the concept of the president having ADC is not a nigerian thing, it is done outside Nigeria too.
|
We like sensationalising things. Ali baba can call his Dogs any name, he lives in his own house (compound) that is enclosed and therefore is not constituting any action that can breach the peace. The guy who named his dog buhari lives in a neighbourhood and his neighbour's father is named Buhari, then he went further to write the name Buhari on his dog and paraded it where his neighbour will see it. His neighbour reported to police and police charged him to court stating that the action was likely to cause breach of peace. As usual, most people did not bother to get the full gist, they rather jumped on the gist that the police arrested the man for naming his dog after President Buhari and the internet has been agog. Social media is supposed to help propagate information but even as easy as it is to get information, people dont bother to get the full gist, they just flow with what they want to believe. |
Please you all should hold your fire, I wish we can all get some education or knowledge whenever we visit Nairaland. Prof Wole Soyinka has been meeting with Govt and the militants, Part of the militants demand is to have international community to be part of the Negotiation. If not someone of Wole soyinka's pedigree who would you prefer to spearhead the international contacts? Whether we agree or not, Soyinka is not just a Nigerian but a Global personality who can go to any country in the world and will be listened to. There are a few others also but for some strategic reasons it may not be expedient to bring them in. e.g Emeka Anyaoku, etc. For those saying why is he going outside to talk and not saying anything in Nigeria, please always read through a topic before jumping to comment. As for those who are saying what has Wole Soyinka achieved for the country, please take your time and get information about what a Nobel Award is all about. They are very few in the world and it is not a political appointment. Wole Soyinka established Road safety in Oyo state and it was adopted nationwide, unfortunately the military deviated from his ideas and he resigned, to spite him, the military merged FRSC with police and FRSC became grossly corrupt and ineffective. Even though it has been seperated from police, it has never recovered from that misadventure. If we have an open mind, we may learn from those who know. |
Guys with Jobs are good but a guy who is smart and has potentials is better. Some girls may date a guy without job but with brains because they know that joblessness is temporary. Do you know someone can have a job now and loose it after a while. With what is happening in our country now, no job is really guaranteed. I have friends who were working in Banking, Telecoms and Oil sectors who are jobless now due to job cut occasioned by the downturn in the economy. I will advice that a guy with Job is not neccesarily a guarantee for you to be provided the good things of life. Secondly and most important, as a girl what are you bringing into a relationship. If you are not bringing anything, then just know that you will not be valued by your man. For me, I finished uni and got a teaching job in a private school. I met this guy one day at the bus stop on my way from school. We got talking and I noticed he was so smart and had a lot of ideas in his head but jobless. I asked him what his plans are as per job. He said he wanted to work for himself. We eventually started dating and to cut the long story short. We are married with kids now for four years. We now have our own school which I manage, We own a logistic and haulage company. we have properties in Lagos and PHC. Did you notice We own, We have. If you participate in building your home, you can boldly say We but if you came to meet wealth it is always my husband has, my husband owns... The choice is yours ... I rest my case |
This is great news. Elections are over, so all those weeping/cheering/cursing APC or PDP should know that political parties are vehicles used to arrive at a destination. If you enter a bus and it reaches the last bus stop, even if you refuse to come down, the driver and conductor will put off the engine and leave you in the car. This is what we need now, synergy and cooperation that will deliver development and democracy dividends. For those who will never see anything good about this govt. My advice to you is to proffer your suggestions while criticizing and uphold our leaders in prayers because we are stuck with them till 2019 at least. Kudos to the Cross River Gov and Presido. Long live Cross rivers state Long live Nigeria |
There is nobody Buhari will choose that will not be somebody's cousin or sister or brother. I have read the long post, I did not see anywhere you mentioned that the nominees are not competent. Very sorry to inform you that it is only after 4 years that you will have the power to vote Them to stay or to go. So better learn to live with them till then. |
Five highly qualified oil industry technocrats 1. Kida(Bornu- Total e&P) 2. Osagie (Edo - Shell), 3. Reginald-(Rivers - PPPRA), 4. Ahmed - Jigawa(NNPC) 5. Kachikwu - (Delta - ExxonMobil) were reccommended and Buhari chose the most qualified, You say he is Delta Igbo not real Igbo. So Far, Buhari has appointed competent technocrats to help him fix Nigeria no matter where they are from. It is cheering news that you have not faulted the competence of these appointees. Let us focus on the big picture, I believe at the end the appointments will be relatively spread. May God continue to strengthen and direct President Buhari. Nigeria will be great again. Long live Nigeria. |
Some people will stop at nothing for the hatred they have for Buhari. If the Naira crashes it will not benefit anybody. Good news is that this post is a capital Lie, The black market rate as at saturday was 222 from 245 last week monday. This country will survive, our prayers are with Buhari. For the upteenth time election is over and GEJ is history. |
