Congrats rezzy, maureensylvia and other mamas that have put to bed. God bless them and be with them all. Mamas that use infacol for their babies, what's the dosage please? Colic is dealing with my baby seriously. Thanks. |
hajarahbadmus:Thank God. God is your strength. I understand perfectly because I've been there. Just do the ones you can do and do others later when your baby is sleeping. Then always find time to rest. My babies are fine o. Trying my best to cope. |
@kilonso001, the pead is right but I think she should have given something to bring down the temperature. Just my opinion tho, other mamas will respond. My DD has a boil close to her nose too. I've been applying ori (Shea butter). It's been long I see @hajarahbadmus on this thread, hope all is well mama. |

happymama:Mama, no be small thing o. The heat is something else. In fact, I'm tired. If I expose her to breeze her nose becomes blocked. If I don't, heat rashes start coming out. Pls mamas, how do I free blocked nose in a 2-week-old? I don't have a nasal aspirator what else can I use? |

mkmyers45:Please how do you download from this site? There is no download option there. Thanks. |
@maureensylvia, prayer is the master key. Especially since it seems obvious it's a spiritual matter, pray, pray and don't ever stop praying. Tell God what you want, challenge Him and you will see it happening. |
Onegai:Thanks, will ask someone to check for me. @livelystone, I'll check that. I didn't even think of that. I just noticed she kinda leaves her tongue outside the mouth when not been fed. I make effort to close her mouth with my hand. @stposh, thanks. @zemaye. I'll try the Shea Butter option. Thanks. @apple19, I think you should keep putting your baby to your breas.ts, with time it should get better. |
prolify:I try to do this but it's like impossible. The areola is big and her mouth seems kinda small for the whole areola. I just try to put as much as I can in. I'll keep trying. Thanks for the swift response. @erei, the challenge I'm having is getting any ni.pple cream at all. I've checked everywhere in Festac, they don't have any type. Thanks. |
Mamas, please come to my aid. I'm having sores and pains in my nipp.les, I dread breastfeeding now and I'm already thinking of introducing formula. I've done everything I know could be done. I couldn't find Lasinoh nipple cream in my area. I don search tire. Please I need fast solution, I'm loosing it o. I'm in pain o. Are there mamas that don't go through this? Please what's the secret? It was like this with my first too and it didn't stop till I stopped breastfeeding. On top all the correct latching and Co. |

