Energy is a major product, and that straight accounts for over 20% of world energy passes through that strait. A blockade will be a big disaster for world economy due to upward trend of oil price.

The dollar value is based on demand and supply and backed by nothing, and the petro dollar drives it. A blockade is about less demand which will put it on a downward trend.

So, it’s not logical to use the demands of just one country to tumble the world economy. In a case of further escalation, Iran still has BIG targets that have not been hurt that if escalation should go all out, energy infrastructures across the Middle East will be doomed, and who will all those affected? The world!
