Can everyone take a seat please? It’s going to be quite a read.

It’s my turn. grin

PPR has come to the glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

It has been a lonnnnng but rewarding experience here on this thread and in this EE journey. I have learnt a lot through months of research and waiting. If you had told me anything about relocating from Nigeria before the second week of August 2017, I would have rolled my eyes at you in apparent indifference. I was never one for living abroad. I love visiting on vacations, buying plenty stuff and coming back home. However, one day at the end of the 2nd week of August 2017, I was in the car with my husband, on our way to work and I remember vividly how I stumbled on Testden while browsing through the internet that morning. I decided to read a little and I just became fascinated with the practice texts and solving the questions. A colleague of mine who moved to Australia last year had been harping on about migrating, but I had no such plans. Hubby and I are doing quite well here, and I am also so close to my parents that the thought of staying so far away from them kept me from taking the leap.

Initially, practicing the IELTS questions was just for fun but I had a light bulb moment one day while still recovering from a surgery that almost cost me my life in a Nigerian hospital. A supposedly ‘big’ hospital. Why not take the test and work towards getting outta here? I asked myself. Hubby didn't agree at first. He is a believer now.

So voila! My first connection to anything Canadian was the IELTS test discovery via Testden. During my recuperation period, I decided that I needed a better life not just for myself but also for my kids. I considered Australia, but there is a disconnect between my first degree and work experience so I didn’t stand a chance. Canada was next on my list. I went on to research on the internet; CIC site and Nairaland popped up first among others. I have always engaged Nairaland as my go-to place for 1st hand practical experience on just about anything. It really needs to be rated among the top internet search engines in the world. We are great like that!

So, lemme not bore you with my long story joor.

Here is my timeline:

Decision to immigrate: 2nd week of August 2017.

WES evaluation received: 15th November 2017

IELTS: L8.5 R9 S7.5 W7.5

Hubby: Did very well. Maxed out on scores.

EE profile created: 1st December 2017

ITA: 6th December 2017

AOR: 1st February 2018

NA1: 2nd February 2018

Medicals passed/IP1: 12th February 2018

NA2: 16th February 2018

IP2: 27th February 2018 (the mass movement)

1st GCMS notes (ordered via gcmsbuddy.com): April, 2018 Received in less than 2 weeks

2nd GCMS notes (ordered via gcmsbuddy.com): June, 2018 Received one month later

ADR: 2 days ago. Day 179. Height & Color info + Copies of passport biodata pages (as if I didn’t provide it before) angry

PPR Mail: 1st August 2018. Received around past noon today. I was actually speaking in faith this morning when I was teasing y'all about having correct news grin. I just had the feeling. grin

VO: Almighty London

AOR to PPR: A whooping 181 days! cry

Other details:

POF: I used 3 T-bills certificates, account statement and other sources of funds. Reference letter from bank and letter from hubby giving consent to use his own portion of the funds. Used affidavit and LOE to explain huge inflows from hubby cos they were quite significant (upfront allowance from his employer). I had almost 3 times the amount needed for a family of three, so I had to exclude other sources of funds so that I don’t complicate things with a bulky upload and overwhelm the VO.

Whew! It was a battle getting that file to compress. After a 6-hour battle on submission day, I was finally able to compress it to 3.7mb. Made a mistake on the LOE in calculating total amount, was about to upload the whole file in the POF placeholder when I got a call from hubby that he had observed a mistake from his review. Had to abort mission ( grin), correct it, rescan before remerging and uploading.

Employment: Got letter from my previous employer (didn’t use it in the end cos I couldn’t decide on the right NOC for it), added role in personal history. Used the one from my current employer, LOE explaining NOC change, work mails, Tax card, Staff ID card, my call card and that of my line manager. No payslips or SOA. Although I got maximum score for my previous role with current employer, I also declared my one and half year current role, same employer under my work history cos both roles showed on the same reference letter anyway, and so I had to upload the same doc again for this current role (Thanks happytbaby for calling my mind to this one. I might have missed it). Hmm, was so scared throughout the process cos I had used a different job title and NOC before ITA, but apparently, it wasn’t a biggie (thanks to @cochtrane, @einsteino, @happytbaby & @Blackbuddy for allaying my fears on this).

