There is more to business than trading in shops that is the the fact that small chest beating minds fail to grasp.Anyway The logic of your thread is funny .Based on Ibos being dominant n Ladipo they are great businessmen. Did you visit the cattle market and see Ibos there what about the Onions and tomato market or the Foreign Exchange market. Are they the ones loading tankers at Apapa? Do they run the money market or the stock exchange. Traders sell what others make. They are much lower down the food chain. Ladipo sells second car parts whch come from butchered vehicle rejects from Europe sent home by hustling Niigerians. They also sell made to other fakes from India and China. This is not the kind of business to be chest beating about. It is not how many but how big. If you are lookin for businessmen look for the Dangotes and the Adenugas and Otedolas and Alakijas Look for people who MAKE things like Obagun of Onward press. Yes there are Ibo businessmen but they are not in Ladipo. There is a difference between a TRADER and a businessman
I think you have some points there, but you cannot ignore the activities of these traders and how they are the ones making the dangotes going forward. Without distributors I dont think dangote will make a headway. However, the activities of these traders have kept them business and that is why they should be called businessmen, cos from their activities money change hands, as well continues to alleviate poverty among them. Though, they might not be involved in all the places you mentioned but the fact remains that they are directly or indirectly in the equation and hence their relevancy in the economy of Nigeria! And moreover, most of these "top businessmen" who are into manufacturing started like the ones in Ladipo, so they are businessmen, that is the way I see it.
TravelRe: Which Country Do You Wanna Immigrate To, And Why? by noblejames: 3:31pm On Apr 09, 2015
I will migrate from Onitsha to Lagos and from there to Abuja then turn to Portharcourt and finally retire back to Aba. For holidays, I will travel to Jos, and then turn to Calabar... If going outside too hungry me, then I will go to Kenya and Ethiopia, these places no one will discriminate you and see you as nothing. There is no place like Nigeria, There is no snow, no winter, no hurricane, no tornado, no bizarre weather, no earthquake, no mudslide or landslide, no sand storm. The temperature is very comfortable, 29 degree room and if is too hot 33 outside. In fact I want to tell you that oyibo people are thinking if it is possible they can exchange our country for theirs. The problem and disaster we have is corruption and the failure to see beyond our nose. Infact if we can work hard and build Nigeria as suppose, all these oyibo people will queue up to collect green card and citizenship in Nigeria! No be lie!
PoliticsRe: Ohanaeze gives Oba of Lagos 48 hours to withdraw threat to Igbos by noblejames:
And one wonders why Nigeria is the way it is... Do we really deserve to be one Nigeria if this kind of statement could be nattered from a putative statesman and a pivot of traditional values. Why abusing a whole tribe for your selfish gain? This is democracy and people should have the right to belong to any party as well as vote for any candidate of their choice. This kind of incendiary statement belittles the position of this traditional ruler , it shows that his mental capacity is too petty to handle what it takes to be an Oba. However, I implore all Nigerians to ignore this man and his statement because for the fact that he is called an Oba does not really mean that he is wise, some oafs can inherit positions.

If we have had people like Jonathan on all our political strata since the inception of democracy in Nigeria, Nigeria would have become a better place to be. Jonathan is the unsung hero and should be honored for the step he has taken, just this step alone has saved hundreds if not thousands of lives in Nigeria this period of time.

naijafresh:
The only credible thing GEJ did in his political career as president he did at the end ie 'set the platform for change'

He lost the biggest opportunity in his life to go beyond this.
In a nutshell he benefited no one but the cabals backing him, who hiding behind him who cleverly hid their looting tracks so they could blame it all including this election failure on GEJ. He was the archetypal figure head and a failure on many fronts whether it was corruption, the economy or security or simply strong leadership.

GEJ did create opportunity but only for the lootocrats, he created more millionaires than any other president did. Indeed PDP became the personal development party for those with the right connections. But all this came at a price, for every billionaire he created he pushed 1 million Nigerians below the poverty line

The people have spoken, many will indeed be happy to see him go, including his PDP paymasters as he was nothing short of an embarrassment.

