it is not a good practice to add to AC gas that is already in the system even if you are using the same type of gas and the same brand of ac gas. The reasons being that the system can be overcharged or still undercharged except when you use specialized tools. For there to be shortage of AC gas in the system, it is a strong indication that there is leakage in the system. It is better to fix the leakage first before loading new gas into the system. Whenever there is less cooling in your car AC it is not always shortage of AC gas issue, ignorance of this has made many car owners to cause more damages to their car AC system, because they simply branch any AC shop or road side gas fillers to top the gas for their car ac not knowing they are causing more damages that will cost them more money. Your best decision whenever you see less cooling from your car AC system is to locate a trusted and competent AC repair garage and have the system properly diagnosed. Whenever I am sending any of my AC technician out to diagnose in customers offices or home or outside Lagos I equip them with the necessary tools and information, in our own garage, we combine experiences from more than three AC technicians on ground backed up with modern Auto AC repairs tools.

If i dont use the AC at all for a long time, say 7 months, will I lose gas (refrigerant)? cos it happened to me recently after along time of not using the AC ..the weather is harsh now I turned it on and it wasn't chilling at all. So I took the car to a local ac guy who plugged in a guage and it read somtin 120 on the guage..whatever that was...he topped it up and sprayed water on the condenser and cooling began....event of 5 days ago & its been chilling since then.
I hope we never spoil anything?

Its factory fitted..206 comes majorly in Tu3, Tu5 and very few EW10 engines.

Same 206 i used from dambatta to Kano Secretariat or dambatta to NESREA office a journey of 150km with trailer and cracked uneven highway and I have never fell in the bush or inside the river. I throttle steady at 120km and the shocks has never failed me with all the occasional gbaga gbaga.

same car I buy 500naira fuel when pump price was 97 @ reserve and after the journey still above reserve.

Which is even cheaper... considering the unreliability of the Peugeot auto transmission.

with recommended automatic transmission fluid, the auto is very reliable.
if you drop N2000 abro or whatever into the gearbox ofcos gear won't be reliable. Those who're passionate about peugeot cars must be ready for high maintenance culture.
My AL4 automatic gearbox has been good, recently I flushed out the old fluid and replaced with fresh recommended ATF from PAN.

This is almost the price of a tokunbo 307. Is yours recently bought? also post picture of the engine bay. thanks.

These peugeot cars are cheap cars with high maintenance culture...All the phases are good, however the phase II have complex systems.
Before buying a peugeot car, check if you have a peugeot guru around you, if not don't buy abeg!

We peugeot lovers are hoping and anticipating that more Peugeot technicians would spring up.
The problem usually start when the lions have issues and there are no available tech to attend to them. They usually end up in kazims yard who would probably worsen the case!

the automatic drive of that engine is slow and less fuel economical. if you're a speed person, you will have to throttle down to get the speed you want thus fuel suffers. The manual is more responsive. However, the 307 with EW10 engine is good both for auto and manual. fast and safe.

pls i take God beg you, that 2008 Peugeot 307 is phase II, new model with more electricals. It is very delicate and volatile. Any abuse to that car will escalate stories that touch the heart. These cars are not meant for most Nigerians (kazim patroniserz).

a (non abused) peugeot 206 is fuel economically great. even the 1.6L engine that i drive on a daily basis gives 10L/120km city drive with mad traffic.

there other cars that are fuel efficient as well.