Education: IELTS TRF, ECA report, Degree certificates. ECA process was pretty straightforward, Naija Uni represented well. UK school, of course didn’t disappoint.

Hubby’s Education: No ECA done for either degree.

Medicals: Done at Q-Life a day before I submitted (I no dey plan travel soon, so had to shift it as far away as possible). Very seamless process.

Photos: Studio 24. The hard copies we did have expired in the wake of this delay. We have to retake them.

Legal document for name change: Submitted one & the same person affidavit for hubby.

LOE: Submitted Schedule A, old UK Visa refusal notes for hubby and 1, Travel History form, affidavit for one & the same person for hubby and his birth certificate (for different names on his docs).

CSE: I noticed that I had mistakenly swapped documents in the wrong placeholders. Raised CSE and notified them of the error.

GCMS Notes: 1st & 2nd were fine. No issues.

So, as I drop my pen, abi fingers (cheesy), let me acknowledge and thank everyone for the great job we are all doing here. You guys are amaaaaazing! Agents and consultants are seriously learning compared to us.

As I say thank you to each and every one, lemme send a special shout out to people who were and have been consistent in making this thread a success: @40manlappy (you no answer some of my PMs in the early days of my membership here sha, I still dey beef you-smiley), @Kontagious, @happytbaby (God bless you plenty), @Glitteringstar, our able landlady and data analyst, @cochtrane, @einsteino, @Blackbuddy, @mcstan18 (you snuck up on us and became a formidable “elder” smiley), @Hephgirl (I miss you in our midst.), @Elfmannisback (thank you for being our police here), @ysteph, @Ethelia, @luffyhaki, @Tojued, @ArabianRose @TEECANN, @Threemg, @vcole @smslive2 @agates @ jholarharde and many many others I can’t name here. Una too plenty ooooo. Thank you for all the love and support. You guys made the wait easy to bear.

I kept trusting God and believing that my turn will come one day. Months back, I wrote my goods-to-follow list, made a list of all that we were going to sell off. I even decided on the school my son will go to if we were ever able to get a house within the boundary of the school board. I have researched and researched, now it feels like I already live in Canada (except for the cold. grin). I appreciate the Planning for Canada session I was privileged to attend. It’s a pity that the opportunity may end soon. It really helped with my planning.

I appreciate you all for all the times you wished that this day would come sooner. Every time I saw a post praying for my PPR, I would pray and ask God to answer the prayer. May God Almighty, the One who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we can ever think, ask or even imagine make our ways prosperous and grant us all fulfilled lives in Canada.

We shall meet in Canada one day. One day soon.

Excuse my dramatic post. I wasn’t going to type all these, but you guys have waited for this day, so I didn’t want to fall hand. It has been one hell of a wait. I was expecting serious excitement the day this PPR would come, but I am not as excited as I thought I would be. It’s even surprising to me. I think I am even a little afraid, but God has got me. We will all flourish in Canada. It's a must!

PS: To all our newbies, please take time out to read and understand this process. When you take offense at people who ask you to read more, it gives the impression that people that did exactly that are foolish. Imagine that no one took out time to study the process, who would you have confidence to ask for guidance? Please read, read and read. It can be overwhelming, I know, but the benefits surmount every stress you might encounter in figuring where and how to start. To access even the most basic of services in our Maple Leaf country, you would need to read and understand your rights and entitlements as a PR, T&Cs of certain services and all. Why not start now and imbibe that behavior?

…Off to continue dancing! See you guys lerra.

Keeping up with the thread has been difficult as time difference no gree me do my bit. Just had a nodge to check today(1st August 2018) at 1st I saw @balogunsam’s post and the next thing that came to mind was @newmum0615 and sincerely i am super excited for you. Congratulations!congratulations!congratulations!

Long post alert!!!

My PPR Story........

ITA: 22/09/17
CRS score was 433, ITA CRS Cut off-433
Knew from that point that God was favourably disposed towards us!