Hopefully PDP can pick up from the ruins and provide what Nigeria needs, a strong and credible opposition

What a sad ending
It is never a sad ending! He is the only hero in this election, the man who said yes when it matters most. It takes a hero's heart to concede defeat in order to save life. Unlike what happened in 2011 people lost their lives and properties because a man lost an election. Meanwhile, how well or bad he performed will be defined by the incoming government but I see no significant changes coming because the same looters are around and Buhari cannot escape their gimmicks.
Christianity EtcRe: 4 Lies The Church Taught Me About Sex by noblejames: 10:32am On Dec 28, 2014
Op I sense deception in your write-up. Is like you are regretting being a virgin till the day of your wedding. If you are asked to stop holding hands it is correct because one thing leads to another, and not everybody can withstand some ugly urges that come through holding hands and robbing it. You may ask yourself why some people easily fall in a slightest sexual advancement from the opposite sex and why some remain strong. For this reason in order to help the weak ones, such gestures like holding of hands should be discouraged. I understand that op you might be that strong woman that cannot easily fall, but know this, all women are not like you, they are the ones the church is teaching these preventive measure to and I hope very many of them can testify that it really help them stay in faith till their wedding day. Please women anything that can help you stay till that day, do go for it, dont follow the op suggestions, they are an aberration to the right teaching.

I'm Ibibio, guess what? My father speaks fluent Igbo even though he never stepped foot in the SE when he learned it. All he said was it was spoken pre-civil war in the old Cross River state; which includes today's Akwa Ibom. My point is Igalas and Igbos are bothers, same with ibibios and many other tribes in SS, all have Igbo ancestry. Explain why you can hardly differentiate between Igbos, most SS and some North Central(Benue and Kogi) by physical appearance alone. You can easily mistake Gov. AKpabio, Gov. Imoke, Sen. David Mark, Gov. Suswan, Gov. Ameachi, Pres. Jonathan, Peter Odili as Igbos by their physical traits, but can never mistake them for Yoruba or Hausa as their physical traits differ a lot by long margin. So most of us look alike...boils down to same parentage! Most Yoruba will see me and call me Omo Igbo, until I speak Ibibio till they get it I'm not Igbo.lol!

To the OP: One thing you must know is Igbo people are very accommodating of other tribes, I have lived among them, they scare nor fear no one. They are confident in themselves, their abilities and don't see other tribes as a threat. Be appreciative that some stations and channels allot some time for Igala broadcast when Igala only constitute less thn 5% of the population. That's a huge magnanimity on the Igbos I would say. I don't know of any Abuja local channels or Radio stations that speaks Gwarri or Nupe for the real natives of the land. They have all be acculturated as northerners.
That is why people from cross River and Akwa Ibom succeeds in Igboland, they are always at home. All Akwa ibom citizens that I have met in abroad have greater understanding of who Igbos are and are always there as brothers. They see Igbos as their own unlike people from Rivers state especially the Ikweres who dislike Igbos though they speak Igbo language and answer Igbo names. The hostility from Rivers state knows no boundary sometime I wonder why? Think the people of Rivers state should learn from Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers…. The fact is that you cannot differentiate Igbos from the rest south south people. That was why Nyako called Jonathan an Igboman. And truly he an Igboman just like the way we regard anybody from north hausa.

The world's greatest growing religion is Agnosticism.

As knowledge grows, and prosperity multiplies more people are relying less on God. Rather they rely on processes that guarantee constant results. Yet,no spiritual involvement.[/quote]If this is what you do,then you are seeing things from the wrong! I suggest you forget about the result and think about the means of the result. Whatever you try as much as you can to pivot around God, and you will get the best result out of it.
Christianity EtcThe Probable Reasons Why Islam Continues To Soar! by noblejames(op): 10:11pm On Sep 11, 2014
The claim by Muslims that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world is an undisputable fact. It is an agreeable fact that in the western world today we have more Muslims than we use to have few decades ago. The populations of Muslims in the Middle-east and all Asian countries, China inclusive has continued to rise steadily and in African the story is not different. The growth of Islam in recent decades has been attributed to many undeniable factors that have helped propel its influence in these areas mentioned. While other religious bodies are appalled by the use of these methods as means of expansion Muslims have gaudily apply these means and is working and yielding results for them.
Below are some of the means:

1. Jihad: The word jihad means striving in the way of God, that is resisting and struggling against anything that is not of Islam; and ultimately makes that entity to bow or be subjected to the ideologies of Islam by any means possible. The prophet of Islam initiated this kind of war and he used it to expand his territories those days. This system was instilled in the Islamic holy book to encourage all Muslims to participate in Jihad, and by it the followers and successors of Mohammad followed his footsteps and conquered places throughout the Middle-east and Asian, Africa and some part of Europe. The viciousness and brutality of these jihad wars on the life of people in those days could not be ascertained because of lack of publicity and well organized media outlets. As a result all the vile and heinous crimes committed against humanity by Muhammad and his groups were not condemned because of lack of human right institutions and activists. This implies that, if Muhammad has carried out his operations in this day and age, he would have failed in conquering the places that he conquered. The recent activities of the jihadist or the Mujahideen are typical replica of what Muhammad and his group did in those days which aided in the expansion of Islam. If not for the modern means of communications in place the world wouldn’t have known the level of atrocities and grievous crimes committed by ISIS in Iraq and Syria. Their decision to exterminate the Christians and other minorities in these areas was the same decision that Muhammad and his groups made in those days and it really worked for them because nobody could raise an eyebrow.

2. Wars: Virtually all Islamic countries are at war, and as a result of this all the citizens of these countries are in serious need of safety and security. They have no other option than to look elsewhere that peace is available. The warring situation in their countries opens the opportunity of easy migration to other countries where they seek for succor and solace. The countries that are always readily available to give the much needed helping hands are the European countries and USA. Their relocation to these countries simply implies that their religion has also relocated to these areas. And as long as the wars in their countries continue many of them will definitely find their way to these areas and that means growing number of Muslims in these areas. Most of my Syrian and Iraq colleagues have all fled to Europe and they were welcomed with open arms and benign attitude on arrival. They settle in these countries with their Islamic suffix to their family’s structure as they continue to raise their families conductively, agitate for their rights and even “grovel” for recognition in political positions. They enjoy such privilege that sometimes they cannot enjoy in their home countries. The farcical disposition of Islamic countries is that if these conditions are in place in any Christian country the Islamic countries will never help out. Have you heard that Saudi Arabia or any Islamic country gave aid to any country that is not Islamic if such country is experiencing natural disaster or epidemic?

3. Intimidation: If you find yourself in any Islamic country, they will intimidate and make sure that you are constrained in way that you would find it hard to practice your faith. Just mentioning that you are Christian attracts hatred from your neighbours, and that means isolation. In most Islamic countries while you find mosque in all the nooks and crannies of the city it is very hard to locate a church. In Qatar for example, no church is found in the city, the only church available is Roman Catholic Church and is located in a deserted area. Don’t ever think of taking the Bible no matter the size into Saudi Arabia it must be seized. One Indian sister told me how the Saudi Arabian policemen come to their quarters to search for Bibles. All of these intimidations are to make sure that the faith you have in your religion fades away. On the contrary, you cannot stop Muslims from building mosques, the result of such action will be bomb blast and terrorist attacks hinged on Allah’s name and by this they must have their way. Muslims are in growing numbers on the streets of England, France, Germany, Belgium, USA, etc and they are at will exercising their religious freedom. Such freedom cannot be found in any Mid-Eastern countries. The populations of Christians in Syria and Iraq who are real citizens of these countries continue to diminish greatly as a result of intimidation from the Muslims in these countries. Lebanon some decades ago use to be known as Christian but today it a Muslim country because of intimidation, their Christian citizens have fled their country to other countries.
4. Monetary Support: Muslims are ready to heavily give monetary support to any project and program aimed at proliferating Islam and Islamic ideologies in any part of the world. Instead of sending aids to the downtrodden to help alleviate poverty and sickness in these areas, they are ready to mobilize support for the erecting of mosques and Islamic schools in these areas. This means tend to create the presence of Islam in these areas and subsequently enshrine its influences in the life of the people. Muslims supports the Islamic terror groups monetarily, all Muslims pay jihad fees or tax and these money is used in financing the terror group, if you live and work in the Middle-east, certainly whether you are a Muslim or not, you have to pay Jihad tax from your salary. Muslims are happy when their Islamic terror groups gain territories, after all it is for the expansion of Islam, and those areas conquered will never be known as non-Muslim area. One nairalander was happy to tell the world that all the churches built by the apostles and first century Christians in Corinth (Present day Turkey) have been converted to mosques, the means by which this took place cannot be forgotten in a hurry. The activities of Boko haram and ISIS is a welcome development in the Muslim world; one Iranian cleric while speaking on Press TV claimed that Boko Haram is not a terror group but group of Muslims fighting corruption in their country. This shows the kind of support Boko Haram has been enjoying from Iran; we should not forget how Iran flooded our seaport with weapons of war.

