wow, its been years since I last logged in here, I believe its almost 7 years now. I have since then finished Nursing School, got a bachelors degree in Nursing and even acquired a masters degree.. Wheeww!!! Its been God all through and I am grateful for everyone on this platform who helped throughout and I am here to pay it back. Currently, the Nigerian government has banned the recruitment of nurses to the UK. However, this ban is expected to be lifted soon, opening up opportunities for Nigerian nurses to pursue careers in the UK. To ensure you are ready when the ban is lifted, it is essential to understand the registration process. The following steps will guide you through the process of registering as a nurse in the UK, from checking your eligibility and completing the online application to passing the necessary exams and obtaining your visa. Prepare now to make your transition as smooth as possible. Today I will give you a brief run through on how to migrate to UK as a Nigerian-trained Nurse. 1. To work as a nurse in the UK, you must have a nursing degree equivalent to the UK standards. This usually means having a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or associate degree(from nursing school). 2. You must meet the English language requirements. Any of the following will suffice: International English Language Testing System (IELTS): You need an overall score of at least 7.0, with at least 7.0 in each of the four language skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking). Occupational English Test (OET): You need a grade B in each of the four language skills. 3. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and pay the necessary fees. Check out a breakdown of the necessary fees here https://potsandpassports.com/how-to-be-a-uk-nurse-the-ultimate-guide-for-overseas-nurses-in-2024/ . 4. Document Verification: Document verification is a critical step in the NMC registration process for international nurses. This stage ensures that all submitted credentials, such as nursing qualifications, professional registration, and identification documents, are authentic and meet UK standards. You must arrange for your educational institutions and licensing bodies to send verified copies directly to the NMC. 4. Test of Competence (ToC): There are 2 tests you must pass before you can continue with your application with the NMC. This includes: -Computer-Based Test (CBT) -Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) 5. Final Registration: Once you have passed the ToC and your documents are verified, you will be added to the NMC register, allowing you to practice as a nurse in the UK. Required Document -Proof of Identity -Health Evidence -Character Evidence -English Language Requirement Feel free to ask any question and I will reply you at my earliest convenience. Goodluck!!!

Imagine the table turns around. If your wife treats her child from a previous relationship better than your how would you feel. If she favors that child over yours, what’s the nearest possible assumption? Men just love bringing up unnecessary issues. This is why I can never have anything to do with a single father. I just can’t deal |
OP it’s very easy to highlight the wrong others do but never admit our own failings. You want us to judge your wife with just the little narrative you put up here? I am a lady and I know it’s hard for women to not reciprocate love. Are you a good husband to her? Does she have anything to look forward to whenever you are home? Do you give her quality time and attention? Do you act like a loving husband? How come all of a sudden she’s depriving herself of sleep just to be with her brother? Don’t you think it’s cos of something he is doing? She now cooks in the morning for him, don’t you think it’s coz she believe he is worth the stress? And the way you dismissed her off by not carrying the good food you have no maturity in marriage. What if u collected the food and maybe later sit her down to express your displeasure? Abeg let me not waste my advice tor |

ItzBIM: ![]() I don't always do things for the name You check the hidden potentials wherever u are going . Not cos it's a popular place Ireland offers just as much or even more than Canada My opinion anyway ![]() |
Nedlog:oooohhh thanks ![]() Wish you all the best . |
I will list top reasons why I chose Ireland over so many other countries 1-Ireland has one of the best system of education in the world ,students in those countries even testifies this as I know a lot of international students . 2-cost of living is relatively affordable ,imagine paying your tuition and then get accommodation plus medical insurance at no extra . Moreover you are given accommodation that is just a walking distance to the school and so this cuts cost on transportation 3-Ireland is generally safe and friendly 4-you finish your program within a relatively short period 5-Availability of 2 years post study visa i.e when u are done with studies. 6-you don't stress over getting a job 7-Ireland is destination for tourist ,so what's better than studying in a country where you can enjoy your holidays as well ? 8-My school offers swimming classes plus lots of sports clubs ,they have a gym as well .so what better way to keep my weight in check ![]() 9-You can get a residence permit within a short period unlike some countries 10-uuummm I just love the idea of studying in Ireland . |
Fortifiedcity Kk4 Check out the above update ,it will help you in budgeting |
For the sake of all interested I will give a breakdown of the cost in the course of getting my visa plus school related expenses as well 1-international passport..........#28,000 2-visa fee..............................#50400 3)Tuition fee..........................€9000 *i exchanged my naira in the bank at #446 for €1 *But I later paid in dollars tho *it is also noteworthy that the £9000 is inclusive of accommodation and medical insurance 4-flight ................. subject to time of travel and whether u fly business or economy There are lots of airways,so always check the one u can afford |
Kk4:Cost depends on the city where your school is located Schools in Dublin are more expensive ,plus cost of living is higher in Dublin too . Private schools are more expensive than public schools . For my school I paid £9000,which is inclusive of accommodation for the whole year . Cos of your question,I will make a detailed post on this soon Keep following |
ghanaman5050:HND to masters How is that even possible? From the little I know,u need to do a Top-up degree program for one year and thereafter apply for a masters program . When you contact the school u are interested in ,they will help you with more information. Don't reply on mere assumptions or hearsay, contact the school by email or call ,they must definitely reply you . |
Nedlog:its for the visa application alone . That's the only money you pay at the submission center . They have no business with your flight |
@fortifiedcity hope I answered you well I already attached a mail from the school with some highlighted areas |
FortifiedCity:ok it's fine I am going for a one year course although I have intentions of still furthering in same country |
azelab:i am sponsoring myself Yes students are allowed to work . |
FortifiedCity:seems more like you are interrogating me than making enquiries for yourself. Hmmmmm In the mean time ,I will wait till you have a personal question |
FortifiedCity:Flight depends on the airline And price is subject to the period you will be traveling . It's generally cheaper if u are traveling in winter and a bit high in summer . I paid about #50,400 at the submission center in Abuja |
FortifiedCity:If u don't mind ,what's your definition of "everything ". ? ![]() |
I applied to the Irish embassy with all the documents I could find . My visa processing took took 6 weeks on the dot Though the courier they used (UPS) wasted a lot of time When I finally saw the approval on my passport,I forgot my grievances towards the courier. Attached are the documents used |
FortifiedCity:not yet ,will soon be on the move |
femcentz:institute of technology ,Tralee . |
I got a student visa Steps I took include ; I got a response from them within 9 days i.e I was offered admission The documents needed can be found on the school website You can email them and they will reply stating what documents needed for the application. |

I am not a guru on visa and won't claim to be one I am just here to help put someone through with any little help I can offer based on my own experience. Feel free to ask your questions no matter how silly it might sound . |
