So that was too much for you to spend and to the extent that you couldn't order anything for yourself but a bottle of Schweppes for 1K? You seem like a cheapo or a miser. If I were her, I wouldn't pick up your call again either. I'm not saying someone should be on a date with you and be ordering expensive food but what she ordered wasn't costly and if you can't afford that, then you've no business taking anyone out on a date.

BOTH of you are red flags. It's likely that she wasn't interested from the get-go, while you are a cheapo/miser/stingy somebody anyway.

You know there's no scientifically proven herb that neutralizes snake venom but you're mentioning herbs. Why not tell loved ones to rush people to the hospital right away? That should be the only thing you should be encouraging, and for Nigerian hospitals to not turn people away during such situations, and to always have anti-venom in their departments. In a country where snakes are prevalent, there's no reason why they shouldn't have any anti-venom ready to be used during these emergencies.

For the sake of the child, inform your brother. Since a child/his child is involved, he should know. At least if anything happens to her due to her mother's refusal to take care of her properly, or neglect, the father would know who to hold accountable. It's a good thing you're around them to have witnessed this. If you're able to get more information from your niece about the type of care she's receiving from her mother, do that, then tell the father. If not, just tell the father about this incident.

Does your husband like shrimp? My loctician is a Jamaican lady who doesn't like shrimp, nor seafood in general. She's also a vegetarian and doesn't eat meat. I love Jamaican food and can drive hours to get good jerk chicken with rice and peas if they've good reviews, so I know Jamaicans eat meat and seafood, but was shocked when she told me she doesn't. She's a seventh-day Adventist, however; I'm not sure if these are a part of their diet restrictions. It's rather interesting to find a Jamaican who doesn't eat seafood and meat.

This story is so weird and tragic. Where did the snake come from? And with all the snakes parading Nigeria, why do they not have anti-venom or means to save someone with a snake bite? Terrible.