5. Polygamy: In Islam a man is entitled to marry as many wives as he can, by this means he starts to populate his entire enclave with children, while other families are expanding geometrically they (Islamic Families) are expanding in a random form, thereby increasing the number of Muslims in their localities. The sad and tacky situation is that any child born in a Muslim family automatically becomes a Muslim and any attempt to get free from this superimposition implies that the family has to do away with the person in question by any means possible. Notice that if a non-Muslim converts to Islam is a welcome development and such doesn’t raise dust, but if it is the other way round, the anger and uproar of Muslims will destabilize the world. This shows how much unruly they can go to see that their Islamic disposition and stance is kept intact even to every soul in their families. As a result of this, many who would like to get off the hook will not make the attempt rather unwillingly they stick around.

However, be rest assured that Britain, USA is Muslim countries, because Islam has gotten its root there. You may doubt my statement; the truth is that you have to use your third eye to see what I have seen. France is already in their lock and key, and soon Germany will be cowed.

Peterken05: Bible is just like any other book written by a bunch of powerful people to suit their needs, thats why they killed so many people just to eliminate the real truth about jesus and the rest. Sophisticated christians do not need george gershwin to convince them that the things that you li'ble to read in the bible it aint necessarily so. But there are many unsophisticated christians out there who think it absolutely is necessarily so-who take the bible very seriously indeed as a literal and accurate record of history and hence evidence supporting their religious beliefs. The problem is people are incurious, they dont read, do their homework before coming out to talk. Shouldnt a literalist worry about the fact that matthew traces joseph's descent from king david via 28intermediate generations, while luke has 41generations? Worse, there is almost no overlap in the names on the 2lists. In any case, if jesus was really born of virgin, joseph's ancestry is irrelevant and cannot be used to fufil, on jesus' behalf, the old testament prophecy that the messiah sshould descended from david. To be fair much of the bible is not systematically evil but just plain weird, as you would expect of a chaotically cobbled-together anthology of disjointed documents, composed, revised, translated, distorted and improve by hundreds of anonymous authors spanning nine centuries.
A nice trash!

Are you not here to defend 'something' which you claim is my ALL POWERFUL creator? Let's examine the present state of affairs. So far we've been ranting against 'nothing' and it is evident, isn't it? Now if what you believe is true, wouldn't there be some evidence of it after all these rants? Where is this omnipotent designer of the universe? Does all that power keep him from moving or answering ppl? That is an UNIMAGINABLE amount of power for things to look like they do around here. It does look like we're ranting against an imaginary deity.
Your thinking is far below standard and that shows how tacky your reasoning has been since you have decided to pivot your whole being on unfounded ideologies. So what do you expect God to do against them? Kill them with your supposed magical power and by this you will believe that He exists. I’m sorry He has chosen not to do anything to them, but watch things unfold and also He knows that someday sometime in the near future some of them will become gained souls in His fold. I think the earlier you stop humanizing God the better for you and the earlier you stop putting God in your shoes the better you will become and eventually know Him well. Just a piece of advice you can take it or dump it.

