What are you asking? Is the OP's question about confirming whether they exist? I think anyone with sense and in this present day and age would know that they do (and I don't think anyone in the thread has said they don't), so of course, they exist, and scripture doesn't say they don't either. There're many verses in the Bible in both the old and new testament that talks about them, basically forbidding them and rendering them powerless, which is one of the points of that verse. As for what the babalawos told the OP, if his female friend is indeed a prostitute, it should not take rocket science or a soothsayer to know that it's possible that she has jammed some type of negativity from one or more of the men she has slept with, especially in a country like Nigeria where people are into different evil practices and rituals, including the babalawos themselves. The men whom she has slept with sef, who knows how many people they've slept with and the entities attached to them? People don't know that when they sleep around, they're practically sleeping with the people those people have also slept with and the energies they carry. It's up to his friend to do away with this destructive lifestyle, then go to a Bible-believing church for deliverance, along with prayer and fasting. I say this not because of what any babalawo who strive to play God and to instill fear in people told the OP, but it's what any sensible person and who believes in God almighty would advice her to do because of the lifestyle she has been living. I'm so glad someone is saying this! Many Nigerian Pastors now only preach about relationships, perhaps because that's what sells. All I need to do is listen to a clip for a few seconds and they'll be talking about men and women, or relationship this, relationship that. It's fine to use relationship examples but making a whole sermon about relationships is odd. This is why I stay listening to Dr. Charles Stanley (r.i.p) and other American Pastors who preach the word of God. Nigerian Pastors are a different story.

Telling stories like this to prevent women from leaving men who chose to disrespect their marital vows is something else. The odd thing is you or whoever wrote that didn't blame the man who was at fault but you're somehow blaming the woman for leaving the adulterer.

As for her, I'll commend her for leaving the man if she thought that was the right thing to do for herself and her kids. Her only mistake was not taking the time to vet the next men properly, but other than that kudos to her for leaving. The man had only apologised because he got caught, not because he was apologetic and remorseful. Had she continued the marriage, he most likely would've continued his cheating.