Med Exam: Children's practice, Ikoyi
The tension high small ooo, as plenty thoughts dey cross my mind that day( no be wetin u dey think sha)

AOR: October 10
Gathered all my documents a week after ITA.
Couldn't get ref letter in CIC format from employer, especially d JD part( my supervisor wrote and signed one for me though). Used only TB certificates as POF( said a prayer before pressing d submit key after filling and uploading all docs)

Med passed: Oct 22.....was as if I won lottery(lol)

Requested GCMS on January 23 and received feb 22....( could deduce file was transfered to LVO on 22nd Nov). A11.2 eligibility was passed already and both notes from program assistant and case processing agents were all positive( heaved a great sigh of relief cos i was worried about d NOC i chose but all panned out great). Knew at that point that it was just a matter of time( kept praying and fasting sha o for the VO to just accept d agent's recommendations without query)

Ip2: Feb 27... d mass movt day
started checking my account and refreshing my mail every single day from that day( u can imagine), hoping for PPR.

April 10...exactly 6 months post AIR, I sent a status update to LVO and got the reply that my file was awaiting review( was heart broken...haba, so my file just dey hibernate for close to 5months at LVO without activity). I ordered another set of notes same day and received on 6th May.........same old story, no update since file moved to LVO( At that point, I just wished I could appear at LVO and rant d whole place down, especially when latter AOR dates were getting PPR).

ALAS!!!!!The Eagle Landed at 10.48am this morning(U can imagine d drama that ensued in my office when I read d mail)

No ADR throughout d process.

So much more to say but make I end am here for now!

Indeed, He makes all things beautiful in his own time!

Thank u all for d contributions and information received during this wait time.

I pray your testimonies too will be complete IJN.

congratulations

Oh Nigerian youths. Please think, think again before you leave for that canada whether it's really worth it or not. The opportunity you are looking for is right here, but which millions of Nigerians are too blind to see. Abuse me if you like but you won't say I didn't tell you. If I were Nigerian youths, especially the professionals, I would research into what makes a chinese guy or an indian man come to our own country with a shirt and a pair of trousers but by the time he's going back, he's a rich man. He still uses your brain to make his millions, amazing lol. Please ejowo, bikonu, du alah, think twice

Please why did you choose this thread to write this CRAP. I want to believe na miss road carry you enter here. Am definitely sure you as an individual haven’t ventured into the supposed opportunities you claim are available. I would together with the wonderful people here go to Canada restart what I couldn’t finish here( Nigeria) and succeed, then s you will know it’s the Nigerian system not the youths that are the problem. PLEASE IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY REASONABLE THING TO WRITE, DESIST FROM COMMENTING HERE. Ose gan!

Good evening E-family. Please I need help from Pharmacists who have completed their ECA from PEBC.
A friend forgot to send her ECA Request Form to PBEC while sending other documents for Evaluation. She is to submit her ECA request form now with a $100CAD processing fee in the form of a Canadian Certified cheque, money order or Bank draft made out to PEBC.

Does anyone have an idea how can she make this payment since she is not in Canada and Card payment is not acceptable for this particular situation?

Please if you have been in a similar situation, kindly let me know you resolved it. Thank you

Does your friend have a friend in canada? If yes then have her contact the pal to raise the Canadian cheque on her behalf and send it to PEBC, while she sends the notarised ECA request form from Nigeria.
Please note: most Nigerian banks can’t raise Canadian dollar and so she shouldn’t fall into the trap of raising American dollar because PEBC would not accept it.

This journey started Feb 1, 2017 with WES registration. God on our side, Spouse and I wrote IELTS in May and got the required score in the first sitting. Joined the pool in June and got the ITA in September. The rest you already know.

The information we have on this platform is immeasurable and on top of that, it is free. Let's keep supporting each other and when we scold people for not reading up from page 0, let's do it moderately.

On this journey, put your trust in God, stay focused, be resilient and very very very patient....

It will end in praise for us all.

As you be first bank lover ehn... the customer service folks should have advised you to get a VISA GOLD CARD. Here is what you would do, visit the branch tomorrow and request for a VISA GOLD account, source the dollar, pay into your account , and comfortably pay IRCC the required funds without getting worried. VISA GOLD CARD is a sure bet with international payments.

