UMUOYIMA COMMUNITY WITHDRAW INDIGENSHIP CONFERRED ON UCHE NWOSU. Declares total Support for Ihedioha. The Umuoyima Autonomous Community in Owerri Municipal Council yesterday Oct 08th 2019 denounced the indigenship right earlier confered on Chief Uche Nwosu, the Chief of Staff to the Former Governor and the Flag Bearer of the Action Alliance in the 2019 Governorship Election. Presenting an address of the Community on behalf of the Traditional Ruler HRH Eze Theophilus Uba, the Legal Adviser, Barr. C K Uba noted that the Community painstainkly took the decision to denounce Chief Uche Nwosu after a Critical look and evaluation of the Steps, activities and policies of the Present Government led by His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON which has proved that Imo is back on track and now on the path of proper development, remarking that the Amazing double Victory at the Polls and its confirmation at the Tribunal are testimonies to the undeniable fact that the Governor's emergence is of Divine appointment. He added that the decision to adopt Uche Nwosu earlier was done out of Frustration for the fact that since 23years, no Son or Daughter of the Community has occupied any Government sensitive position except for the appointment of Nze Chidi at the twilight of the former administration which was also occasioned by the adoption. The decision which was a unianimous decision was taken through a motion moved by the Chairman of the Elders Council of the Community, Elder Joseph Anokwu, which was also Seconded by the President General of the Community, Chief Christian Azuma Anukam and another Elder of the Community, Elder Ofurum Ejikemechukwu, adopted by the Community and rattified by the Traditional Ruler HRH Eze Theophilus Uba. Speaking on his own, the Traditional Ruler HRH Eze Theophilus Uba advised Communities that made similar mistakes to retrace their steps, adding that the Emergence of the Governor as Stated in the address is Divine and further called on other Governorship Candidates to shield their sword for the interest of peace and allow the State to continue in progress. Responding, the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Uche Onyeaguocha remarked that he has received the message of the Community and promised that the message will get to the Government. Barr. Uche also assured them that the Government will not forget them in the Scheme of things. The event which took place at the Hall of Umuoyima Autonomous Community also had in attendance HRH Eze Clinton R. Uboegbulam, Traditional Ruler of Umuorornjo Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Peter Ezechukwu Njamanze, Traditional Ruler of Amawom Autonomous Community, Hon. Chief Ebere Chukwuemeka (ABJ) Interim Management Committee Chairman of Owerri Municipal, Hon. Kingsley Nze, Secretary of the Community, Men, Women and Youths of the Community. Akim Peters

Roman Abramovich backed Chelsea academy despite 'pessimism', says Michael Emenalo Michael Emenalo has thanked Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich for backing his wisdom not to "abandon" the academy. The former Chelsea technical director has revealed one of the club's managers suggested ditching it during his tenure because it "seemed like a waste" of funds. In part due to a transfer ban, Chelsea's hierarchy installed Frank Lampard as manager this season with an ethos of promoting the club's wealth of youth talent. It is so far paying off with Chelsea pushing for a top-four place and the likes of Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount breaking into the England senior set-up. Emenalo, who left Chelsea to join Monaco in 2017, told the Daily Telegraph: "It's amazing what is unfolding. "What's happened with these boys, you can only feel pride. Not just for the boys, but thankful for the effort a lot of people who have had a lot of input into all of these boys succeeding. "I defended the academy when there was pressure and doubt and pessimism. A manager came in to make a presentation to say the academy was not necessary. The argument was it takes too long, and that the owner should stop pumping money into it because it seemed like a waste. "I had to fight against it. This is where I am very, very proud of the owner, because of the trust he had me and the willingness to listen to me and give the academy time. He would not abandon it. He believed in it and in me. "Of course, you always need some luck and that luck has come with the transfer ban and with the appointment of Frank and his assistants, Jody Morris and Joe Edwards. It doesn't mean it will be smooth sailing from here, it just shows that it is possible. "The policy was always to have the players grow together and to grow the culture. You saw it at Barcelona with Xavi, [Andres] Iniesta and [Sergio] Busquets. You build a really, really wonderful football culture - a Chelsea culture - and this is where identities come from and these guys will play and care for this club for you to come." https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11668/11831285/roman-abramovich-backed-chelsea-academy-despite-pessimism-says-michael-emenalo

Counter protest.... These are paid protesters Las Las they will be the ones to bear the brunt. On a serious note there's no opposition in Abia state, if there's they would have capitalized on those dump sites littered everywhere in Aba by hiring tippers, excavators and so on to clear them... Thereby winning hearts of Abians.... Just the way Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Hon. Ezenwa Onyewuchi and Imo PDP did when emperor Rochas iberiberism refused to get rid of refused dumps in Owerri |

Imo Govt set to honour Sam Okwaraji AS part of events lined up for his 30th memorial anniversary of the late Super Eagles midfielder, Samuel Okwaraji, the Imo State Government has announced the partnership with the Sam Okwaraji Foundation. Chairman of Imo State Sports Commission, Fan Ndubuoke, disclosed this yesterday when members of the Samuel Okwaraji Foundation paid him a courtesy visit to solicit support of Imo State to honour the late footballer. It would be recalled that Okwaraji, until his death at 25, was a Master Degree holder in International Law from Rome. He slumped and died on August 12, 1989 during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against Angola at the National Stadium, Lagos. Speaking on behalf of Imo State Government, Ndubuoke said the memorial event became necessary following Okwaraji’s patriotism to the country. He further said that the commission and the foundation would hold meetings to work out modalities to make the event successful. He described the late Okwaraji as an exceptional person who combined education with his football career and excelled in both endeavours. In his reaction, former Super Eagles captain Henry Nwosu lauded Imo State Government for endorsing the project and said it would motivate others to do more for the country. “I was the Super Eagles captain when Okwaraji came into the national team and since his untimely death in Lagos, the Federal Government has not done much to honour him or to take care of his family, which he described as unfortunate,” Nwosu said. https://thenationonlineng.net/imo-govt-set-to-honour-sam-okwaraji/amp/