The reports were submitted and GEJ had enough time to implement it, If Jonthan who set up the conference did not implement it, do you think it is Buhari that will implement it ?. |
Parade has indeed changed gear. If she was with GEJ his status constitutionally will cover her. Once out of power, it is only GEJ that is constitutionally a VIP. That is why the office of the first lady does not constitutionally exist in the first place. She should know that henceforth, it is only whan travelling with GEJ that she can get VIP treatment. |
you must know that until there are facts to prove that someone is a thief, you can call names till tommorow, it will end on Nairaland. |
The Ohaneze said they have given up on Buhari and that the igbos should look inwards. which is good. Bad situations bring out the best from people. But my question is simple, what will the Igbos do if Biafra is carved out of Nigeria that they cannot do now ? Just for the sake of discussion, If by tommorow Biafra is declared a republic. 1. Majority of the Igbos with solid investments in Nigeria will not likely go back to Biafra, they will continue doing business in Nigeria 2. The taxes Igbos will pay will increase because they are now foreigners. School fees will also increase. ( same for Nigerians but how many Nigerians are doing business in Biafra) 3. Monthly Federal allocation will cease, Ecological funds will cease. 4. The Igbos who are just surviving will most likely be repartriated. 5. Igbos in Biafra will start building infrastructure, roads, etc. 6. Igbos in Diaspora will repartriate funds for the setting up of industries 7. Exploration of oil in the Anambra basin will be pursued with vigour 8. Development of Coal and other Mineral deposits etc. Now if you look carefully items 5 - 8 is still very much achievable by the Igbos in the present Nigeria. Which is why I think The ohaneze said we should look inwards. Please can anybody who thinks otherwise share your thoughts. |
GEJ has submitted handover notes, JODA has submitted transition committee reports, based on this two reports PMB said he will pass the information gathered to Law enforcement agencies for action. I do not think PMB will for the sake of making people happy say he is probing all the former govts. Probe is normally done based on information available. Govt is a continum, If during the probe, reference is made to Yaradua or OBJ's govt, then whoever is named will be quizzed. We must remember that the essence of this probe is basically to recover the monies stolen and plug the hole. Most of GEJ sympathisers are quick to say this is a witch hunt but on the contrary, i believe this will vindicate GEJ as a person. Most of his ministers and aides exploited GEJ's disposition to do all manner of things. I have this feeling that GEJ is also shocked at the amount of monies alleged to have been stolen. There is absolutely nothing wrong with probing GEJ's govt, THat GEJ did not do so does not make it wrong. |
@eurobomber Nigeria as presently constituted cannot be split peacefully because we are so intertwined. The other option of splitting by force is not thinkable either. The best thing is solving the problem looking inwards. USSR split into several countries and infact are still splitting (Ukraine), most if not all the smaller countries are not better off economically and otherwise. Even our neighbours South Sudan split from Sudan, till date there is still strife. In Nigeria the ties that bind us are more that the ones that divide us. You do not need to co-opt the SS into any amalgam with the existing SE or igbo speaking towns. If by your argument Nigeria is not for us all, Then the region you are proposing will also not be good for us, If we do not change our mindset, what is happening in the Nigeria will also happen in the New Biafra been proposed by you. I was in Enugu when Enugu state was created from Anambra. For the first time people who were brothers suddenly started seeing themselves as stangers and in some cases enemies. civil servants had to leave Enugu for Awka, some traders even left Onitsha back to Enugu. For me, Biafra as a geographical entity may never come to fruition, but can exist as an indomitable spirit to propel igbos to excel against all odds. The 5 SE states have been governed by igbos. Monies have been allocated from federal govt and Internally Generated Revenue has also been earned. Most of these monies have not been put to good use, some have outrightly been embezzled. We cannot sincerely blame the rest of Nigeria for this. The day we stop blaming others for our problem that is the day our eyes will open to start solving them. I dare say that most of these problems are self inflicted. I will very much like an Igbo man to be the president come 2019, but my question is how will it better the lot of the Igbos?. GEJ from south- south just finished a six year reign. The contract for road construction from Yenegoa to Otuoke was just awarded in May 2015 (few days to his exit). PH Int'l airport (the only int'l airport in the SS) was still under renovation, while the others nationwide had since been completed. The Ports in the SS (Port Harcourt, Warri, Koko, Sapele, Calabar) are idle while the ones in Lagos are congested. I could go on and on. The SE had a record of having 5 senate presidents, i cannot remember anything of significance the igbos gained from this. We should grow beyond my brother or my kinsman should be this or that, to the level where we should identify what challenges we have and get the best person to address it no matter where he or she is from. ABA, ONITSHA and NNEWI at present has a huge potential to be an industrial hub in Africa, Just imagine how many industries and what is been produced by individuals on thier own. This can give you an idea of what the situation will be if LIGHT, ROAD and SECURITY is provided. If the federal govt will not give it to us, let the states join hands and do it themselves. Afterall, States repair federal roads. If govt cannot intervene then what is the purpose of govt. This idea of federal govt is not