Career / Re: Top 5 Websites To Find Foreign Remote Jobs As A Nigerian by Norahsthought(f): 2:42pm On Sep 22, 2022
These websites are underrated. I got a remote job from one of these websites. It was a no-code startup and I was very surprised that they didn't care that I was African. I was the only African on my team and one of only three in the company. A few months later, we became five black, three of us were Nigerians.

I've been seeing really good opportunities on japaraoles these days. Don't be afraid to apply for these jobs. They don't discriminate.

All these cautions are based on intuition. Only the point number 5 makes sense. I've used SafeMono before and that's what I use with vendors I don't know or trust.

It's interesting. He may be touted as having an advantage but getting out of that can of failure takes a certain level of strong personal character. In my opinion he would still be successful had he not been from an elite background.

Business / Do You Want To Build A Disruptive Organization? Here Are Google's 8 Principles by Norahsthought(f): 12:32pm On Jun 07, 2020
1. Focus on the User. Build customer-centric businesses. Businesses are now operating at the age of the customer; therefore, it is vital to put the customer at the forefront of all operations.

2. Share Everything. In a hyperconnected world with massive amounts of cognitive surplus, it's critical to be open, allow the crowd to help you innovate, and build on each other's ideas.

3. Look for Ideas Everywhere. Crowdsourcing can provide you with incredible ideas, insights, products, and services.

4. Think Big but Start Small. This is the basis for Singularity University's 109 thinking. You can start a company on day one that affects a small group, but aim to positively impact a billion people within a decade.

5. Never Fail to Fail. The importance of rapid iteration: Fail frequently, fail fast and fail forward.

6. Spark with Imagination, Fuel with Data. Agility - that is, nimbleness - is a key discriminator against the large and linear. And agility requires lots of access to new and often wild ideas and lots of good data to separate the worthwhile from the wooly. For certain, the most successful start-ups today are data-driven. They measure everything and use machine learning and algorithms to help them analyze that data to make decisions.

7. Be a Platform. Look at the most successful companies getting billion-dollar valuations . . . Airbnb, Uber, Instagram . . . they are all platform plays. Is yours?

8. Have a Mission That Matters. Perhaps most important, is the company you're starting built upon a massively transformative purpose? When the going gets hard, will you push on or give up? Passion is fundamental to forward progress.

First of all, let me begin by saying this is the story of my friend and not me. I know you people will still jump to conclusions but that's up to you.

So early this week, my female friend came to visit and we had a really serious but somewhat awkward conversation. She simply said to me that she thinks she's addicted to sex and she needed help. Unfortunately, she's not in any serious relationship and she's doing well for herself but she thinks this lack of self-control could destroy her. She said she has tried everything, including trying to stay celibate but it just never worked. She asked as a lady what can she do? Bear in mind that it's much easier for ladies to get sex because, of course guys can barely say no. She has a couple of guys on speed dial.

So advice, please. If you're a lady and you were in a similar situation in the past, what did you do? And yes please reply as anon. Thank you

Politics / Re: If You Were President, What Sector Would You Focus On To Kickstart Development? by Norahsthought(f): 5:15pm On May 23, 2020
A nation gets the leader it deserves. This simply means that most Nigerians will get into power and do the same thing. Meanwhile, we've had really good people in government but the systems and structure (which you will have to fight to achieve this by the way) are so formidable that you will most likely be ineffective.

BLACKPRIEST:
Firstly, the ELECTORAL PROCESS. I'd bring about electoral reforms that'll where emerging a leader will not solely depend on total number of votes accrued by a candidate. Becoming a leader at every tier of government will be determined by an aggregate of factors that will be awarded points. Some of the factors will include:

1. Number of votes (every 100,000 votes will earn 7 points) will contribute only 10% to candidate's overall aggregate. This way, bullion vans will contribute little to a politician's emergence to leadership
2. Age 35 - 65 (the younger, the higher the points) overall contribution 15%
3. Educational qualifications (specific, verifiable certifications will have specific points) overall contribution15%
4. Corruption index 30%
5. Community service 20%
6. Other factors 10%

Experts will seat and craft out measurable parameters and indices that'll be used to evaluate the above factors.

Such an electrol reform will see to it that only the right and most capable individuals scale through to leadership.Idiots keep coming to power because we don't have a thorough electoral system.

I'll make voting electronic.

I will set a fiscal cap on campaign spending, which if exceeded, will be met with stiff penalties.

Secondly, I'll tackle IMMIGRATION. I'll build a national, comprehensive biometric data of all citizens - this is, by the way, very easy to achieve - such that Nigeria will also have a visa system for immigrants.

Thirdy, INDUSTRIALIZATION. After giving soft landings, I'll bring the importation of everything that can be produced in Nigeria to zero and ignore IMF. I cry for my country any time I think of Aba.

Fourthly, the JUDICIARY. Our judicial system is weak. The reason for the many disorganisations in Nigeria is the lack of retributions for offences, especially for the big and mighty in the society. Every offence will be punished accordingly, no matter how small the offence is and no matter how big the offender is. Justice is crucial to national development.

Fifthly, I'll mandate the DIGITISATION OF ALL THE FINANCIAL SYSTEMS AND all ADMINISTRATIVE BUREAUCRACIES IN ALL SECTORS, BOTH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE. This will leave electronic footprints that can be easily audited.

Then, I can focus on building a SYSTEM OF SOCIAL SECURITY: provision of social basic amenities

Exactly my point. Everyone seems to know the problem. Why then are we still stuck here and no one has solved it yet?

How will you ensure that this is effective? For one, as long as we still produce crude oil, non-producing states will say it's unfair to decentralize the economy. So how will you tackle this and how would you create a level-playing field for each state?

Why data collation and ID? What's the goal?

nickyvil:
Data base and means of identification like ssn, state control and self rule and Dr centralized , so regional should think on how to develop on their own by that Everybody will go back to how we are in the past, producing and manufacturing what they have but federal government will handle the military and civilian force but state too will create state police.

Education! It's easier to govern educated people.

The quality of teachers is low, the pay is low so our best minds would rather relocate. The ones here will comprise quality for money, bribes (may the deepest pockets pass exams). We need great facilities for better education. How do you solve that?
