One thing I know for sure is that the embassy is following the queue accordingly, except for few cases.

Secondly, your new passport won’t be a problem, provided you go along with your old passport which has the passport number that was used for your appointment booking.
Without your old passport, you will be asked to cancel and rebook your appointment.
Good luck

omoniyi289:
Hello Everyone, I applied for (long term) Work Visa in Sept. 2019, my likely interview date was said to be in Dec 2020.

First I want to find out if this queue is still being followed?

Secondly, I got a new passport with a different passport number earlier this year since my old passport would expire in Aug 2020, I hope this won't affect my Visa application when I eventually get an appointment date?
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 11:35am On Sep 16, 2020
My spouse is a German living in Germany, I haven’t heard anything from the embassy since my verification was done. My spouse has also not been contacted. I think there is a backlog or reason for delay.
However, I am waiting patiently.

buckkie:
@nuel80 , please I recall you mentioned your verification was done in less than a month after you went for your interview at the embassy . I want to ask if your spouse is already In Germany ? I ask because my spouse did his interview since early August has he has not received any mail since then from the embassy

Yes I have gotten my appointment date, I’m going to the embassy for my interview this week . I booked an appointment last year September 22 and I got an appointment later august 15th , that’s why I said you will get your appointment in November. Well I’m going for marriage in Germany but my question now is , How long would I wait for the visa because my wedding is 23 September in Germany? Please I need a answer
You may need to change your wedding date and leave it opened, your visa application take between 3 to 6 months before you get a decision from them.
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 3:18pm On Aug 25, 2020
Yes you need to go with the verification and visa application fee all in cash. Only 500 and 1000 denominations are accepted. Ensure you sort all your documents carefully and make wo copies of each before going there.
You don’t require a travel insurance at this stage, the embassy will contact you if they need you to provide one in future. Good luck to you.

Richard00000:

Thank you very much Knogbu for this information.

knogbu:
Hi, If you are successful, the embassy will write u an email requesting for your passport and 3 or 6 months health insurance. They will also ask you to put your travel date 11 days from the date they will receive your passport and health insurance. All these docs plus the originals will be returned using the courier envelope which you submitted during visa application.

Hello please did you submit an A1 certificate on your appointment date?
I’m wondering if they will process the application of those who’s A1 certificate had expired or had not taken the exam or they would place the application processing on hold for this reasons.

brendybliss1:

Ooops...I guess some questions we ask here and response we get here are too sensitive and probably against the rule of this platform.
I observed nairaland deleted some questions and responses recently made here. Apologies to the authorities.
Good luck to all applicants.

You can apply, but the issue is your husband’s financial state and his accommodation, those are key points the issuing authority looks into before granting such visas.
So think twice before giving it a try.

Please note that if your passport is reissued for any reason, the number changes, since the embassy always take a copy of your passport, I suggest you start necessary step in making corrections, and also mention it during your interview.
Good luck to you

Acisky:
Thank you very much helpful response, I will contact the immigration as soon as possible and to make the correction

No contact has been made yet. Not to me nor my spouse. I have no idea when contacts will be made.

Hi Nuel,
Has the lawyer contacted you and also has your spouse in Germany been contacted?
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 2:06pm On Jul 28, 2020
It’s advisable to say unknown, however no one knows when the visa application review will be completed, it’s also expected that the applicant don’t know if he or she would want to stay less than 24 months in Germany.

Irunma:
Hi NLs,
What should I fill when asked: "intended date of travel" on my Visa Application form
(having in mind that the Nigerian Airspace has not opened yet to international flights) should i just write any date? or ?

buckkie:
Hello guys , for the family reunion visa people , did the embassy collect all your original documents and keep with them? I know for work visa they collected all mine but that didnt take more than 1 month . 1 understand family reunion process can take up to 3-6months for Nigerians . Does it mean all the originals will be with them during this period? Please help me clarify
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 12:18am On Jul 25, 2020
Swear an affidavit for a missing original copy, then go with the Print-out copy you have. Mind you, they do the verification on WAEC website with the information provided.

Fabulousaify:
Nolia please I'll like to find out somethings from you.
I'm having difficulties getting my original waec certificate. I want to know if the computer printout will do. Or i should just swear to an affidavit instead. Kindly reply please
TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 9:59pm On Jul 24, 2020
Come to think of it...it’s even better you get an appointment date, submit your application before seating for the A1 exams, because if you go for the certificate first and then your appointment comes a year later, the certificate becomes automatically invalid again. Ah being a Nigerian is stressful ooo grin grin

TravelRe: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by nuel80: 3:48pm On Jul 23, 2020
He will guide you on how to should sort your documents, but ensure you have made all necessary photocopies and go with your self addressed envelope from DHL, if your documents are not complete, getting them from those guys there will cost you a lot. And oga Paulinus might give you an extra time that may not favor you. But if all your documents are intact, you will get a smooth sail.
They will collect your application even if your A1 certificate is more than one year, but you will be required to rewrite the exams

knogbu:
Ho Nolia,
Did you get help arranging your docs with Oga Paulinus at the embassy?
what if your language cert is 1 yr old?

Thanks for this information, I always roam when I’m not in Nigeria. So I am on the safe side.

Ahmed4002:
Definitely. You would get a call from the lawyer.

You need to roam your number then or keep the SIM card on with a trusted family member.

Yeah You are right. Do you or anyone have an idea with regards to how the layer will contact me; will he or she call or send an email? Do I need to be at home if he will be visiting? As I will be making an international trip on the 4th of August. As I just don’t want to frustrate my application and verification process for any reason.

Ahmed4002:
The Visa fee depends on the prevailing exchange rate within that period.

The 150K is fixed for the verification process.

The lawyer contact you in order to check your immediate family members.
In laws, school attended, hospital of birth, friends, etc.

Please does anyone know how this lawyer verification thing works? Or how it is done?

Your entire school certificates are required, endeavor to go with them.

nolia66:
I think that is not much of a big deal, just go with the certificate you have, use that one to enter first, when you get to the interviewer then you can then explain and tell them you have a pending exam. I bet all they would ask you to do is to resubmit that one at a later date. You just have to make sure you pass this time around. Goodluck
Okay thanks guys...I had my interview today and it all went well, they have accepted my application without the A1 certificate, though I have presented the statement of result from my last exam and also a document that shows I have registered for the exam before the covid19 changed things.
So far, the interview was cool, I never knew I was on interview until I was told it’s over smiley
Good luck to others waiting for theirs.
I wish myself good luck oooooo

There’s no other documents other from the ones stated on their websites, however, I was issued a single entry tourist visa before and now I applied for multiple entry visa and I was issued with a 1 year multiple entry visa. Just tender the documents listed on their website and wait for positive result.
Good luck

Congratulations. Can you state the type of visa you applied for and the documents submitted and procedure of getting the visa in this post covid era. This would help other intending applicants.
