The only play Bolt had was to lower fares way below the prevailing price system so that they could compete... I heard artisans /mechanics, rewire techs are quite pricey overthere. So, as a player in that industry , you need to charge premium too, so that you can get some profit. |

TechToyin: How can I contact you sir You can dm me. Please, I don't have a job to give you. I'm just sharing tips on how to cut off endless job scouting draining your energy and scarce resources especially in Kaduna. Look for the hidden niches. If your sciences is sharp .. you can clean 80-100k monthly without breaking a sweat. At least , that will help you in keeping with personal expenses (feeding, transport n co) Focus on your immediate skillsset. Then you build from there. If I was a website guy , this is what i would do . I will walk up to 10 organisations daily. Show them my portfolio and the kind of Websites I can build for them.. some will tell you "they are not interested " but keep the number going. Charge them moderately. 4-5 page website is.ok. In 5 days. You have scouted 50 places Vifredo Pareto law. At least 20% of those leads will get back to you. Out of 10 leads at least 5 will score. |

TechToyin: I can speak Yoruba Yes my sciences are sharp I was actually referring to Hausa. That means you are bi-lingual ( your mother tongue and that of your resident location) , you are at a serious advantage. What's your discipline in school? Since you are a Web guy. I'm suprised you are still looking for a job. Anyways.. that's the first step I outlined below. You don't need to borrow money again. If you want a salaried job based in Kaduna. You are going to import it from Lagos. It might take some time, but it needs mental toughness, perseverance which you didn't display.. your first rejection and you sounded frustrated. You need to be in high spirits, Padre. . You need to toughen up. You need money to survive, the easiest job to get since your sciences are sharp, Your Mathematics must be very sharp, like Razor sharp to be considered. start as a Science teacher in a good private school.. Your target is Kaduna North. Time is of essence. . Already gave you a hint on one of the schools. I don't know whether you stay in Barnawa/Kaduna south. The big 8 schools in Kaduna North. When that is settled, then I will give you the skills needed to ping a job from Lagos while resident in Kaduna. |

TechToyin: This morning I woke up on the bright side, hopeful about starting my journey after NYSC.
I saw the notice about Kaduna Polytechnic and prepared myself fully. I borrowed ₦5,000 just for transport and photocopying, since they said we must bring 10 photocopies of all credentials. I printed my CV, wrote an application letter, and made 10 copies each of my NYSC certificate, statement of result, and other documents.
This was my first application after NYSC, so I gave it my all.
When I got to the Central Administrative Block, to my shock, they simply told me it was closed.
Just yesterday, there was no notice of any deadline. Today, I’m left stranded — transport wasted, photocopies wasted, money wasted.
Right now, I honestly feel depressed. I struggled to put this money together, only for everything to go down the drain without even getting the chance to submit.
Sometimes it feels like the system doesn’t care how much we struggle as young people trying to build our future. Your moniker implies you are from the southwest extraction. Can you speak the local language? With or without. You can get a job for yourself.. I will advise you to shun anything government for now.. it's mostly by connections. Zero merit. If you are ready, reply the meesage n I will give you tips to start from scratch. |

Any explanation That's the only Nigerian city cited in that report. It means it is quite significant to the international community, that should tell you something. Yes, there are areas where improvements are needed. But ask yourself, where are the other Nigerian states and their governors , they can't be found on the international map... If other states and governors were pushing their weights, Lagos won't have this population issue with its attendant challenges. |

Biodun1929: Lol...sorry, this usually happens to me on Uber app, it has never happened to me on Indrive. Majority of my indrive riders are always ontime and respect time. Na Uber riders dey always feel like say you be their driver. Do you know yesterday, I got one ride from Mangoro to Isaac John in Ikeja. I was at akowonjo. I called this girl to ask if she wants me to come, cos the pickup time was 20 minutes. She said I should come. I blow reach her estate for mangoro. As I was about to let her know I was 2 minutes away, she cancelled the ride. Chai. I wan cry. This cancellation thing always happens to me on Uber, never on InDrive. You shouldn't go more than 2km or 10 mins to pick a rider . Max 3km. If you are going to exceed that. It must be a very juicy trip , like a trip that can give you @ least 40% of your daily target earnings. Uber will wear you and your car out with out of range trips. Be careful with that app. |

Though coming to lock up houses might be overboard. But a lot of Nigerians are very difficult when it comes to community projects. They don't like paying for security and developmental fees. For instance, in Lagos, I'm suprised when they have to coerce adults with cars to pay for their street security. A single breach could cause burglers to go away with dozens of brainboxes and other car items worth millions. But if there's cooperation, such incidents can be averted. |

