Nreebge: Lost a dear brother and friend on the 7th of November 2019 and he will be buried today the 31st December 2019. Right from the day he died i have been wondering what life is all about. Then i realized that God is life and when we die we will return to him. Though i wake up in the middle of night, while taking shower, while walking to cry for him and my loss of such a dear brother and friend. Today am going cry again at his grave side and put up the hope to see him again when Jesus will come the second time. He was just 39 years and what makes so painful is that the wife refuses to come either to meet with the family, to explain to them how it happened even until last night few hours to the burial the lady is nowhere to be found. Precious Chidiebere KANU ,Good night my brother and friend. I can't stop crying Finally a good man was laid to rest today but his beloved wife and two little daughters did not grace his burial. Good night my brother. |

autotrader014: This is really unfortunate. I have said it before and will say it again. Suicide will multiply in Nigeria. Not because times are hard. Times were HARD way back before now. The problem now is that adults are increasingly immature and the society is increasingly frivolous.
People have no true friends, because friends now see themselves as rivals, back stabbers/biters now masquerade as friends. Problem shared now becomes public information.
There's a rat race going on and it's measured by fleeting wealth and nothing else true and lasting. Setbacks are mourned as a wasted life by those who should give love and genuine support. Men who rose through their friend’s magnanimity are now digging graves for such friends. So troubled man becomes a butt of jokes by those in whom he reposited his trust.
Calamities befall men and their friends shed tears in the morning and run them down at night. Adults now behave like children. The man can’t even tell his wife because he is sure she won’t understand. He has seen her divulge little details to her family. He has heard her eulogize wealth and curse set backs as abomination. She has a little merry heart. Men now gossip like women.
The cleric can’t be trusted because he is given to flamboyant cars and lots of worldly ambition. He rates men by their earthly successes and wealth. He can’t be trusted because wealth he says, is the ultimate blessing from God. Everyday he celebrates only the rich.
So the troubled man walks around with his troubles in his heart, smiles at all the children masquerading as adults around him. One day, he would weigh it all over again and say no, it’s enough. True and matured friends are now very scarce! No true ears to talk to in times of trouble, no honest shoulder to lay on in times of weakness. And a culmination of all these is why depression-induced suicide is on a sad rise.
Can we all rise and fight this menace called depression in truth? Can you work and encourage others to assume the role(s) of true friend(s)? Can we jointly reinstate the intergrity of the quote “Problem shared is half solved”? Be your brothers keeper Thanks ,this object lesson |

royalads: I just finished reading this content on nairametrics. The truth remains that you don't necessarily have to leave this country to make it in life. Oh and the notion that there is no good jobs around is a big lie. There are lots of good high paying jobs around. The question is, have you built yourself to land these jobs. These are not the jobs you get with your basic BSC from most Nigerian Universities.
A lot of you waste your time here being tribalistic while forgetting to add value to your self. Oh, in case you don't know, all these tribal battles most of you engage in have turned this platform to a playground. Most people looking for serious people don't come here anymore. I was talking to an HR consultant days back and she was looking for peeps to fill in some job vacancies with take-home of 500k and above monthly. I suggested she check on nairaland. She simply told me you don't see such calibre of people on nairaland. That she comes here only when she's looking for people for unserious roles like drivers, admin assistants and similar low ass jobs.
Leave nairaland and go and build yourself for the future. Fine , how ? If with first degree and Masters Degree one cannot land such jobs. Please am curious to know help a friend. |

Maya4eva: I teach in one of the known education establishments with branches all over the country. In my branch of the school, students pay as high as over 500k in a session. The population of students is over 900. Guess what? ALL members of the teaching staff earn 60k...even MSc holders. As a matter of fact, the management said that as far as the system is concerned, upgrading your educational qualifications is for yourself and is not recognised by them. We work ROUND the year and only get two-weeks' leave in August (which isn't even definite; it could be taken away at the whim of the "Ogad at the Top" and one week in December...for a teaching job o. Add these to the constant threat of one's job! Do you want to know how the non-teaching staff are treated? They're asked to resign at the end of every term and reapply in the new term just so they aren't paid during the holiday. Naija nawah , it's only in the teaching profession . |