chuxyz: Living in typical igbo town such as Aba or Onitsha is quite fun with the kind of hilarious quotes that you hear on daily basis. These are the ones i can remember for now:

1. Hapu ihe e dere na moto banye moto (Leave what is written on a motor and enter motor)
Meaning: Taking action is a priority over having details or previous knowledge

2. Kee ncha bu omo? (Which soap is omo?)
Meaning: How far? or What's up?

3. Onye m ga-egbuli m ga rio chineke ka o nyere m aka? (One i can defeat do i still need to beg God for help?)
Meaning: Self explanatary

4. Gaa washington ka ha washia nti gi (Go to washington so your ear can be washed)
Meaning: Told to a deaf ear

5. Agbacha oso a gwuo mile (After the race, the miles or distance covered is calculated)
Meaning: Being reflective after a difficult task

6. Ogaracha must come back (He who wanders away must come back)
Meaning: You can not totally shy away from your responsiblities

Do we have Aba or Onitcha or other Igbo boys boys here? Please let's keep it rolling...
1. Hapu ihe e dere na moto banye moto (Leave what is written on a motor and enter motor)
Meaning: Taking action is a priority over having details or previous knowledge. Will u enter an ambulance?
SportsRe: Yaya Toure Is CAF African Footballer Of 2013 by noblejames: 11:49am On Jan 10, 2014
I wonder how people think that Mikel Obi should be favoured in this award whereas a French speaking African is a close contender. This shows that Nigerians are yet to understand the politics of Africa. Let me make it clear, no English speaking African will ever be the President of CAF mark my word. However,it was possible for Nigerians to win this award in the past just because there was no serious French speaking African contender at that time. If you have lived outside Nigeria and have done business or stayed together with some French African speaking people you will easily understand what I mean. There is a big gulf between us and this cuts across everything that we do, try chase their women, their men will not allow you be; well that’s on the side, but on a serious note football is mostly most affected. For instance, if Nigeria is playing a football match with Tunisia or Algeria, the Ivorian or the Cameroonian will definitely prefer to support the North African country against Nigeria and the same thing goes to Tunisians and Algerians. Unfortunately, we have more French speaking countries in Africa than English Speaking countries, therefore, inasmuch as the voting pattern remain the same, any time there is close rivalry, between a French speaking African and English speaking, the French man most surely take the award period!

CareerRe: Woman Loses Pregnancy After Alleged Kick From Lebanese Boss by noblejames: 2:32pm On Dec 24, 2013
Nigerians are cowards in their homeland and unfortunate tigers across the shores of their country. It is very disheartening to know that Nigerians cannot stand on their feet and beat their cheat and say truly they are Nigerians in their own domain. I mean this cannot happen in any Arab country that I know for sure.. in one of the Arab countries that I have lived, you don't dare sack a citizen from his job.. what more laying your hand on him. Definitely, you have to answer some rigorous questions from their internal affairs ministry and every other relevant authorities, the person in question if he must go, will not go empty handed. Who the hell are you to beat an Arab citizen? And not just beating but beating a woman for that matter not just a woman a pregnant one indeed.... waow ... YOU HAVE JUST WAKE UP A SLEEPING LION.... That very company will eventually stop its operation no two ways about it. And here you are a Lebanese is using you as a punching bag and you are married, just because you want to save 17000naira job you turn yourself to MUMU. You cannot even let your husband know about it.... you can as well open your legs for him since you dont value your life and your integrity as a married woman. I can't believe that Nigerian women are falling this cheap! Come to think of it, where are this Occupy Nigeria group? This is the kind of job they should be facing in order to maintain and uphold the honour of Nigerian citizens not chasing shadows with Ngozi Iweala. Where are the lawyers in Nigeria? It is time to make money from this stupid Lebanese not going to court to protect looters and criminals in the society.