Politics › Re: How Tinubu Destroyed His 2027 Reelection Chances - Lesson For Next President by northbird: 2:23pm On Jul 03, 2025 |
franchasng: It is funny when a lizard thinks and sees himself as a crocodile.
Tinubu became Nigeria's President through the help of Northern Nigeria political elites.
The first person that gave Tinubu's 2023 Presidential ambition life was no other person but Mallam Nasir El Rufai who single handedly convinced Northern Governors to allow Presidency go back to Southern Nigeria and also convinced Buhari to stop the emergence of former Senate President Ahmed Lawan as APC Presidential flag bearer.
After El Rufai's masterstroke, comes that of Aisha Buhari who convinced her husband to support Tinubu for the sake of posterity, as insiders revealed that Aisha reminded Buhari of how Tinubu played key role in his emergence as President in 2015. According to those very close to both Aisha and Buhari, they said Aisha Buhari's continuous emotional appeal to her husband made Buhari confused because Buhari never wanted Tinubu to succeed him, but with Aisha's constant pressure, Buhari became confused and decided to remain neutral.
The North never wanted Tinubu to emerge President but they were helpless in the sense that if they refused to support Tinubu, the Presidency would slip into the hands of the opposition, which is a Haram in politics; it is better to allow power remain in your party than go the opposition way. For this singular reason, all the Northern APC politicians decided to work for Tinubu hoping that Tinubu's health would fail before the end of his first tenure so that their brother Shettima would take over from Tinubu like Goodluck did from Yaradua.
This paved way for Tinubu.
Next, the INEC Chairman Yakubu.
This man did the final job for Tinubu
Without Northerners, Tinubu stood no chance as he was already preparing to decamp to SDP his spare car should the APC Primaries failed to favor him.
Despite all the help from the incumbent government to Tinubu, Tinubu still failed to clinch the required vote because of his Muslim-Muslim ticket and his notorious personality as a Lagos political godfather which many Nigerians despise, INEC had to breach their election promises by switching off the polling unit result upload for only Presidential election results just to give room for results to be manipulated manually in favor of Tinubu, at the end, Tinubu was declared winner against too many odds.
Instead of Tinubu to surprise Nigerians and shut the mouth of his former critics by delivering quality leadership as an unpopular President, Tinubu allowed political sycophants and their praisesinging to get into his head and he started seeing himself as a demigod bigger than Nigeria. Tinubu became too arrogant to a fault and started seeing Nigeria as his newly conquered territory after Lagos state.
He talks with absolute arrogance and unleashed arrogant media handlers and social media influencers and support groups who kept rubbing Tinubu's demigod status on the faces of all Nigerians, as they bragged that nobody can challenge Tinubu, while some even hailed Tinubu as the god of politics who is only second after God himself, you can imagine the arrogance and effrontery
Next, Tinubu in his own hallucinations forgot the Northern politicians that made him President and decided to take Buhari's nepotism to a whole new level in his own regime by stuffing his Yoruba tribesmen into every key and viable political positions in Nigeria. It wouldn't have mattered if these people he was busy appointing into all available positions were performing, Nigerians wouldn't have cared much, but they were not performing at all as the economy sank deeper and deeper while Tinubu's team used media to lie to themselves that all is well, that soon Nigeria will become Dubai.
Tinubu's continued directionless policies continued to worsen Nigeria's economy, more Nigerians got pushed into poverty and Japa became the greatest achievement of every Nigerian, those in the healthcare sector started looking for any available country to migrate to at any cost just to evade the dying Nigeria's economy under Tinubu.
When opposition complain, Tinubu's hired social media and Internet data team countered them and shut them down with demeaning words, boasting that whether they like it or not, that Tinubu will be reelected and after Tinubu, he would single handedly install his Vice or National Security Adviser as the next President to continue with his so called master blueprint to turn Nigeria to Japan
Tinubu then worsened his political woes by betraying Nasir El Rufai, Buhari's bloc while shunning the Southeasterners completely as he and his supporters always bragged that Easterners have no say or weight in Nigeria's politics. Tinubu started seeing Wike as the biggest political asset that he needs to succeed politically and therefore, he only needed to do a coastal highway from Lagos to SouthSouth, award pipeline security contract to one of the strongest Niger Delta ex militant leader Tompolo to win the SouthSouth, while he did one or two things in the Middlebelt hoping to also win that region. You obviously don't understand politics. You think the coalition is about Nigerians or the masses. |
