The Court did not sit today.. The one presiding judge, the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court on some official assignment. Matter adjourned to Wednesday 6th November 2019.

The suit brought by an Abuja based legal practitioner, Pelumi Olajengbesi against NNPC and the recruitment exercise cannot go on today due to the absence of the Judge who did not sit.

New date to be agreed when NNPC lawyer gets to Court.

Not a medical expert so to say... But if the promethazine and chlorpromazine are prescribed drugs and it is used treat a medical condition such as schizophrenia, cold, bronchitis and all, they may be permissible. Although they are never prescribed for sports persons because they are stimulants and graded in the first categories of banned substance for sports person.

I don't think NNPC has problem with performance enhancing drugs if there is proper explanation for their usage... Na abuse dem fit frown at..

There is always disparity between sources especially in a high profile, money spinning recruitment such as this.

Me myself have been a victim of several info based on reliance on sources that's the reason why I personally prefer using the word "sauce" so that if it turns out to be unreliable, the judges and juries in the house as well as the AOLMAW can help me turn it .

Today while I was seeking for info, I called about 3 people who I believe have proper info at hand and one of them, acting like the big man that he want to be said I should stop disturbing him over a job that he won't get a dime for when I get and told me that the recruitment has been postponed till next year. I felt like crying as I've already started the go-slow approach in my present job and expect that APL will drop this month based on his earlier info which was corroborated by Jarus and some other peepz here .

The other two guys said the recruitment has not been cancelled or postponed and the news making waves earlier does not necessarily have anything to do with the process as the Corporation has a means of absolving casual and contract staff into the system while just stating that the APL will drop soon. (Walahi none of them wan give the exact date although one of them was one of the PA to one former GMD.

So don't be surprised if I select the source/sauce that gave the more pleasant and preferable info. Same goes for other info hunters like me who have more than one source. Na to just accept the one that our faith fit work with and pray that APL locate us whenever NNPC wan share am.

This might be a long read

The news I got from here made me get through to some sauce within the system who informed me clearly that the issues with the contact staff wanting to be confirmed as a regular staff has been an issue that the Corporation has been face with for several years and the Contract Staff Union seeing that Mele Kyari (the new GMD) is a gentleman and a diplomatic being unlike Dr Maikanti Baru who always threaten them that if they don't maintain their lane they will all be laid off and new set of workers will be recruited in their place, tried everything within their means to arm-twist Kyari to accede to their request of having many of them transfered/confirmed as regular staff during this mass recruitment.

The directive the contract staffs were given by NNPC during the days of Baru was that they should all apply during the recruitment and if they are successful, they will be employed as regular staffs, it is based on that representation that they are demanding for substantial slots from this recruitment.


My sauce informed me that Kyari is trying to pacify all parties in this recruitment and has promised that successful candidates amongst the contract staffs will be absorbed into the system but the Union want more than that since a low quantity of them made it to the oral interview stage. That seems to be the loggerheads at the moment.


On further probing, the sauce informed me that the contract staff issues should not stop the process as it is already in the finishing stage and APL should drop as soon as possible. He didn't give me a timeline though. He only maintained that the issues of contract staff happened during their time as applicant and NNPC absorbed the few amongst them that it can absorb even with their agitations.


So please take a chill pill. Don't let the contract staff news give you problem.

You may right o, i think it either two things.........An error from their part, maybe everything is clumps up together that they don't know who they have paid from those yet to be be paid and at the end dont be surprised if some people dont get paid at all while others receive twice, this is Naija, expect anything ......OR ........ It was an error (based on the reliable sauce) they were trying to make a clear out payment yesterday and were trying to pay the remaining 1st, 3rd, 8th and 10th but paid 1st, 2nd, 8th and 10th instead... The payment was effected yesterday via NEFT and made to reflect this morning... They were able to call back a few, the ones they couldn't call back got credited this morning.. So don't think it is a free cherry that fell from the tree.

My token is, don't think there is free lunch anywhere in the world, try to contact NNPC if you are paid twice, it will show that you are accountable and have integrity. Who knows they may consider you for appointment based on those qualities...

A quick one for this morning.

A genuine sauce from the towers just informed me that those second alertees were paid in errors as there was a clearing house mistake from the Finance Dept guys that made the reimbursement. However, he is silent on the process for collecting the money back.

So I'll advice that ALL SECOND ALERTEES send a mail to NNPC stating the double credit and asking for direction on how to refund it. Who knows if that is how your APL will locate you [b][/b]

US did have jurisdiction to hear such matter. that is the main reason why the Alien Tort Act of the US was enacted.. however, the ability to hear the matter depends on some conditions such as
1. whether the defendant can be compelled to attend the matter and this can only be possible if any of the respondents/defendants set his foot on American soil or territory.

2. whether there is gross tort, that is whether the action of the respondents is so deplorable that the court has no option but to wade in.

3. whether the action cannot be successfully heard and determined in the country where the tort occurs... and so on,
however, recently, the Supreme Court of California as well as the Court of Appeal the fifth Circuit in New York has decided that the Act is a nuisance as it goes beyond being a watchman to being a hunter... thus the court rarely give effects to the Alien Tort Act recently. I'm 99.99% sure that the matter will be dismissed during pre trial hearing as non of the defendants/respondents lives or resides in the US presently... its a bogus suit

This news is really strange. I will await the full version.

Stay of execution must first be brought to the lower court that delivered the judgment... so they've got no choice in that regard. the only option is to bring the application to the Court of Appeal.... some little procedural aspect that may sound unreal for non-lawyers

I think the Court took a bold step... But with the cumbersome nature of pre-election matters and lack of constitutional backing for speedy hearing, this case may still be in the Court of Appeal by 2019.... So my advice to the successful party, reach out to the GOMINA and settle things out amicably... Who case don epp??
