DHA10:It’s either the visa officer that attended to me have taken this money for himself, I paid NGN150,000 cash for documents verification and additional NGN42,000 For visa fee. The good thing is that I’m already in Germany reunited with my wife. I take that as a sacrifice for the whole process |

After the much awaiting time, I am finally here with a testimony, I got my visa, the journey was not an easy one, I noticed German embassy don’t keep to their own side of the requirements sometimes, I was made to pay for visa fee and of course verification fee which I guess was compulsory in most cases, but they have an A1 language certificate exception if your spouse is a German, but even after submitting the first one that got expired, I was forced to get a new one, some persons were lucky to take the test ones and pass it, in my case, I had my first attempt in South Africa, second attempt in Lagos, then the lockdown hit in and institutions in Nigeria was closed, I was given a deadline to submit a new one, that made me travel to Istanbul, Turkey to take another test, this time, I gave it my all by forsaking my business in Nigeria. Sent them the result but I guess they doubted it, because they asked I send them an entry and exit stamps to Turkey, I did all that, before they asked for my passport and insurance. Submitted that on Monday the 3rd of May, with a note that I would like to pick up my passport since I have a return flight to Istanbul, these people ignored that request and sent my documents to Edo state, I had a supposed flight to catch on Friday the 14th but I missed it because I was looking for my passport, finally got a call in the evening for passport delivery, paid quite a large sum for it to be sent via flight to Lagos for me, but it did not make it to Lagos until the 15th of May. But in all these, I give God thanks for his grace to believe he had the best plans for me. I wish everyone here success in your application. 6 Likes |

zkachi: Yes you can go without the certificate, in some cases, if you satisfy the interview in German, they may not even ask for A1 certificate when your application becomes positive. |

This is strange, the lawyer that visited me was very professional, I was not willing to offer him anything because I don’t want it to look as if I am hiding anything, but the culture in me offered him a bottle of eater, but he politely declined. I hope you are saying the truth with your application? Franklin112: |

Oriaku1: He or she can’t be sure the lawyer is done with verification. The lawyer is only fine with the applicant for now. He will proceed to other places concerning the applicant without he or she knowing. You will get an email to that effect from the embassy when the lawyer is done. Sometimes verification process takes the lawyer days. Because he practically visits all offices where your documents where issued. And yes, sometimes I hey visit your village if they have to. In my case, the lawyer was in my case for more than one week. |

I think the embassy just don’t follow the rule they made. Despite the fact that my spouse is a citizen of the European Union, they insist I would have to provide an A1 language certificate with a very short date given. I just pray Goethe institute resumes and start giving exams on time. I need to work harder in passing the test too. I miss my wife so much I wish myself Goodluck with it this time. |

I just got a mail to forward the original language certificate from Goethe institute. Thought they will skip this part since my spouse is a German citizen? I’m worried because I didn’t make the last exam I sat for. Is there any option to this case ? The deadline given is too short |

These officials at the German embassy believes everyone engages in forging documents. I got a mail today that documents verification has been completed, but was asked to submit a new affidavit of bachelorhood as the first one was forged. And this has to be submitted before 20th of December. Now I have lost my father since October, my mother can’t read nor write, in fact my tradition does not permit her to leave the house until after burial. Who else can sign such affidavit for me? Please advice |

When you have an appointment and try to book for the second time, you will automatically lose your appointment. That instruction was clearly stated on their website. You didn’t have to ignore it. It a sign that you don’t follow laid down procedures. Dsalz: |

Write them, it’s either you have requested for appointment twice which usually leads to cancellation or something have gone wrong. For all I know they treat appointments on first come first serve basis. Mine was also booked June 2019, and I had my first appointment in March and rescheduled for July 20, I had it successfully and verification done as well. Good luck Ahmed4002: 1 Like |

One thing I know for sure is that the embassy is following the queue accordingly, except for few cases. Secondly, your new passport won’t be a problem, provided you go along with your old passport which has the passport number that was used for your appointment booking. Without your old passport, you will be asked to cancel and rebook your appointment. Good luck omoniyi289: |
