A week after protest was held in the Ghanaian capital Accra to protest a failing economy, another one has hit the country's second largest city Kumasi on the same theme.

Dubbed the 'Yabre' (We are fed up) demo the protest, organized by the country's biggest opposition, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) saw hundreds of demonstrators mostly dressed in black and red and bearing message-bearing placards.

Some demonstrators said they were out to protest in the hope of mounting pressure on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led government to resolve Ghana’s frustrating power crisis as well as the ailing economy.

NPP vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and some top brass in the NPP were present.

Eyewitness reports say the central Kejetia district of Ghana's cultural capital was brought to a standstill as the demonstrators thronged the streets.


Yabre Protests
Kumasi is a stronghold of the New patriotic party and pundits believe the protest is both a great pre-campaign tool as well as a reminder to President John Mahama to do better in resolving the many problems the average Ghanaian is faced with on a daily basis, especially the energy crisis. Ghana goes to the polls next year.

APC have a long list of well qualified individual who on their own merit can be president comfortably. Stop crying over spilled milk.

Don't forget all these favorites of yours will be very active and making their own contributions in a Buhari's Presidency. Certainly they will not have such privilege under Jonathan.

So why are you not supporting a candidate that will bring Fashola and others closer to service?

Buhari is unelectable. Give Fashola the ticket so that when you talk about Change it makes sense, win or loose and that will prepare Fashola and APC better for victory in 2019!

Now the party is in disarray and they may not even take part in the election because Buhari will be disqualified soon!

Incumbent PDP Govs that moved to APC are given return ticket eg Ahmed of Kwara.
APC Senators that were PDP before they lost out got return ticket eg Barnabas Germade (fmr pdp boss)
Umana Umana of Akwa Ibom that has been part of Akpabio governt since 2007 got ticket for Governorship
The list is inexhaustable. So why will that of President Jonathan be different considering the norms in APC?

Yes! Am back after the NL politics Mods sent me on exile for 61days because of my anti-APC stance. I hate hypocrisy and lies which are the main weapons of APC and their e-rats!
This APC comprising of the then CPC were practically looking for the neck of Jega to cut in 2011 election when oga Jona was declared winner! But now that Jega has been configured to run their evil plot of rigging through PVC politics and apc doctored card readers, jega has suddenly become a Saint.
The question now is: must jega conduct this election? Can't he be replaced by a neutral fellow? For an umpire to declare that over 28m pvc were not yet distributed a week to election and still insisted that he was ready to conduct the election on 28th Feb is enough reason to sack him. Jega Must go!!
