Its possible only through special delivery which cost a lot more, though i rather use bank transfer or physical delivery

Yes I get your point, but in my case it was more cost effective opt for that option even with using special delivery as the special delivery cost £65 than changing with with any physical delivery outlets due to the exorbitant rate.

Opt A
Exchange rate was £1 to $1.37 (As at then because it is determined by the official exchange rate)
$4000 = £2919 - £65 = £2854

Opt B( Physical Outlet)
Exchange rate goes around £1 to $1.45 to $1.5
$4000 = £2758 to £ 2667

In those scenario I discovered I could save more than £100 especially when the special delivery comes with insurance package of the money sent.

Go for manual bro.

With your manual license your are allowed to drive automatic but you are not allowed to drive manual with your automatic license
DeeOneBangin:

Baba which license would you advice. Do I go for manual or automatic? I just passed the theory test and I wanna start taking driving lessons.

Back in naija I started driving with manual, but in the last 8 years all my cars have been automatic.

I have no issues driving anyone but I just need suggestions.

All about demographics and perception.
The challenger banks are more popular with the younger/savvy generation, while the elderly generation, the ones who like to write long letters and carry passbooks and so forth, have no interest in banking by app without a branch manager to go and rake at from time to time. However, the challenger banks don't offer credit facilities (they may start to do so at some point, Starling Bank just bought up a mortgage provider and Chase says it has plans to offer full banking services), so it does make sense to open accounts with one or more established banks with an eye to the future.

For the rest, they're all the same, your money is as safe in Monzo as it is in Barclays, all banks have the same 85k deposit insurance guarantee, and with the rate at which the high street banks are closing branches these days, they might end up as digital as Starling or Monzo one day.

Thanks . Smooth as always grin. There is just that Nigerian side that wants to see the bank some times when you pass. grin

But I am keeping my Monzo for as long as they want to keep me. I like the ease and confidence that I can do more.

Good evening, house.

Does a UK-born child from a Tier 2 parent automatically become a UK citizen?

If not, what's the process for achieving citizenship for UK-born immigrants?

Thanks

Based on my understanding, the child is a tier 2 dependant and the process of achieving citizenship status would be in line with the parent.

By the bolded I mean I don't wanna work elsewhere apart from PCR lab.

First, you need to understand what PCR is.
I see you have named yourself ‘molecular scientist’. That nomenclature may hoodwink a few, but professionals in the field will know that you are just blowing hot air.

With your HCPC registration, and molecular lab experience, the NHS would be a good place to start.
If it’s PCR that is sweeting you, don’t worry. You can do PCR in any hospital lab speciality, except maybe histology.
If you ask me, your HCPC reg is more than the masters degree.

Not automatically, but the kids can skip the ILR phase and apply for naturalisation as soon as any of their parents gets ILR. You also don't need to include them as your dependants if there are no plans to take them out of the UK untill you or your other half gets ILR.

once parents get their ILR, they could then directly apply for the Uk born child’s citizenship.
fill out the online form called MN1.
The form is pretty straight forward however you need to provide a reference.
Have a look on www.gov.uk of those that can be referees. REFEREES examples
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/british-nationals-nationality-policy-guidance

You will need the following for the online form:
1. How does the referee know the applicant
2. Referee's date of birth
3. Referee's daytime telephone number
4. Referee's email address
5. Is the referee a British Citizen
6. Current British citizen passport number
You need 2 referees.
The child’s nursery manager can help. The acceptable list of people is long so this should not be a problm. Explain your situation to them and give a print out of the form MN1 and highlight the sections which needs to be filled.
Then transcribe that information from the form to the online application. Submit the application and pay. Check below for fees.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fees-for-citizenship-applications/fees-for-citizenship-applications-and-the-right-of-abode-from-6-april-2018
Also parents will need to upload documents onto the UKVCAS portal - just the essential documents like: child’s birth certificate, their current passport and parents BRPs which mention ILR.
Next book biometricz appointment. After biometrics day, go and wait. Wait for decision letter in post which will state the child is now a British Citizen . This is just the 1st part.

2nd part. This is after successful decision letter.
APPLY FOR BRITISH PASSPORT:
Once you have received the citizenship letter, you have to apply for a British passport.
https://www.gov.uk/apply-renew-passport
Unfortunately, you will need a referee again. Good luck

What are the options of a single mum resident and living in Nigeria while the baby daddy is resident and citizen of UK and have refused to support the child since birth? He’s employed and takes care of his other children( the reason the Nigerian lady broke up with him was that she found out abt the other children mid way into her pregnancy)
He have not called or sent any kobo since the birth of his son who is 5 yrs now. The lady didn’t stop him or change address or numbers , she is willing for them to co-parent in peace since day 1. His family knows about the lady and the son but have not also been of any financial help to the single mother. They only want to see the son which she tries her best to do video calls, chats often with them cuz they live in different cities

The family section should be the best place to table this matter. This thread is for immigrants in the UK.

It’s not a family case. Am looking for inputs from ppl living in UK on how best or worse to make the child’s father, to be in and contribute in the child’s life, legally. The family section is 97% Nigerians living in Nigeria, there opinion can’t pay the boys school fees or help the lady in any way
