Please I need a little help. I'm a PhD applicant. I'm now able to log in and update my center. But each time I log in the center i chose previously is shown but the interview panel always defaults to Engineering, even when I chose Geoscience or Computing option previously and saved successfully. I hope this is not a problem.

Don't bother yourself, I am also experiencing the same thing. On the day of the interview d panel chosen will interview you hopefully.

I applied for PhD because I'm rounding off my MSc already but no MSC certificate yet, would they give me audience if I present only my MSc Result sheet?

. Hmmm , don't know. If it's a foreign MSc certificate you will get, they might but for a Nigerian University that u cannot say when your certificate will be ready, they might frown at you. But go and try. You have nothing to lose.

Which time do u have to make a power point presentation? No provision for that in Ibadan center. It is manual.

Good day all. I did my interview (PhD) yesterday in Ibadan. We submitted four(4) copies of our research proposal. The interview went well and I trust God I have the scholarship this time around. Note of advise for us. For your research proposal ensure that your font is legible (the standard is 12points) also let your research proposal be specific and not generalized. I was given four (4) minutes to talk on my proposal and what I want to achieve. Then the panelist (2), asked me questions strictly on my proposal. Nothing more just my proposal.

Please don't be offended by my choice of words here because right now as type am in full tears and I hope to find my solution here.
My mun has been sick since 2006 to an unknown sickness and she is dying slowly. We have been to the best hospitals around Delta state (Ubth, Westend, Ogara. Just to mention a few) through out the time of this illness but they have been no out come or what so ever. We have visited the SCOAN on several occasions and almost all the churches around although we are roman Catholic but they have been no solution. We have also gone deep traditionally but we are really confuse right now. I have never seen something like this as am on tears now.

My mum is a devoted Christian and the best Mum Alive, but it seems God has forgotten about us. How will a good woman be on sick for so long? My dad is now feed up of the issue and I can smell it, that he has tried enough to revive her health but she wasn't married nor created like this.

My mum is a mother of 7 children and am the 1st child, I won't give up on her. I am ready to still go extra miles. We heard they are standard hospitals in jigawa so am currently doing a research on that now because this morning her breath is been ceased and she is excreting thick blood from her mouth through out the night.

Please Nairalander I will really appreciate if I can get any standard hospital here in Nigeria, or Any church that can attend to this issue or even a witch doctor because we have been to almost all the churches.

It is really pathetic . But here is a solution for you. Rededicate your life to Christ. Find a Christ Embassy church closer to you and enquire about healing school. Nothing is too difficult for my God to do. Seek solution no more ANYWhere but in Christ. As u said, your mum is a Christian, Nothing is impossible for our God. Besides divine health is hers. It is well.

You shouldn't be surprised to see PhD students here. A 20 year old kid can be admitted to PhD straight in the US after finishing college without MSc. And in Nigeria, increasingly many young people with MSc today are going for PhD cos they are no jobs. While it should be expected for them to act more maturedly, it's not a given.

Still, I agree with your comment about the guy comparing people fallaciously and trying to sway people subliminally towards divulging their competitive advantage.

you re not right sir/ma. I have done mine. I see no big deal in telling others of what to experience/expect.

If I was equally told, I would have prepared well, too. I met my questions from the panel. It reduces chances of us that was on first day.

Helping others makes u greater. It is not a do or die affair. One must not do a PhD to be successful in life. I know a lot of my colleagues with just first degree doing big things .

Help others yet to do theirs. That does not reduce ur chances. At least they will be better prepared.

i think they want to establish a valid relationship between ury msc n phd studies.

I was not asked for my MSc. Thesis. Just my certificates.

Dear all. I just did mine today. I am in the environmental and Management Group. Alot of people were called and most of them did not show up. My advise, just go there and do ur interview.

My interview was quite tough but I am not discouraged for I will get the scholarship this year. They dwell mostly on what you tell them. Know ur research very well and be able to defend it. They will give u 2 minutes to talk before firing u questions. Like relevance of ur work, economics and feasibility of ur work in Nigeria.

Also another important point to note is ur knowledge about ptdf. Just go to their website (www.ptdf.gov.ng), study everything there. 1 question would come from there. Like mine, they asked where are their intervention sites in Nigeria that I know. Don't bother about current affairs, no current affairs question.

Don't be afraid, just go there with confidence and above all, trust God. There is nothing impossible with God.

Don't think so. Each candidate has like 5 mins or there about. Think about setting up PowerPoint presentation, the time you will use in setting that up maybe 3 to 5mins, then consider the number of candidates to be interviewed. Focus on ur research, mostly all the question will come from there. The interviews are very vast. Nothing to worry about just know ur research very well and just talk what u know.

Rule 1. For u to score very high, answer all the questions even if u don't know them. Answer the ones u are sure of first. Leave time wasters questions. Come back to them after u have answered all the ones u know.

Good evn all. I did mine interview today. The panelists were OK. You will be divided into groups (Panel 1 to 6),depending on your discipline and intended course of study. My advice, go wit all the documents requested and photocopy all (4copies). Also wen u're accredited, photocopy d form, front and back (3copies). Know a little about current affairs like headquarters of the Commonwealth of nations, headquarters of various geopolitical zones in Nigeria and governors in Nigeria. It was really stressful and the organization was not really impressive. Pray for favour. I wish u all the best.

But I dont have Medical certificate of fitness, please who can help me here.

Inbox me your email you used in the application, check your spam mail. I think all that applied making Nigeria Federal Scholarship Board their nominating body were invited. About 195 applicants or there about. From the mail I was sent I saw 194 other emails as well.

Don't bother yourself just come with it and show them. The ones you will make four copies are 1. Your EAS forms 2. Your degree certificates 3. Birth certificate. 4. Local Government Certificate 5. SSCE/NECO I think. For your NYSC, I think one copy is enough (but you can do four copies for that one too, just to be on a safer side). Just my thought.

Please, I have unpublished manuscript that I included as my publications. They amount to 1,200 pages in all, minus my degree project. Am I to make 4 copies of them too? Or is it just one copy as evidence. Pls, this is giving me headache. Someone answer pls.

If you have scholarship for the masters go for it but don't spend your own personal money to go and do masters in the UK.

I attest to that,I've over 7 years of experience in water/environmental engineering. Going for my PhD.
