Music/RadioRe: Jamaican Reggae Star, Luciano, Stoned In Port Harcourt by noblemuk: 11:32pm On Dec 24, 2011
Its a big pity a great artiste like Luciano wasn't received by the Nigerian youth. His songs holds very positive messages and he has been compared to the likes of Bob Marley, only that his genre of reggae music is gospel. You should try his collections. Luciano is very good.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Awo Lose The 1979 Election? by noblemuk: 2:23pm On Oct 15, 2011
you should recall that Awo ruled as leader of the the Yoruba geopolitical zone which was one of the three recognised geopolitical zones in Nigeria at that time. He was the Premier of the Western Region of Nigeria from October 1, 1954 until December 15, 1959. Nonetheless, his accomplishments dwarf the combined achievements of the last five heads of government Nigeria has had. you should understand that you can not excuse his towering influence in the advancement of the yoruba people as a weakness for nationalism. His influence was greatly felt in the Yoruba land because it was the region under which he had jurisdiction. His impact is still being felt and multiplied in the land as at today. He exercised his ingeniousness in affecting the whole of Nigeria by masterminding the end of the Nigerian civil war when he was a federal minister under General Yakubu Gowon. If he had been given the chance to serve Nigeria and not rigged out at the federal elections, this great man would have transformed the entire country called Nigeria, and who knows, we might not be where we are now as a nation. We probably will be the true giant of Africa where are destiny lies.

RomanceRe: Long Distance Relationships (pros & Cons) by noblemuk: 8:59pm On Aug 31, 2011
I am in a long distance relationship. We've been married for 2yrs now and every thing has been wonderful. However, we started going out 5yrs before we got married and we both lived together in Lagos as at then. Now she studies in the US while I'm in  Nigeria. It is possible to still have a good relationship but you should define how long it will take. for a budding relationship i advice that you should see each other at most every three month of which you should spend sometime in each others company. During the 5years of dating my wife i knew almost all about her, what she thinks, eat, drink, and her personal mannerism. We never Were Intimate until we got married and we both have same spiritual believes and understand the spiritual consequence of sexual immorality. Our spiritual believe has Christians is the bond that has kept our our marriage till now. Trust me, Love is not enough bond to prevent you from cheating on each other. It takes more, i tell you from the first hand experience of a man who is building a loving home. Try these few suggestions and they will help a great deal, 1. use 'skype' alot. 2. call each other very often (this could be quite expensive) 3.you should have a very sound internet connection. 4.You will have to sacrifice several sleepless nights of discussion just in case you both are in places with far apart time zones, 5. ensure that you both foster a relationship were you don't ever lie to your partner no matter what(this will go a long way to help the both of you develop trust no matter what others might say and in case of knot cases), 6.  pray together and often, talk about what you both will desire together in the future.

FamilyRe: Is It True That Ladies From Broken Homes Are Not A Good Wife Material? by noblemuk: 1:50am On Jun 29, 2011
I talk from experience, it is True in some sense. For a lady like that, you will have to do a lot of reorientation to help her come to terms with the fact that she is in a new family with you now not the old one with her parents. They seem to remember and compare you with their dad in the case of a lady that has had an unfair father. You will have to exercise patience and love to help her heal or you both will get burnt.
PoliticsRe: Is Fashola Over Celebrated? Or He Is On Vacation by noblemuk: 10:22pm On Jun 23, 2011
NIGERIAN are hard to please. FASHOLA is working, if you are to complain of flooding you should have been around in the sixties to help our leaders then take a better decision to have suspended the whole of Lagos at least 7meters above sea level. right now it is too late, and you complain its FASHOLA. If he should demolish your houses you will say he is callous and wicked and you will expect him to remunerate owners with all the state's fund. FASHOLA IS WORKING, LAGOS IS WORKING,
TravelRe: Red Alert! American Embassy Abuja, Keep Away From The Asian Lady. by noblemuk: 11:24am On Jun 18, 2011
I was at the US embassy in Abuja a month ago and i saw this woman. It is true she is quite harsh though she hardly interviews anyone, she is often busy checking everyone's document at the counter before you sit to wait for your interview turn. A scenario i witnessed is her engaging in some serious interrogation of a Hausa senator who came with his wife and child after she had been asked to comeback on a later date with her husband. He showed up and the Ashian lady said there was nothing to prove that the about 60years old man was married to her, aside that, that the kid is theirs. It is quite a simple case, in my own opinion, she was right, though the senator agued that  They got married several years ago and in their part of the country certificates are not usually issued, marriage is done as long as families agree, well you can't blame the Asian lady for insisting that he comes back with an evidence or forget about his wife and supposedly kid going to the US.

