Go to the hospital. Its never too soon to register. That way you can avoid being confused. Also try reading and researching. If you read the pack of pregnacare, you will see it already contains folic acid. Happy bumping.

Went for another scan today. There is a viable gestational sac. 6 weeks. The main issue is the fibroid. These are the largest .


posterior intramural (mid portion) 7.1cm x 5.8cm

anterior intramural (lower uterine portion) 4.0 x 2.7 cm

Dear Mamas,

My scan says the uterus is bulky with myoma measuring 62.4m x 76.4m and 68.5m x 60.2m in diameter respectively.

Should I be alarmed?

Have you started your prenatal vitamins? Dont stress yourself, eat healthy and stay clear of anything that could trigger an illness ( cold, cough, malaria, typhoid) cos you know no drugs for you in 1st trimester.
Dont hesitate to ask questions.

Hi Nwarosa, it is rather late to ovulate but you should baby dance to cover all bases then you wait to see if u miss ur period and then u can do a pregnancy test because some ovulation strips can also detect early pregnancy. If you aren't pregnant, then you may have luteal phase defect which is when the 2nd half of your menstrual cycle or the luteal phase (which is the days after ovulation to when the menstrual period of a new cycle begins) is shorter than 11 days. Normal luteal phase is 12-16 days and if really you ovulated on the 28th day, then you can see that your luteal phase is just 5 days.
If you aren't pregnant in this cycle, I suggest you go and see your doctor, do a day 2 or 3 FSH, LH and do a Progesterone test in the new cycle, also do a Thyroid function test, Check for Prolactin(does your breast bring out water or milk?) You can also do an ultrasound scan to rule out PCOS and HSG to rule out any deformities in the uterus. With the results of your investigation, I am sure your attending Gynaecologist or reproductive endocrinologist will know what steps to take from there. Hope your hubby has done his SFA.
