Politics / Re: See why the Coastal Highway In Nigeria Is Impossible by northbird: 1:03pm
Christistruth00:

What you guys are doing is wicked to the bone

Niger Delta is the goose that Lays Nigeria's Golden eggs and after 40years FG wants to do something Substantial for them by building them a Coastal Highway and you are now fighting against it

You no Shame?

Yet You saw Buhari building Railway for his People even to Niger using the Niger Delta's resources

Don't you know that at least Half of what was used to build Abuja was supposed to have gone to the Niger Delta as infrastructure for the sake of Fairness and non exploitation?

FG has Cheated Niger Delta so badly for decades to the extent that they don't even argue about it again they only give them fake promises to improve their behavior towards the Niger Delta and because of a Single Road you are here fighting

Blame your incompetent governors and compromised local Chiefs. All Niger Delta states receive oil derivation funds apart from the monthly Allocation from the FG.
What have they done so far with it?.

Ogun state doesn't receive 60 % of what Delta gets. Yet, its the manufacturing hub of the country.
When are you going to hold the leaders of the Niger Delta responsible for the gross neglect of its own people.

The challenge with drivers who get stuck in ehailing is "they don't take time off".

Driving typically drains mental energy which is much needed in critical thinking and mapping out exit solutions.
Not every ehailing driver can be a fleet manager. ( reason why not every musical artiste can float a record label) .One needs a specialised skillset to handle cars and rental drivers wahala.

And with the current cost of cars, the ROI on renting cars is not encouraging..

Some will ask why the time off, it's needed to make reflections and allow a flow of the idea stream.
But when drivers still do 6 full days in a week , that will never happen.
If you are strategic, what you earn in 6 days can be earned in 4 days.
giving you 2-3 FREE days /week to brainstorm.

EXCLUSIVE: Bolt Nigeria lays off nearly half of its staff, says it’s part of a restructuring process......this thing dey hit bolt really hard oo
But that there 25% is too much for me Cos I can't imagine take a rider and then you give the rider discount and still take 20% commission from me so I am the one to take the burnt for the discount.......they are not serious yet

. As per rider discount, you are not taking the brunt.
Bolt is giving riders part or all of the commission you were supposed to pay.

Let's run a scenario. If the trip ends 5000 ..

Bolt says " collect 3500 From RiderX , Bolt will add
1500."

From that trip, you are meant to pay Bolt 25% ( its actually around 24.3 - 24.6%) commission. This amounts to 1,250. This is the amount they gave as discount to the rider.

So Bolt adds the remaining 250 naira as CREDIT to your Pocket balance in the app. There's no confusion.

As per downsizing.,Benin n PH staff were mostly affected, PH and Benin are not really lucrative for ehailing, PH is overrated, a lot of it's residents can't afford ehailing.

As per Lagos, Bolt has not been making money like it used to. Coupled with the senseless blocking of their revenue agents ( drivers) on flimsy issues on acceptance rates n driver's score.
Let's say you have 4000 drivers delivering, then you pursued 1500 out of pride. Obviously, a revenue drop should be expected.

Bolt can't leave Nigeria esp Lagos grin..I feel the editor / journalist just added that rider to make the article sensational cool

No one is above mistake but the Lady should also learn to take responsibility for what happened. She paid you to take her to her destination and not to watch over her property while in your Car, you have done your best to see if the phone can be found, let her go to the police to track her phone to know who the criminal was.

That's the f....ing entitlement mentality Bolt gave these riders..
Too proud and condescending in their approach..
Adults that don't want to take responsibility..

Good day veterans in the house, please I need explanation on rider discount and others as seen in this picture

Rider discount is money ( from the commission you are meant to pay Bolt) given to riders ..It's pretty simple and straightforward.

Thank you for your response. Much appreciated.

However, do you think I should choose InDrive over Uber? Or I should register on both.

Due to my inexperience, I was thinking that I should go for a platform that helps me estimate the trip fares as I am not knowledgeable about prices that would favour me.

Start with the main apps.. Uber/Bolt.

Don't chase targets.

Work only when there's surge. As a newbie, if you are working on Bolt/Uber without surge, you are just flogging the car with minimal gains. E hailing cpys won't tell you this, they are just going to confuse you with deceptive ads on Facebook .

Go to areas you know and are familiar with.
If you reside on the island. I will advise you take trips only on the island for now.
If you need a list of all the terrible areas. Go and read back on the thread .

Always investing in the land that they hate you with passion.

Some will even have mansions in lagos while they're living in mud or old house in the village.

Instead of me to invest in yoruba land i will rather invest here in Abj.

Even as calm as this Abuja, am not buying any landed property. I will rather build 50 houses in Onitsha and still live as tenant here talk more of a region where am hated for being Igbo

Stop your bragging. Lagos is still the best place to get fantastic ROI rates in Nigeria.
The south east and south south is not secure and you know that.

It takes men without a conscience to ruin an investment of $200 million in a country where 33 million people live in multidimensional penury! If that road runs through the beach front of Landmark, that will successfully mark the end of the resort.

