Shaz: But you get this, it's the ungroomed children that do this. . you'd never see a child from a good home doin this - I mean posing with guns. Take that from me. Carrying tools is an identity of the yard dogs. So before you jump, look. Please tell them, If i am not mistaken the cash in that picture should be more than #100,000 (nairas) Exposing a juvenile to so much money & a gun at a very tender age will tell you the type of man he would become when he turns an adult. |

tpia: In any case, whoever posted these pictures on the internet, is a very wicked person Thanks for the compliment, those pictures has been on the internet for so long if u really care to know. How does my posting it here makes me wicked?? tpia: Rich kids in Nigeria (or anywhere) live rich, regardless if their parents made the money through their own hard work or by looting public funds. Yaradua was rich before becoming president, abeg.Whoever took these pictures (especially the one with the rifle) should be prosecuted. Thats where good parenting comes in.(Posing with an AK47 Riffle, i guess you dont really know capabilities of that GUN) Thats gross indiscipline Do you really care to know how much he was worth before he became the president. |

To answer your question. If your Mom has Indefinite stay thats called Carta di soggiorno here. She can sponsor her daughter down here if she has a stable job with income and a house ( That would be inspected) or if she is married to an Italian,
Its possible but not with a visiting Visa. She will know better. , She has all you have listed Carta di soggiorno Stable job and income A houseBut whats the sponsoring if not visiting (visiting visa)?? |

@Nawa1980 Please be very candid with me on this question since you are in Italy.
Is it possible for someone above 18years to join the mother with a visiting visa and of which her mum already has a residence permit (Indefinite Leave to Remain). Moreover she intends to change her status on getting there since her mum already has a permit?? Will she be eligible?? I learnt its possible but I don't know how true. |
Travel › Re: Heading Back To Nigeria From Uk by NVME1: 10:04am On May 26, 2008 |
fire4fire: Don't be deceived by being abroad, lots of IT guys in Nigeria earns more than that a month, atleast I'm an example though I work in the banking sector. The only reason I can work abroad is for more experience. Why did u have to start this thread at all. You are really confused (sorry to say) dnative: Quite Right - Getting HSMP is never a big deal in the first place. The issue is with folks on HSMP expecting to get a manna of dream jobs within a short time of their arrival in the UK. Remember having HSMP and EC approved is one thing. Competing in the UK job market is another thing. While HSMP might literally mean you are highly skilled in your chosen profession in your home country, the reality on ground on arrival in the UK most times seems otherwise. At least with IT field that I am much familiar with, I've seen a couple of folks coming in on HSMP but with inadequate skills to 'hit the ground running' in IT jobs in the UK. Unfortunately Naija IT is still at its infancy infrastructure-wise compared to what is obtained in the UK. While you have to be in a bank, oil company, mtn/glo/celtel and some few others (which I could mostly count on my fingers - well maybe and possibly toes) to really amass some functional experience within a fairly sized enterprise infrastructure in Nigeria, the situation in the UK is a massive difference with a wide variety of opportunities to work in enterprise environments that one could only dream about in naija.
Having said this - my advice to folks coming on HSMP from naija to seek IT jobs in the UK - you really have to be on 'top of your game' in your area of specialisation in IT, and I mean really be on top of your game. It takes the best to compete with the best. Those otigba-IT and NIIT amassed skills won't get you far here unless you're willing to start from zero and work your way up. However for the people with the right skills and competence, with a little bit of patience, some 6--9 months UK experience on a not-so-ideal job role, you'll be ready to shift to the high end level of the game. Rates of 200-500 / day are not uncommon for an IT contractor with the right mix of skills and experience in the UK - I'll leave you to do the maths. Please tell him because i think he is ignorant |

Why did you expect the police to do anything anyway? Is racial abuse against the law in Finland?
I think you must have had a lot of time on your hands to call the police and then wait for them to get the drunk to apologize.
You should have simply told him to f*uck off and gone on your way.
If you were abused on the street in Nigeria, what would you have done? Called the police or simply given as good as you got? TRUE TALK!!! abeg tell am again @poster U must b really joblesss to have that time to waste on a junkie |

@Londoner Its true alot of nigerians have lackadaisical attitude towards work, I am not abettin that either but the fact that pple dnt get their pay/salaries as @ the stipulated time will make anybody to be lazy @ work and of which the pay package is even tooo small The Vast mojority in nigeria work under the government becos there is no other alternative. (E.g POLICE) How can some1 be paid 10,000 nairas/month when he has family and children to take care of. He has to feed, pay rent, transport to work, pay children's school fees and other miscellaneous expenses. This we all know will definately create room for corruption/bribery, thats the reason why everybody in 9ja wants to work in a bank |

kenflipper: I Dont understand where you guy are coming with attitude, while i would agree that attitude is a slender part of the problem, our system has failed 100%. And that make our attitude a write off. The system in which you find your self determines your attitude input most especially in Nigeria. BETTER PERSON NA TRUE TALK B THAT NOR BE LONDONER that does not have a clue of what is happenin in Nigeria, @londoner ABEG MAKE You CON START ONE INDUSTRY FOR 9JA WHEN You FINISH FROM UK. Experience they say is the best teacher, na u go run by the time u spend half of your capital for power (NEPA/PHCN) alone. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian, Is It Must We Leave Our Country? by NVME1: 6:04pm On Mar 05, 2008 |
londoner: I understand wanting to leave Nigeria. However, what baffles me is that foreigners have no problem making a success of themselves while in Nigeria, yet Nigerians claim they can do nothing there.
It just makes me question whether in fact the country is all of the problem. Did those who work so hard once abroad in their various endevours (be it studying, cleaning, taxi, professionals, two and three jobs), put the same amount of effort, hardwork into it when they were back home?
I am in no way discounting the limitations of the Nigerian environment, but Nigerians tend to refrain from taking any responsibility for their success away from the government. E b like say u just dey finish to dey chop chicken, u dey another man country dey make mouth make u come Nigeria. Government my ass Nor be ur clear eye u go take run commot FAST FAST!!! sit don there make u dey type rubbish till witlow catch ur hand |

Alot of people really go through hard times when they initially arrive from Nigeria, A friend of mine actually told me that his friend did not even bother to come and pick him from the airport but to God be the GLORY he met a black friend that helped him & today he is doing real fine. (just finfished his PhD)
Some will tell you to find your way to their house, while some give numbers that they cannot be reached on or simply switch off their phone the moment you touch the airport etc.
I guess there are other fellow nairalanders who even had worst experiences with relatives or friends when they first arrived from Nigeria.
Irrespective of where you are currently residing could you share your own experience |
