Crime › Re: Adamawa Teacher, Pregnant 12-Year-Old Schoolgirl Are Lovers No Rape-NUT Chairman by nogragra: 10:11am On Sep 19, 2019 |
timtunday: The Adamawa State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has refuted a media report that a teacher identified as Nathan (surname withheld) raped a 12-year-old schoolgirl in Namtari village of Yola South in Adamawa State.
The chairman of the union in the state, Comrade Rodney Nathan, speaking with Tribune Online at the union’s secretariat in Yola, said the claims made by Adamawa Police command, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), was premature, as according to him, “Proper investigations were not carried out before going to the press.”
Comrade Rodney told Tribune Online that the relationship between the teacher in Adamawa State and the schoolgirl was a known one to the parents of the girl and the society (Namtari) at large.
He said that as of the time, Mr Yusuf was arrested, the keys to his room were with the girl in question, which he said suggested that the duo were consciously engaged in a mutual relationship.
However, while condemning rape as a crime, he vowed to decisively deal with any teacher found in the act.
The NUT chairman contended that “one cannot call a mutual relationship between a schoolgirl and her teacher who are mutually in love a rape case.”
He said from the report submitted by a panel of enquiry set up by NUT to investigate the matter, it became known that the schoolgirl, a student of Government Secondary School (GSS), and Nathan, a primary school teacher in Namtari, had been lovers for at least, six months.
Also, the NUT chairman the investigation committee’s report revealed that the schoolgirl “is carrying a six-month pregnancy, an indication that a long term relationship had existed between the teacher and the schoolgirl.”
The NUT chairman, further queried the claims be security agents, as he asked: “At what point did the rape take place, was it six months ago, or now that it was discovered the schoolgirl is carrying a six-month pregnancy?
Comrade Rodney blamed the parents of the minor for encouraging the relationship, as it was reported that the accused teacher was always in her house and her parents were aware of the relationship.
Source: https://www.google.com/amp/s/tribuneonlineng.com/alleged-rape-adamawa-teacher-12-year-old-schoolgirl-are-lovers-nut-chairman/amp/ Naivety is a serious disease of Nigerian society. Since when is a 12 year old regarded as old enough to make informed decision on sexual matters. What a shame that the NUT that supposed to be the arbiter of school governing and management affairs are even culpable and incompetent on this matter. A case of appointing a hawk that cannot even hunt a chick, what a shame. |

Muttee: Ediozi Odi, a Nigerian human trafficking kingpin, has been sentenced to 129 years imprisonment in addition to 6 life sentences in Pretoria, South Africa. Underage victims are from poor homes and were promised a better life, but had no idea that they were entering his brothel - a house disguised as a barbershop.
Once inside, the girls were immediately forced to smoke highly addictive drugs manufactured and sold by Odi. Once the victims were exposed to the drug, they were immediately hooked and would do anything to get their hands on it. The girls, mostly aged 13 and 14, told the court that once high on the drugs, Odi himself raped them “to teach them the tools of the trade” as an initiation into the sex trade.
According to the report, the victims were locked up in the house for the duration of their stay, while Odi send his workers to prowl the streets for prospective clients. They were also locked up in a dungeon (pictured) under the floor of the house whenever the police raided.
The girls were paid for their prostitution by means of drugs and they hardly got any food. The brothel master took all their proceeds.