In my own opinion, when you visit the embassy be sure you have complete documents and ones you can defend, most appropriately, tell the truth and be smart about it. When you tell the truth you won't be scared of making mistakes because they are psychologists and are good at asking same questions in several ways and sometimes could choose to intimidate you to get you to make blunders especially if you are lying. Be sure who ever you are claiming to meet has a legal stay in the US and be sure you know what you are going to do in the US.

I was at the US embassy for the first time and was going to see my wife who is schooling in the US. on the first day after giving out my passport to the interviewer, he asked me for my wife's transcript, this is to show she is presently enrolled as a student in the school. This i didn't have and i told him i can get it if it's of high importance, interview time, 3min. I was giving a chance to comeback so i returned immediately the next Tuesday with the transcript, the first thing he asked me for was the transcript and as soon i as i showed him he granted me a visa without further questions, interview time less than 1min. I was kinda surprised cos he didn't ask me for my marriage certificate, wedding pictures, bank statement or any other document even though i had them all.
PoliticsRe: Warning Alert In Lagos: Evacuate, Heavy Floods Coming! by noblemuk: 12:58am On May 30, 2011
The terrain of Lagos can be compared to that of the Netherlands and even the undeveloped  Niger Delta. Most parts of Lagos are barely higher than 5m above sea level. A developed country like the Netherlands simply suspends most part of its country in the air; well above sea level. This is freaking expensive and it's what i expect for the Niger Delta if our leaders know what they are doing. It requires a considerable drop in elevation to allow storm water flow from inland into the Lagoon but Lagos is almost flat and generates very little slope to drive the water in its canals; that's why they are often silted with debris. Most part of Lagos was developed without careful assessment of its flat plane and hence its predicament. The present government can only manage it and ensure the problem is not being transfered to the newly developing Lagos area like Lekki, Badagry etc. The populace itself are also to blame, many still indulge in duping refuse in canals you will be surprised what you'll find in Lagos canals, refugerators, dead bodies, thousands of pure-water sachets and pet bottles just to mention a few, could be crazy at times. All we can pray for is the foresight to see solutions in the midst of these problems. For some of us It is a pending  opportunity, i always say, "in the background of every problem is an impending opportunity to make an impact, if you decide to solve it"
PoliticsRe: Will Fashola Join PDP Or Will He Overthrow Tinubu In ACN? by noblemuk: 10:01pm On Apr 12, 2011
it is very amusing how people forget so quick. I state and stand to be challenged, Tinubu is a leader to be admired in the Nigerian polity. You forget so quickly that Tinubu during his tenure as governor demonstrated share innovation, intelligence and apt understanding of economics. You forget so quickly that as governor, being the only surviving AC(AD) state, the PDP government was poised to starve Lagos by withholding its federal allocation, which it did till the end of Tinubu's regime. Out of share act of determination to resist failure and impoverishment of Lagos, Tinubu conceptualized ways to increase internally generated funds by the Lagos state government. Internally generated revenue (IGR) increased in his time from 600m monthly to a whooping 5billion per month (in just 7yrs). This he used to foster continual infrastructural development in Lagos amidst the starvation induced on Lagos and its populace by the PDP government. It is not the first time Lagos state government has employed the services of a tax consulting company to help increase its IGR, this method was employed even during the military era by Buba marwa. the only difference is; 5% of 600m at that time only amounted to about 30m and nobody screams. Now at over 15billion with 5% every one sees the big pie and screams blue murder. it is simple, Your company makes N20,000 per month but then i offer you a means by which your company will make N1 million per month yet we agree on 5% of the increase i realize for your company while being giving a firm target. It is pure and simple. His source of finance is genuine, in my own opinion, It is far better than many who loot national funds without adding value in anyway to the Nigerian people. This man has demonstrated good leadership values and should be appreciated not demeaned like many of us do. If we didn't see him in the light of a leader that brought hope back to Lagosians, when he recommended Fashola to us we wouldn't have voted him. Remember that it only takes a visionary leader to give a person as Fashola such pedestal after office when he had an array of choices to make. Also remember that without the innovative and prolific nature of the man called Tinubu, Fashola wouldn't have the elbow room and finances which he now bask in, to bring into existence many things which we now see as unprecedented development happening in Lagos state. As Fashola said and correctly too, 'Tinubu is my mentor'.

Lagos-ikeja, its BB for me.
I believe we need change. In as much as our lackluster GEJ speaks a different body language compared to his fellow PDP leaches he still would have them has a huge stone strapped firmly to his leg while being buried in the deep blue sea. Freedom becomes a far cry. Remember that even if Alibaba turns a new lease the people still have the forty thieves to contend with. smiley

PoliticsRe: Fashola Rips Goodluck To Shreds! by noblemuk: 1:37am On Feb 11, 2011
Can anyone see the date on the document posted?, Oct 1993. At that time, our dearest Abacha was just getting ready to seize government from timid Earnest Shonekan. So, it doesn't make any sense. Bola Tinubu wasn't even dreaming to be governor at that time, the document lacks merit! at least in this context.
