Iniesta debuted in 2002 but he was not as regular as Messi was.. Despite the fact Messi debuted in 2004.. Messi was regular right from 2005 and head to the Ballon d'or podium in 2007..That is scary!!!

*COURT OF APPEAL UPHOLDS UGWUMBA UCHE NWOSU’S DISQUALIFICATION*

The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has dismissed the Appeal filed by Ugwumba Uche Nwosu challenging his disqualification by the Federal High Court which had earlier on August 19th, 2019 disqualified Ugwumba Uche Nwosu on grounds of double nomination.

The Court of Appeal today October 28th in Appeal No. CA/A/785/2019 Ugwumba Uche Nwosu Vs. Action Peoples Party, upheld the judgement of the lower court disqualifying Ugwumba Uche Nwosu as a candidate in the 2019 Imo Governorship election on grounds of double nomination which now confirms that all the votes received by Uche Nwosu in the 2019 Imo Governorship election are void and of no effect.
Recall that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu had on 23rd August 2019 and 30th August 2019 filed two separate Notices of Appeal at the Court of Appeal Abuja for himself and on behalf of Action Alliance against the Judgment of the Federal High Court. However, when Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s lawyer was challenged on the authority of filing an Appeal on behalf of Action Alliance without due authorization from Action Alliance leadership, he applied to withdraw Action Alliance both as an Appellant and as Respondent and Action Alliance was struck out by the Court of Appeal accordingly.
The Court of Appeal after hearing the Appeal of Uche Nwosu in an unanimous decision dismissed the Appeal for lacking in merit and resolved all the issues in favour of the Respondents.
The Court of Appeal agreed with the Judgment of the lower court that Uche Nwosu was guilty of double nomination having participated and obtained nomination from Action Alliance and All Progressive Congress.
The Court agreed that it is immaterial that Uche Nwosu was not the candidate eventually put forward by All Progressive Congress for the election but having obtained a restraining order from a court of competent jurisdiction against APC from submitting any other name other than his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission, in the eyes of the law he remains the candidate until the order is set aside. The Court agreed that Uche Nwosu was hedging his political fortune by getting a restraining order against INEC in his favour as the candidate of APC on the one hand while holding the nomination of the Action Alliance on the other hand against the provisions of Electoral Act 2010 on double nomination.
The Court of Appeal affirmed the decision of the lower court that Uche Nwosu’s double nomination is illegal and void ab initio and therefore void ad ifinitum and statute of limitation cannot be a defence to illegality.
The effect of the judgment is that Uche Nwosu was never a candidate in the 2019 Imo State governorship election and therefore all the votes purportedly cast in his favour are null, void and of no effect.
The Supreme Court has earlier last week upheld the withdrawal of Action Alliance as a party in the 2019 Imo Gubernatorial Election Petition. Independent Candidature is not recognized under Nigeria Constitution.
Consequently , the judgement of the Court of Appeal coupled with the earlier Judgment of the Supreme Court have apparently signaled the end of the road for Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s gubernatorial adventure