Crime › Re: Oyenusi Smiles To His Death...see His Pictures... by nogragra: 10:43am On Sep 16, 2019 |
Dejinho14: On this date in 1971, the Nigerian robber Ishola Oyenusi — “smiling to his death,” in the words of the next day’s paper — was publicly shot with his gang at Lagos Bar Beach . Dubbed “the most dangerous criminal of this decade” even though the Seventies were barely underway “Doctor” Oyenusi — as he liked to style himself — sprang out of the wreckage of the 1967-1970 Nigerian Civil War, a charismatic, cocksure gangster. whose lordly disdain for the law cast the terrifying portent of social breakdown. Beyond Oyenusi loomed a systematic breakdown in social order that would long outlive him. In years to come, other celebrity crime lords would follow him; eventually, armed robbery would proliferate into a frightfully ubiquitous feature of life in Lagos. Maybe the Doctor smiled at the stake because he foresaw his legacy. Disturbingly unable to combat the plague systematically, authorities would resort to occasional high-profile executions instead, provided, of course, that the culprit’s misappropriations were of the retail street-crime variety, rather than the fruits of wholesale corruption . Oyenusi was never in the same universe with such exalted impunity. He got into the robbery business back in 1959, boosting a car (and murdering its owner into the bargain) to make it rain for his broke girlfriend. While he eventually expanded his operations into a brutal syndicate, he was still just a hoodlum; the infamy that packed the Bar Beach with 30,000 fellow humans who booed and jeered Oyenusi to the stake was merely enough to make him worth the quashing. (He was condemned to death specifically for a raid on the WAHUM factory in March 1971 that also claimed the life of a police constable.) Six members of Oyenusi’s crime ring went with him to the stake on the same occasion. An eighth man was also shot in the batch for an unrelated armed carjacking. Criminals in Nigeria today did worst things than Oyenusi including our polititians wetin den do for them? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Xenophobia: South Africa Issues Statement After Their President Was Booed by nogragra: 9:23am On Sep 16, 2019 |
GboltNG: The South African government are now begging Zimbabweans to forgive them over the recent xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals in their country, Igbere TV reports.
This comes barely 24 hours after the country’s President, Cyril Ramaphosa, was booed by a crowd of Zimbabwe mourners at the funeral service of Robert Mugabe over the attacks.
“I stand before you as a fellow African to express my regret and apologise for what has happened in our country,” Ramaphosa had said while apologizing for the development in his condolence speech at the Zimbabwe National Sports Stadium.
In a show of remorse for the attacks in their country and resultant reprisals, South Africans have staged a peace walk and asked for forgiveness from other African nations.
Photos and footage in circulation on social media, obtained by Igbere TV, show thousands of South Africans marching in parts of the country to call for an end to attacks on foreign nationals.
The march is coming after hundreds of foreign nationals – including Nigerians and Zimbabweans – were forced to leave the country over the recent xenophobic attacks.
Meanwhile, following the humiliation he suffered at the hands of Zimbabweans during Mugabe’s funeral on Satruday, Ramaphosa has now taken steps to address the negative image the citizens of other countries currently have about South Africa.
A statement published on the official website of South Africa’s presidency on Sunday said Ramaphosa has appointed a special envoy to heads of African governments to convey his regret concerning the widely condemned attacks.
The statement obtained by Igbere TV, read;
“A team of Special Envoys appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa have begun their assignment yesterday, 14 September 2019, and departed South Africa to deliver messages of solidarity to several Heads of State and Government across Africa,” the statement said.
“The team, comprising of Mr Jeff Radebe, Ambassador Kingsley Mmabolo and Dr. Khulu Mbatha, will visit Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia.
“The Special Envoys will deliver a message from President Ramaphosa regarding the incidents of violence that recently erupted in some parts South Africa, which have manifested in attacks on foreign nationals and destruction of property.
“The Special Envoys are tasked with reassuring fellow African countries that South Africa is committed to the ideals of pan-African unity and solidarity. The Special Envoys will also reaffirm South Africa’s commitment to the rule of law.
“The Special Envoys will brief governments in the identified African countries about the steps that the South African government is taking to bring a stop to the attacks and to hold the perpetrators to account.”
http://igberetvnews.com/993856/xenophobia-please-forgive-us-south-africa-begs-zimbabwe/ . Medicine after death. I currently leave in South Africa, Not all South African are xenophobic but a large proportion of them are while some fair percentage are in support while a few are totally against this. In the Bible God delayed the destruction of Sodom and Gommora because of lot and house hold. I think all Africans must forgive them on account of these few, but they (South Africans) must come out resolutely in a statement that such dastardly act must never happen to Africans in African soil ever again. All damages and compensations must be fully paid by South African government as they are responsible for the actions of their people. |

nairavsdollars: *Says President’s Utterances Causing More Divisions
Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos
The Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, said on Wednesday that President Muhammadu Buhari was failing in his duties as father of the nation.
The group expressed this view while noting that the president’s utterances were capable of compounding the already tensed situation in the country.
Afenifere’s National Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin, said the statement by the president that he gave two ministerial slots to Kano and Kaduna because of the huge votes they gave him in the 2019 presidential election was unfortunate.
Speaking on the ongoing protest by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Japan where President Buhari is attending the 7th Tokyo International Conference, Odumakin said it was time President Buhari summoned a meeting of all ethnic nationalities in the country where their grievances could be addressed.
“It is not only the grievances of IPOB that President Muhammadu Buhari should address, he should address the grievances in the land across board.
“I don’t know how it does not occur to the president that at this stage, we should be summoning Nigerians to dialogue over the state of the nation, how to bring down tension, how to build an inclusive country.
“How can the president go to Kaduna and say ‘I gave you two ministerial slots because you gave me the highest votes?
“Is that what he should be saying this season? Is that the kind of song the president should be singing?
“As the father of the nation, you should be looking at ways to lower tensions and bring people together as the father of all, build an inclusive country, and begin to address the grievances of all sections of the country and not to continue to pour petrol on a burning refuse.
“What was the reason for allowing Sheikh El-Zakzaky to return to the country? And look at their sickening argument that he wanted to stay in a five-star hotel. Even if he wants a 10-star hotel, why not allow it for the sake of peace?
“They should know the anti-corruption mood is not the mood in which you govern a country. We need a leader who gives all Nigerians a sense of belonging.
“Until the president begins to do that, Nigeria will continue to stumble from one crisis to another,” Afenifere said. https://www.independent.ng/buhari-not-behaving-like-father-of-the-nation-afenifere/ Father of the nation ko fatherchristmas ni.
