flyingpig: Ebonyi can never win PDP governorship if he defects. At best PDP will win about 6 or 7 state house of assembly positions. One or two house of Reps but that will be all. Ebonyi politics is always heavily influenced by the sitting governor. Who made umahi governor, it was anyim and not elechi his predecessor, I don't think you know the state and its politics well. |

modath: Politics of bitterness & anger is why you typed what you did... Lagos just gives una headache... your opinion is predicated on making a mockery of this cos states like Delta refused to....A state with 5-6 ex govs, Dep, speakers on payroll after not serving for years... May God epp una minds..
In saner climes (that you lots keep referring to) political office holders go back to their jobs/ businesses when their terms are over... Bush, Clinton, Obama etc just enjoy Secret Service protection not the state still buying them groceries..... You are the one who is bitter and trying to transfer your aggression, I only said they should be paid but moderately. |

joey150: Civil servants that work way longer, earn way less while on the job and even collect way lesser as pension compared to ex governors.
A nation that has recently been labelled the "poverty capital of the world" has no business, absolutely no business paying Ex-governors that served for a maximum of 8 years humongous pensions. Giving them something modest as I listed above is not too much. |

I will devolve powers and make state governors are held accountable. No more federal roads fg should manage only the rails Financial autonomy for universities and a good graduate data base. States can generate power. Institutional and electoral reforms to permit for electronic voting and online voting too Turning civil defence to state police even if they will be paid by fg. Corruption tribunal that dispose cases in 6 months. Death sentence for anyone who loots more than a billion naira. Making sure all agencies of government publish every amount they earn and how much they earn every quarter. Deregulation of petroleum down stream and outright sale of nnpc assets and liabilities. |

If you ask me this is just a populist agenda. Paying an ex governor around 500 k monthly with a five bedroom house, a car every 8 years and taking care of his medical bills won't make a state go bankrupt. While I disagree with the amount ex lagos governors earn, it's not wasteful to take care of our ex governors.
Many are quoting me claiming super intelligent or very concerned and they were all here when a man scammed them in 2015 by claiming he will make 1#=1$ and making populist promises. |