What's with the thread title? '..... Over of....'? |
Some mother-in-laws are really good. Mine was. When I gave birth to my first, she came. She bathed her, pressed my body, cooked. And she stayed for a year, taking care of my baby for me. She hardly complain. If I offend her, she'll tell my husband, not even her husband or other children heard any complain about me. And just 5 days ago, I gave birth to my second. She has been sick for a month, I was praying that God should heal her if only for the sake of my newborn but she passed away 3 days ago. She was a rare gem indeed. I'm not sure I've heard of mother-in-laws being that nice. Hers was different. Almost all my friends had issues with theirs. I don't just know why she had to die now but God knows and I've accepted like that. |
sayoddy:I only did 2. The first gave EDD as February 10 while the second gave it as January 19 or so. The doctor said we should stick with the first one since it was done in the first trimester and should be more accurate. God will see you through. Easy delivery with good news shall be yours. Sorry for the late response, lost my MIL two days after I gave birth. It's been a challenging period. She was a mother indeed. She treated me like her own daughter, the news was a rude shock. @olaoyekemi, will go for FP once my baby is 6 weeks o. Once beaten, twice shy. |
sugah:My EDD was February 10, I put to bed on the 3rd, that's a week difference. Thanks to all mamas for the prayers and good wishes. |
Thanks to all mamas for the good wishes. God bless you all. My pregnancy was 39 weeks yesterday and I was supposed to go for ANC and then proceed to work, I was at work the day before because I had planned that I will work till I give birth so that I can have a enough time for my baby. Around 6a.m., I started feeling contractions. I just decided to watch it and complain to the doc later, only to discover it was like 10 minutes apart. I told my husband and he had to prepare my baby for creche and took her there and also bought the other baby things I've not bought. I was at home timing the contractions and by the time he came back, it was getting to 7 or 5 minutes apart so I took my bath and we went to the hospital. On getting there, I was placed in a room, checked and told I was 5cm dilated. The pains kept coming at intervals, at times it will be regular while at other times it won't be. After about one hour, a nurse came to tell me she has to do enema for me. I asked what that is and she said they will pass an hose into my anus and flush it with warm water so that all the 'yamayama' will come out. OK o. She did that and I stooled enough watery stool. Around 2:30pm or there about, my water broke. My husband was with me then, the contractions were stronger and closer that each time it came I screamed with all my strength. He called the nurse and she took me to the Labour room. That was where the real drama started. She checked and said it was close, the doctor was called, he checked and said the same thing. All the while, I was in blinding pain, I could not even see anything, I was just hearing what they were saying. The doctor left and had to come back after few minutes when my noise kept increasing. Another nurse came and said she wanted to check how dilated I was, she checked. The first nurse said she wanted to check and tried. I just got angry, what with all the overchecking. I closed my legs sharply and told them that the checking is giving me unbearable back pains. They started complaining that I wasn't cooperating. Na them sabi ke. All the while my husband was rubbing my back, I was holding him and screaming. He later told me I almost bit him, haba, I be dog? Suddenly, I just felt the urge to push so I shouted I want to push oooo, the doctor said wait don't push. I shouted again, I can't control it o. The next thing, I felt the head come out, then the shoulders and that was it. They were even running upandan because they didn't expect it, not even me. I didn't even push, the baby just came out herself. After about 5 minutes, the doc asked me to cough and the placenta came out. God knew I had spent all my energy shouting and made it very easy for me. I had a little tear which was sown in about 5 minutes. We got to the hospital around 11:30am and put to bed at 3:04pm, she weighed 3kg. I told God to make it fast and easy for me, He did it. He's a faithful God. I bless God for seeing me through this pregnancy, I never planned for it. My first is just 14 months old and I almost gave up when I discovered I was pregnant again, I was angry with myself, my husband and everything. People used style to mock me, like 'no be yesterday she born one'? Some even said it to my face. I was even ashamed of my self. But after sometime, I accepted it and moved on, it was tough but God saw me through. Having a toddler and being pregnant without help was so not easy at all. I didn't even have a LMP because my period didn't resume as at when I took in again, my EDD was based on the first scan I did. I was hoping to give birth in January sef. To the glory of God, it all ended in praise. Sorry for my loooong epistle. |
I hail everyone in the building o. Unto the Lord be the glory, great things He hath done. I gave birth to a cute BBG today around 3pm. Safe and swift delivery to all bumping mamas. |

tchiwinnie:My baby is very active too. I've always nursed the idea of giving her pencil and paper to scribble but fears that she may use the pencil to hurt herself because she can be really restless. I will try it soon when I have time to monitor her. It's not so easy working, having a toddler and being pregnant. I hail all mothers, we dey try abeg. @Megilicious, you have to keep trying. My DD takes most food, but prefers cereals. I really wish she takes more of adult foods well too. God is your strength. |
Long but informative. Let's learn to seek a second opinion. http://www.punchng.com/caesarean-section-the-new-goldmine-for-nigerian-hospitals/ |
Lovely babies. God bless and keep them for us. I saw this picture on FB, thought to share it here.

joyousf:I've prepared it before but can't remember the procedure. Try to google it, I'm sure you'll get something useful and even youtube videos. Everything seems to be on the Internet these days. I know after grinding, you'll cook it sha. Lol, that's the little I could recollect. |
@sheweezy, there are baby yoghurts that you can get from wherever you buy your cereals. You can try that too. You can also mix it with fruits or other purees and see if your baby will like it. |
Please mamas, how do you give your LOs their medications? Once my baby sees just the bottle alone, she starts crying. It takes minimum of two people to hold her down whenever we want to give her the medicines. In the end, only about half of it gets into her mouth after all the wahala. I'm tired o, I need suggestions. She's 13 months old. |
mummy2be:Thank you mama. I've stopped breastfeeding but will keep to your advices. God bless you. @Onegai. I will see a paed, was just thinking of watching for a few more days before. Thanks and God bless. @Beryl15, thanks. Just that I'm scared of eucalyptus oil. I learnt it's too harsh for babies. The one I bought since I gave birth to her has never been opened. But I will try to use it if it persists. God bless you. @helovesme. Thanks for the detailed home remedies. I will try them out. God bless you. |
Thanks rezzy. Happy new year to you and yours. What can I do to stop my baby's cough and cattarrh that has refused to go? It's been about a week it started. I've asked before and no one responded. I hope I get a response this time. Happy New Year mamas. |
Happy new year wonderful mamas. It shall be a year of greatness and testimonies in Jesus name. May all pushing mamas put to bed with ease. ATC mamas shall receive their miracles this year. May God grant all our heart desires. Every enemy plan for us has been nullified in Jesus name. Enjoy the new year. |