Majesticniyi: I normally don't answer questions on threads like this but something tells me you genuinely want to know so I would reply you.
1. Don't come to Canada if you arent coming with genuine papers and legal documents. It would be hell.
2. If you come in with tourist visa, you can practically do nothing in this country. You can't get a Social Insurance Number (SIN) with that visa so you cant open a bank account, get a SIM card etc only to talk of getting a job.
3. You always mostly can never convert to work permit. It has been known to happen but it's rare and hard. You could do some underG work and get laid cash but believe me, you would be better off living in Naija.
4. If you could get a work permit, excellent! It's always hard to get sha. Canada is a hard country to get into expect you are coming as a permanent resident.
5. If you do get a work permit and you are here, you could a. Go to school and use that to gain points for express entry b. Get your employer to give you what is called LMIA and that raises your point for express entry too.
However, Canada is sweet basically for PRs and Citizens. If you come in as anything else, na your money we go dey take drink tea and plant flowers. Life is sweet here for those who are here legally, no let anybody lie you say things are hard abroad...its a million times better than back home!!!
PS: Don't ever let any agent decieve you. The best way to travel abroad is by doing it yourself. Read, read and read...the information is always online. Reddit, Quora, Canadavisa forum and our own very Nairaland...other countries' infos can be found online too. DIY...AGENTS ARE SCAMS!!!!!! Thank you very much |

buzritchy: Not really familiar with that route sorry.
If you can get to Ejigbo which is close to Ikotun, you can take a bike to a place called Canoe then get a tricycle going to 7&8 alight at Inua Mohammad... ask any one for the school.
Alternatively get a bus going to Mushin, alight at Aye bus stop before Laspotech, get tricycle going to 7&8 alight at Kara street then ask anyone.
I hope this helps. Thank you very much i appreciate. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Most Important Reason Why You Should Become A Christian For Real by Nreebge: 10:29am On Aug 25, 2019 |
EternalBeing: Christianity is more than just going to Church every Sunday, or just praying every morning when you wake up and every night before you close your eyes to sleep. Christianity is being dead to the "lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life", and being alive in the Jesus Christ which allows the Holy Spirit to live through you by using you to impart this World for good according to His Will.
I got born again years ago through the preaching of Pastor W.F. Kumuyi that I heard. Imagine if Kumuyi refused to give up sinful life for his current life of Holiness that brought me and million others to salvation in Christ, I was strongly on a particular path already which guaranteed I would have been an armed robber that would have killed so many by now, and maybe would have been killed too. I wonder how many millions around the World, who were in similar situation as mine, got converted by the eternal truth that God used this man and his likes to reveal. So, the most important reason why you should become a real Christian is not just for the salvation of your soul and the reward of living forever that follows, but for the sake of those destinies that are tied to your salvation.
It should be noted that it is currently extremely difficult in this end time Generation, if not utterly impossible, for a human to fulfill his/her God-given glorious Destiny without the help and intervention of our Creator, which can never come without us being Holy; Hebrews 12:14 "... Holiness, without which no one will see the Lord" . Holiness is the prerequisite for us to be supernaturally empowered to triumph over the whiles of this World. Satan uses trials of life to fight many innately glorious people into submission and worship of himself in order to use the special gifts that God created into them to destroy humanity and pervert the Purpose of God for the World. Becoming a real Christian, with holiness within and without, is the only way to triumph and fulfill your glorious Destiny in accordance with the original Purpose for which God created you. Not matter the trials, don't ever jettison your original for the fake quick fix glory that Satan offers in exchange for your eternal Soul. Grace of God keep us unto eternity in Christ in Jesus Name. Very wonderful and timely for a perishing generation. We need to live a life of sinfreeness so as to see Jesus. But please next time correct the statement that " Christianity is more than going to church on Sabbath days and Sundays. As an Adventist i worship my creator on Sabbath days and not Sundays. Thank you very much as we remain faithful in our walk with Prince Emmanuel. |
