PoliticsI Never Had Sex With Fani-kayode For Six Years, Says ‘ex-wife’ by NwaNimo1(op): 7:50pm On Dec 07, 2021
The Customary Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja Tuesday adjourned till Wednesday to hear an application by a former beauty queen Precious Chikwendu seeking access to the four children she bore for a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

Chikwendu filed the application through her counsel, Mr Abiodun Olusanya, informing the court that she had information that one of the kids – who were all said to be in Fani-Kayode’s custody – was injured in the head.

Olusanya told the court that the ex-minister had been served via substituted means, as ordered by the court.

In the suit marked FCT/CCK8/01/043/2021, Chikwendu told the court that Fani-Kayode never consummated his six-year relationship with her.

Chikwendu said she was forced to remain celibate during the cohabitation and alleged that the four children she birthed in her affair with Fani-Kayode were conceived via artificial insemination. shocked

She prayed the court to declare that she was never married to Fani-Kayode because, contrary to his claims, he neither paid her bride price nor performed customary or statutory marriage rites with her.

She averred that in the course of their cohabitation, she found out that despite Fani-Kayode’s denial, his marriage to his third wife, Regina, subsisted.

She accused him of assaulting her several times, ordering his bodyguards to strip, lock her up in her room.

Chikwendu (the petitioner) made the averrments in her November 29, 2021 “Application for issuance of civil summons/plaint” against Fani-Kayode (the respondent) in suit FCT/CCK8/01/043/2021 filed by her counsel Mr Abiodun E. Olusanya.

She is seeking the following reliefs:

“An order declaring that there was no customary marriage between the Petitioner and the respondent (despite their six-year cohabitation) under the Nanka, Orumba North, Anambra State of Igbo native law and customs.

“Alternatively, assuming by the evidence during trial the court finds that there was a customary marriage between parties:

“An order dissolving the customary marriage between the petitioner and the respondent forthwith.

“An order granting the Petitioner access to and custody of the four children of the cohabitation between parties especially during their academic calendar

“An order ordering the respondent to be continuously responsible for the academic, medical, clothing and welfare of the four children of the cohabitation.

“An order ordering the respondent to release and return the Petitioner’s property.”

The property includes the petitioner’s certificates and documents, trophies from the United Nations pageantry, Red Range Rover car, registered under her foundation name and the foundation’s certificates and the petitioner’s picture.

Others are the petitioner’s mother’s burial videos and souvenirs, mother’s certificates and documents, the petitioner’s clothes and personal belongings including gadgets, sewing machines left at the children’s play area and Petitioner’s fridge and kitchen gadgets for her food company, Mommy Pee Food.

Chikwendu said her relationship with Fani-Kayode, her former “estranged cohabiter,” was full of “woes, lies, deceits, quarrels, assaults, battery and domestic violence, lack of trust and absence of love, public disgrace and shame, and absence of sex due to the inability to sexually perform and intolerable behaviour of the respondent.”

She contended that there was never a marriage between the parties on the ground, among others, that the respondent “has continuously behaved in such a way that the Petitioner cannot reasonably be expected to continue to live with the respondent any further or formally enter into any form of traditional marriage whit him.”

HealthOsagie Ehanire: 50% Cent Of COVID-19 Positive Cases In Nigeria Are From UK by NwaNimo1(op): 11:04pm On Dec 06, 2021
The Nigerian government has said that 50 per cent of the COVID-19 positive arrivals that the country has had are from the UK. grin

Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire said this while faulting the UK government for red-listing Nigeria and other African countries over fears of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.

Ehanire described the ban as a hasty decision in an interview on Channels Television.

He said, “We regularly have travellers from the UK that are COVID-19 positive. In fact, within the last two weeks, the COVID-19 positive arrivals were 50 per cent from the UK.

“There is genetic sequencing going on; we shall have the results soon. We do not know how many of them are Omicron variants. But if every country should put other countries on a ban list because there are 21 cases in that country, very soon, you’ll have a large number of countries on your red list.

The health minister stated that there are other ways to go about this COVID-19 variant than banning flights from African countries.

“I believe that there are other ways to go about it, and we in Nigeria don’t regard banning flights and movement of people as particularly helpful,” Ehanire said

BusinessIgbo Traders Petition CBN On Multiple Charges, Deductions By Banks by NwaNimo1(op): 10:19pm On Dec 06, 2021
Igbo traders under the auspices of the South East Amalgamated Markets Traders Association (SEAMATA) has sent a Save Our Souls (SOS) to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) lamenting of multiple and indiscriminate charges and deductions on customers by commercial banks in the country.

In an open letter addressed to the CBN Governor, Dr Godwin Emefiele, provided to reporters in Enugu on Monday, the traders complained that the financial oppression depositors and account operators were going through have become unbearable.

They said, “We are directed to formally bring to your notice the indiscriminate act of financial oppression which our members and all depositors and operators of bank accounts experience on a daily basis from commercial banks through indiscriminate charges and deductions.”

It said that most of the transactions are the social responsibility of the banks, adding that the banks make deductions and charges for virtually every transaction ranging from deposits to even confirmation of signature.

According to the traders, most of the transactions the banks charge the customers were the social responsibility of the banks, decrying that the banks make deductions and charges for virtually every transaction ranging from deposits to even confirmation of signature.

SEAMATA’s letter which was signed by Chief Gozie Akudolu and Mr Alex Okwudiri, President-General and Secretary respectively, reads in part, “Part of the major responsibilities of the commercial banks, we know, is to accept money deposits from customers and keep safe custody of the same and perform such other transactions for and as directed by the customer through various bank instruments.

“Most of the transactions, we also know, are the social responsibility of the banks. But today, the banks make deductions and charges for virtually every transaction ranging from deposits to even confirmation of signature.

“The cashless economy policy of the CBN has been of immense benefits to our members especially as it curtailed to the barest minimum armed robbery attacks of our members, leading to loss of fortunes and even lives. However, today, nobody carries huge cash again on business trips.

“The commercial banks are turning themselves into becoming “sippers” to bank customers through the indiscriminate charges and deductions especially in online transactions.

“When a customer makes an online transfer of funds, the transferor is charged a certain amount of money deducted from his/her account and the recipient’s account is also charged and deductions made for receiving the money.

“In addition, charges and deductions are also made for SMS, which most of the time were not received. Finally, at intervals, charges and deductions will be made on the same account as the service charges.

“Sir, the banks are pressing our necks real hard and we are financially choking. Our members had individually approached the banks to complain but without success.

“Our only alternative is to bring our plight and indeed, the plight of all bank customers to your knowledge and most humbly and respectfully appeal that you prevail on the banks to please have compassion on the customers and stop forthwith the indiscriminate charges and deductions and if possible, refund all the deductions.

“The association has decided to go through your office for the resolution of this matter instead of besieging the bank offices with protesters which is far from what our nation needs now.”

While commending the CBN boss for good works in the proper management of the nation’s monetary policy and regulation of the operations of the commercial banks in the country, the Igbo traders expressed their strong belief in his ability, strong commitment and will-power in the successful resolution of their complaint.
