

Good day comrade.

Please I sincerely need your candid advice.

I am a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.

I intend going for further studies in the UK. I got admission to study MSc Biomedical Science in Nottingham Trent Uni. Also, got another MSc to study Medical Bioscience in Glasgow Caledonian Uni. I'm still awaiting decision for offer in Molecular Microbiology from Sheffield Hallam Uni and Biomedical Science in Hull.

Here in Nigeria, I work as a Molecular Scientist. Which of these offers should I pursue?

One, as one who has already gotten HCPC.
Two a Molecular Scientist
Three, a "Nigerian" who would sure need to survive. I just want to top up my learning with a MSc as I graduated since 2013.

I'm not keen about doing routine lab practices in Haem, biochemistry, micro etc

@omopapa and others, kindly assist.

Just to increase my chances of getting selected for the course, I studied tourism and hospitality management for my bsc, and then the only proof of English I have is my neco and waec, and it's over ten years.
I would appreciate any assistant pls.
I have applied to some couple of schools for direct msc about 8 of them but I have not heard anything yet, just want to explore the option of premasters.
Thanks

If you have a 2.1 and reasonably related SW work experience, you would get admission. Just wait for the outcome of those schools.

PH office is a cesspool of corruption, so going the DIY route is frustrating, tiring and for those in no hurry. Renewal takes 3wks (official statement) but be prepared to wait a month plus for DIY and u must pay commitment fee or else your file will be left unattended. Express cost between 50-70k (all passport) and can be gotten within 72hrs after capturing. Speaking from my experience.

Please can I have your contact person in PH?

I would be traveling from Warri to PH for this course. I want to renew my Int'l pp which will expire in June. Regards.

If you have time on your side, please process it in Nigeria before you travel.

My vignette is also in a passport expiring in April this year.I did a bit of research about how long it takes to process it at the Nigerian Embassy in London and was informed that it may take 4 to 6 months because of backlog of applications arising from Covid.

Since there was a lot of uncertainty which meant I would not be able to travel without a passport while in the UK, I processed the new one in Nigeria and received it within 8 days.

Which passport office and how much?

The guidelines say after the 1st pcr test that comes back positive, one until the next 3 months could still continue to test positive and so there is no need to repeat a pc… And then even going on and on relentlessly. If you say lateral flow test, yes but REPEATED pcr is rather unecessary . Sorry to those affected.

PCR is the gold standard test. People should take medications and run their tests after some days depending on the CT value of the test results though.

The HCPC registration is the ticket to land a job as a biomedical scientist in the UK so yeah they shld go ahead to make the payment.

Coming to the UK to study will give them better chance at applying for jobs even tho they can apply from Nigeria when registered. Also most of the courses available for them will require their physical presence in the UK

Thank you Omopapa

In addition, how possible is it to get a visiting visa to the UK to attend the 3 - 4 weeks training by Labmed, leveraging on this training to get a job faster? Will this option fly?
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 5 by noblealuu: 3:27pm On Jun 21, 2021
@omopapa, what's your counsel to someone who's at the verge of being registered with HCPC? He'll be making payment for the verification any moment from now. His target is to be in the UK from January next year in order to get a job after the registration with IBMS. He's a licenced medical lab scientist with PCR Molecular experience in CoVid19.

Is it advisable I tell him to go for a 1 yr MSC course in order to use this period to land a job with the NHS? If yes, what are the possible courses that could give him a soft landing?

Thank you.

This is the mediocrity we are talking about. Square pegs in round holes have kept the country in retrogressive governance. Having people who don't know the whims and caprices of legislature occupy the green chamber leaves much to be desired.