The govt has the right of way to 250m from the shoreline .
Technically, the beach/ water belongs to the FG.
Go and confirm. No structure of landmark was destroyed.
The lounge that suffered the highest loss is not even owned by Landmark.

That singular acceptance suspension will really affect Indrive because a lot of drivers will rather take timely surge trips on Bolt than wait endlessly bidding for trips on Indrive.

@ realtol..
Is your car sound? Engine ,gear, AC
can you drive properly?
Is your other partner working.?
Do you have savings to cover wife n son expense for @ least 2 months.,? Your decision lies in those answers

BTW,ehailing prices in Abuja is rubbish.. Don't try going to Abuja. Average residents in Abuja are not financially bouyant.

I wonder how drivers on Bolt make ends meet in Abuja. The same corrolla, dirty fares.

But on the flip side, it's a good move from Bolt, more drivers will port back ... a lot of drivers don't mind paying 25% .. provided they are guaranteed a stream of back to back trips which is a trademark of Bolt .

The competition really hit Bolt. grin. Riders will be ordering, and drivers will be 15 -20 mins away, something unheard of on Bolt.
Riders will order in some areas and Bolt will be busy. grin...
Indrive mopped up every available tool ( drivers and their cars) and engaged them.

I learnt from this episode. No one is really indispensable..

Bolt waking up from slumber. Indrive has taken up most of their drivers.

As Gen.zodd mentioned, ehailing has evolved. The days of acceptance rate n driver rate n destination bla bla are gone. grin..
Every driver is first concerned about his vehicle before any app out there.

Hardex that I bought a keg 15k in 2022. is selling for 30k presently. Parts are out of the roof

Seller (my colleague ) was arrested in Lagos, luckily for him he took them to the dealer he got the car from, dealer was arrested too..mehn d whole thing became messy..The problem now is they have all been moved to ph..When this whole thing started, I did not really show my h concern until when they were moved to PH, on a flight o..Police put you for plane, na then I know say wahala done happen..My colleague told us d car was toks when he bought it, d car clean die so nobody argue am but now it seems d car na naija used..I think the dealer sold it to him as toks....the story long sha..The good thing is, he has a good reputation here and my MD has involved d company lawyer to get him out, but it's taking too long..Pls be careful.

That's a hell of a coincidence, car stolen in PH, returns back to PH after some years to another owner in the same PH where the crime was committed.

Police will not just release suspect in this type of matter except they compromise investigation. This is a case of armed robbery and murder.

In the face of the law, the Police will assume they are cospirstors, reason proper investigation need to be done to ascertain they are innocent.

for example the value of Corolla is about 4million in the market and you went to the dealer and pay 2million or 1.5million the Police will have reasonable suspicion to believe you intentionally bought a stolen vehicle.

Alot of has to be done during investigation to unravel the truth.

What I don't understand is, I'm sure there is a central motor registry. Licensing office too. The vin and chassis numbers are still intact. So how were they able to bypass the vehicle registration..

If it was a serious case then, I'm sure the chassis n reg no. would have been filed with the police.

Most dealers can easily fall victim of this. Because most of them just look for cuts on car deals nowadays.. not knowing the car might have issues.

stop talking like this because what you said here in your post self doesn't make any sense......why will any sane person leave something that will pay him 720k per month for 250k ......see what is with this uber job that I have seen is the calibre of people doing it thus, as they are seeing the money they are feeling like they have arrived whereas it is just a stepping stone. If one can put the same dedication into improving him/her self as someone earn 250k you will see that uber job is better off

This is what I wanted to mention " the danger of staying in the comfort zone".. This happens to most drivers..

250k/month might excite maybe a graduate trainee , but not for people having over 10 years post nysc.
It's not even the driving per se. But the ability to control your time.
That freedom is priceless.

we've dealt with this topic over and over here, let me not stress.

How many uber drivers have jappaed compare to salary earners?
See nurses or lab attendants earning 80k/month in Lagos turn big girls under 1 year of relocating.

A lot of drivers are better off in terms of remuneration.
I stated some leakages up there. Without proper planning, huge revenues might not mean much.

Baz, you hv been away for some time. Things have changed. You can't be earning 80k/month in Lagos and think of travelling out.

I smile when I look at the suit and tie folks at V.I grin.. in the evening, they all run to Indrive when Bolt/Uber is surging. grin
In terms of remuneration, a lot of drivers are better off.
The challenge is to look for the leakages and plan properly.

Personally, I will suggest drivers to have an Ajo or Automatic deduct savings plan. This helps in prudent spending and to maximise the income left.

I'm not against socialising, but I know some guys that take 2 baba dudu @ least 5 times a week with extra baggage ,call girls, shisha n other stuff. Give or take that's a shortage of @ least 150k monthly.

But a daily Ajo will check any excessive spending.

Using Indrive has taught me patience, I don't bother myself anymore.

I go only to places where there are no problems. I don't allow any app to rush me again. Easy..No rushing again. 5 or 6 trips .I'm done.