Did anybody come across an agent based in Abeokuta inviting people to come and apply for EE, promising them that he has many slots in Manitoba PNP? They even went as far as promising people that they will pay the flight, accommodation, visa fees and other associated fees because they are a Canadian Visa Agent. The beneficiary will only pay back when he/she gets to Manitoba. Could this be real house? I intentionally held back their name and a snapshot of their flyer to avoid being banned here in the name of advertisement.

THIS AGENTS ARE THIEVES, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Congrats to all ITA and PPR reciepients,

Pharmacist in the house!! Please how do I get to apply for licensing statement. I know its through PCN but who do I contact. Thanks.

Dear colleague,
Make the payment on Remita.net for letter of Good Standing(N30,000 only).
Print out the receipt , then attach a letter addressed to the Registrar of PCN applying for letter of good standing to be written on your behalf.
Don’t forget to state the recipient’s address(PEBC)in the body of the letter.
Head to the PCN office nearest to you to drop off your application.
If you want a fast processing time, find a friend residing in Abuja to apply on your behalf.
After doing this, you have got two options;
1. Wait for PCN to send the letter via NIPOST to PEBC or
2. Find someone in PCN that could help send the letter on your behalf using DHL(this option comes at a cost)
Finally, you can pm me if you want the phone number of a contact person in PCN Abuja to help with the sending of your letter.

However, it is the Easter season and May the good Lord forgive you in advance for any “tasi” or “ela” or “isho” that you may be considering to bestow on me for my innocent questions cool

Aaaaanyway, just wanted to get some clarification re a couple of things

1. GCMS Notes: I’ve seen the getgcms site and I assume the option to select is the eGCMS option that costs 15USD? Also when is it okay to request the notes considering it takes a fair bit to come through.
AOR was 22nd Feb and MEP was March 1st. Is it too early?

2. Application Stages: I genuinely am not sure how to read this properly. I saw this quote below from my trawling through the nairaland universe -( By the way there’s a loooooot of things on this Nairaland thatbyour eye will see, that maybe you wish you could unsee grin )

“Background Check:
This changed from “Not Applicable (NA)” to “Next Step to conduct BG Check (NBG)” aka IP1- 03-May
“Next Step to conduct BG Check” to “Not Applicable (NA)” aka NA2– 06-May
“Not Applicable” to "We are processing your background check" aka IP2- 27-Sep

Bro your application is doing pretty well. Don’t put yourself under undue pressure. IP2 in just 35 days is a fantastic movement. I would advice you relax and intensify your prayers PPR is around the corner. If you want to know your visa office( call. ‭+1 (613) 944-4000‬) but it calls for a lot of patience, waiting time may be for as much as 40mins.
Good Luck

Dear Poster,
This situation is very straight forward and uncomplicated. Let wife receive the money from parents and the couples can explore these two options;
1. Received funds remain in the account of wife, and she gets a gift deed done stating where the fund came from and finally she writes a letter of explaination highlighting availability of funds to her hubby for the purpose of immigration
2. Couple walks into a Stanbic IBTC bank and open a joint mutual fund account to invest the received fund, when the time is ripe (POST-ITA) they can request for an embassy letter from Stanbic ibtc asset management limited.(this option has been explored by many of my colleagues including my humble self)

Good Day House,
Am quite new to this thread but hoping to get PPR soon. Done some research about provinces in canada and for some reasons we have picked NOVA SCOTIA as a place to settle in. I need first hand information about this province. Anyone currently residing there please kindly help a brother out.

Gensta:
Hello Pharm. Please have you gone passed the PEBC stage. I need some answers from any pharmacists that have gone passed this stage. First, which is better to use to certify documents from your own experience : the notary public, commissioner of oaths or a lawyer? Secondly, how long did it take after you sent in all your documents to get the eca report.

@gensta sorry I didn’t reply your pm on time was quite busy.
For certification of my documents, I used a notary public but a lawyer can be used provide he/she has a seal to authenticate the documents.
As for the ECA, I got it in 9weeks but response time is dependent on the volume of work they have to do per time. To avoid delays ensure you send all required documents.
All the best
