Trut:so if lagos state government is from APC why will they coordinate with FG to fight the scourge. I think he is trying to bring politics into the situation, which fashola speech dealt with during the independence celebration. And that says a lot about pdp-led government on fighting boko haram menace because they will always drag us into politics in all their doings. |
So what will metuh or what is his name will say abt d effort of lagos state government to fight the virus |

ABOUT 65 houses were razed, yesterday, rendering many homeless with others injured as People's Democratic Party, PDP, supporters clashed in Loko, Katsina- Ala Local Government Area of Benue State. The latest crisis in Katsina-Ala is coming on the heels of moves by the people of Loko and PDP to recall Mrs Hembadon Amena representing Katsina-Ala West constituency in Benue State House of Assembly over alleged anti-party activities. Vanguard gathered from an eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, that crisis erupted "when a supporter of the embattled lawmaker, Mr. Shiaondo Ukor, who is chairman of Motorcycle Hirers Association at the Daudu unit, allegedly accosted one Teryange, a commercial motorcycle rider and his employee. "Ukor asked him to hand over the keys of his motorbike to him on the ground that he (Teryange) disrespected him by joining forces with some people to unseat Mrs. Amena. "As the two argued to a point of exchanging blows, they attracted the attention of passers-by who joined the fray and the fight escalated." According to the source, Mr. Ukor was alleged to have moved with his supporters to the home of the youth leader of Ugber Mr. Aondoaseer Ornguze and razed down his house after beating up his family members. The source said: "His action sparked a reprisal attack and further escalation of the fighting and burning down of the houses of notable and vocal members of the party in the area. "The fighting is still on with many persons injured, while over 65 houses have been razed already, as I speak to you." When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Deputy Superintendent, DSP, Daniel Ezeala, said he had received reports on the razing of thatched houses in the affected area last night, adding that he was still waiting for full details of the crisis. On her part, Mrs. Amena confirmed the story, saying the trouble was caused by those who wanted to recall her for no just cause. She said the matter had been reported to the Police in Katsina-Ala and Makurdi. m.naij.com/news/55853.html |

s story Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has linked what he termed the warm attitude of Nigerians towards corruption, to one of the plagues militating against the progress of the country. Amaechi, weekend, in Port Harcourt, on why he dumped Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for All Progressives Congress, APC, said that Nigerians celebrate corruption. "We celebrate corruption. That is part of the problems of this country." He explained that his fight was about promoting accountability, transparency in government and good governance, adding that the quality of leadership was part of the reasons he left PDP. He said he also left PDP when it became clear to him that the President had no development programme for Rivers State. He said: "The South-South president is the man who feeds me. I had to fight for the work on the East-West Road. The South-South president should have voted money for the road in 2011. Instead of Niger Delta benefiting from his government, we are losing. What has the President done for Rivers State? Our sin for the delay of the international airport is that we are vocal. They don't like us. "They took Soku oil wells and 41 oil wells from Etche to Abia State. Should I remain in that kind of party? Virtually everything that was coming to Rivers State had been taken to Bayelsa State. World Bank confirmed to me that they have confirmed the loan for water. You deny Rivers people opportunity to have water in their homes just because they are quarreling with Amaechi," he said. He said it was shocking that the Federal Government could ground helicopters it gave approval for the state to acquire to intensify the anti-oil theft crusade. "That I am still alive functioning as governor of Rivers State is by the grace of Almighty God . They can keep their federal might. I hear they say by the time they finish with Amaechi, he will know there is federal mighty," he added. He said the Federal Government was yet to refund money expended on federal projects in the state, adding "We did Ikwerre Road fly over, Interchange at Obikwere, Port Harcourt Owerri Road, Ada George Road. All these are federal projects we have done for which the money had not been refunded." On the financial status of the state, he said Rivers State was not broke but facing some financial difficulties traced to diversion. "We are under pressure but not broke," he said. m.naij.com/news/55328.html |