favouring the igbos is an old song. If we dont change our thinking, we will even be worse off in a "Smaller Biafra" There is a lot of tourist sites, Caves, Lakes etc. Undeveloped and untapped. You need to know how much cross river state makes yearly on its December carnival and the attendant job it creates, I have also visited other tourist site in other parts of the country. So many of them were developed either by individuals or state govt NOT Federal Govt. the SE Govt purchases between 2000 - 3000 cars (Buses, Trucks, Pickup, saloon) in a 4-year period. How many of our SE govs buy INNOSON cars which are made by our own ?? just imaging if this company has an order to produce 3000 cars, a lot of people will be gainfully employed. Do you know that bottled water is produced in all the states of south east. but go to any govt function or rally, you will be shocked when you check the label of the water you are drinking. 90% if not all are made outside the region. Will you also blame the FED govt for this ?. We must look inwards in other to solve our problems. We have our sons and daughters doing big businesses in Lagos, There must be something Lagos is doing that we are not doing. No matter what you say, they will not close shop and come back home because Federal govt does not like us. What dictates where you live and do business is simply economics. Even if you divide Nigeria today a lot of people will remain where there are. |
God created man and gave him two balls. That guy is not a man ( He aint got balls). For whatever reason he should have been man enough to call it quits than subject the girl to such a horrible experience. Good thing is that she will not die, she will survive it but make no mistake about it, Today is the guy's day, The girls day is surely gonna come. To the girl, Move on with your life, just assume that this guy is dead and will never exist in your life again. See the positive side of this break up. You know every dissapointment is a blessing. This guy could as well have poisoned/killed you and gone ahead to marry this girl. So thank God for your life and move on. The journey of life is quite long. I had a similar but more terrible experience 17 years ago, I even tried suicide but death also abandoned me. My life was in a mess until I decided to put the events behind me. Surprisingly, Once I did that, Guys started comming for my hand in marriage. About a year after the incident happened, I married an angel and today we are blessed with three wonderful kids. With the help and support of my husband, I was able to rediscover myself. I am a happy and successful wife and mother today. As for my former fiance, The lady he married left him after six years of marriage without a child. His business crumbled and he relocated to the village from Lagos. From my heart, I have forgiven him but I keep thanking God I did not marry him. |
A lot of students get distracted in school and eventually end up with poor grades. Your 3rd class does not necessarily mean you cannot get a job but your ability to motivate yourself can do the magic. It also depends on what course you studied and the kind of job you are seeking for. I can classify jobs into two categories, General and professional. A general job for example is a job that does not strictly require that you study a particular course. the position may just require any graduate that can pass aptitude test. E.g Bank, sales, management trainee, customer care etc. On the other hand proffesional jobs are course specific (fit for purpose) eg. engineering firm recruiting engineers, Accounting firm recruiting accountants, etc. Depending on the firm, they are more interested in your present analytical and hands on skills rather than the grade of your certificate, because they will give you specific training needed to be able to work. However, because of the anticipated Large number of applicants some restrictions may be introduced like class of degree, year of graduation, age, state of origin, marital status etc. As a fresh graduate with a third class, your focus should not be money but experience. Meaning that the jobs you may be able to get may not pay you much but you will get working experience. Secondly, you have taken the right step to improve yourself by going for PGD but you should not stop there. Ensure you get a masters degree after that. Also go for professional certification/membership. By the time you do this, you will be equipped to choose from a range of jobs. But it will not be easy but it is the ONLY choice you have if you intend to have a rewarding career. |
What is the moral of this story ?. some girls in similar situation has had thier education cut short and ruined by unwanted pregnancy. As a final year student how could she have unprotected sex?? she is lucky it was pregnancy, what if it was HIV. (afterall e no dey show for face)Please serve nairalanders better stories that people could learn one or two things from. I rest my case. |
OBJ it was learnt gave ASO rock money to BODE GEORGE to deliver SW to PDP but he failed and PDP lost most of the GOV seats they had earlier won from then AD. since the money could not be recovered and accounted for, the book of remembrance was opened. Govt suddenly remembered there was fraud in NPA with BODE george as chairman, fiam court tried Bode george and jailed him and the rest they say is history. Now, the same scenerio is playing out. story has it that KASHAMU collected money from GEJ to deliver SW. Bode George and other SW PDP big wigs felt the money should have been channelled otherwise. when the election was lost, the blame game began and KASHAMU could not account for the same troublesome ASO rock money. The book of remembrance has been opened and suddenly US is asking for KASHAMU. I dont know what will be his fate, but I know that any money that comes from ASO rock for SW to be delivered.....anybody we chop without delivering... na straight to jail o o o ooooooo. |
Wishing them happy married life. What a man needs is happiness 24, 7 cos life is just too stressful |
