Ha! Is this safe? No vex o but I remember reading online when thinking about whether to give my 6month old orange or not that the acidity of oranges may cause them to have rashes and it's better or start when they are 1. That's why i'm kinda skeptical about 3-4 oranges. Please, no offence intended o, just trying to learn.
It's just a few teaspoons of the orange! It won't harm the baby Besides its not going to be an everyday thing na the constipation warrant am [/quote |

Thank you ma FloraEC: Ripe plantain Cooked egg Baby milk
I cut my plantain, cook it with little water. Bring out the egg yolk, mix the milk with water, add everything inside blender and blend till is smooth. You can mash if you want(plantain and egg yolk) and mix with milk |

You are right. That's what I meant FloraEC: She's asking if you mix the custard with raw egg yolks not the already cooked one before you cook it.
oamronnie please correct me if I'm wrong cos the fear of listeriosis is doing me |

Thank you ma hunniesuzie: I understand the question. For clarity see recipe
Mix your formula powder with water (or use expressed breastmilk) Break egg inside the mixed milk Whisk together, you should have the consistency of moin moin mix Pour in a ramekin (use a mug if you don't have ramekin) Place in a pot of water and steam for about 30 mins (like moin moin, check periodically to confirm it's cooked through)
Listeriasis won't come up here because the egg gets cooked
Recipe is on baby centre and other baby sites but you'll see cornflour and sugar in some of them |

Please for this egg custard, is it the raw yolk you mix with formula and water and then cook?
1. Yes 2. I don't think there's anything wrong with this. I haven't done it before but like Enque said I use it for his soup and purees 3. Yes. You can make egg custard. Mix with formula and water, pour in a mug and cook like moin moin |

When you have a terrible headache and keep dozing at work because you have had little or no sleep 3 nights in a row, you have to keep reminding yourself why you wanted a baby. Never mind the pain from breasts engorgement. It's not easy o. Only God makes it easy.

Please forgive me for going off topic. I want to rant!
I have very useless neighbours! Okay, that's not fair. One useless neighbour. I managed to wash a mountain of clothes I had been keeping for weeks and spread them outside. I then went about my weekend cleaning and cooking while praying for sun so my clothes will dry. Only to pack my clothes this evening and smell smoke on them o. Heavy smoky stench! The useless people cooked with firewood and the fire was right beside where I spread my clothes. I'm fuming with rage right now! The smell is so bad that i will have to wash the clothes again. Which kain wasted effort be that? |

zaynie: Once Moyo cried like that. We were on our way out, dressed in all white and he was just screaming. I tried to feed, mba. Tried to put him to my back, mba. I was at a loss for what to do. His father was already sweating, this was like 30 minutes high level cry o, no pause.... So I unclothed him and put him under running water, the water just poured and poured and he stopped crying, then I brought him out and he just slept off. I think something bit him but the African woman in me thinks he didn't want us to go out that day.
The second time it happened was ear infection. He was just crying uncontrollably, google said ear infections drive them nuts, gave him ibuprofen and he slept off.
How is he now? Better I hope. queensnow: Yes navel closes up at 3month heard it makes babies cry uncontrollable and for no reasons queensnow: Probably his navel I closing up (inu wo) Thank you mamas. They checked everything and he seems fine. He has also called down and is playing and feeding well now. They are still observing him though. Mama zaynie, I wish I has thought of the running water or paracetamol before rushing to the hospital. D kain money wey these people don collect for dis recession, ehn! I just weak. Anyways, the important thing is LO is fine now. |

Temperature is normal. I backed him from 4am to 7am yesterday and he slept but started crying immediately I put him down. All efforts to pacify him after that failed which was why we brought him to the hospital. jazzyjazz: Sorry about your sons health mama Is he running temperature? Babies don't eat when they are in pain
Maybe you can back him. He will be more relaxed. My son slept better when I backed him when he was ill When my son was sick and in admission, it was a very tough time for me.
Did the doctor check his throat to be sure he's not in pain? Before my son was admitted, he was refusing breast and formula. They gave him antibiotics injection and an hour later he was back to attacking my breasts.
Motherhood is not easy at all. When my son was admitted, there was this heavily pregnant woman in the same ward, her toddler had complications from a tonsillectomy surgery. It was not funny at all
It is well with your son He is healed in Jesus name They checked and that's not it. No fever or rash either. He has a mild cough and some stooling but the stooling was after he was placed on antibiotics. No vomiting. helovesme: To add to my previous post. Ask the doctor to check for tonsillitis. It's fairly common in babies and one of the symptoms is that babies experience pain when swallowing milk or liquid.
The pain and discomfort from swallowing is the reason why they are cranky, upset and they refuse breast milk. |

Mothers that have had to take care of sick babies, I troway salute o. It's not an easy something, mehn! LO has been on admission since yesterday and I think this is officially the hardest thing I've done all my life.
He just started crying non-stop and unconsolably for hours. This is a baby that is usually very calm o. He was refusing breastmilk on top of that. Being FTP, DH and I just rushed to the hospital straight and between then and now, they have suspected and ruled out a thousand and one things. All the tests we have done have come back fine to the glory of God but they are still keeping us for observation.
Mamas, how do you do it? I'm tired and hoping I don't go from paed ward to female ward. The headache is out of this world. I was feeling sorry for myself till a cute little boy with a heavily pregnant mom was admitted in the same room. I come dey pity d woman. She said she went into false labor cuz of all d stress. God help us all, it's not was at all.
To the point of my epistle, please any ideas what could be wrong with my LO? He's 3 months and usually very calm with a healthy appetite so the non-stop crying and refusal to feed is completely out of character.
Please, don't read and pass. E jor, e ma ro iwa mi.

On the contrary, I think coming in as another 'nurse' candidate' could piss them off. But again, it could buy you some favors depending on who you know and how the person relates with other colleagues. I actually used FSH Jabi and it was quite nice but if the distance is a concern, you might want to consider FSH Gwarinpa. It's smaller but also quite good. I registered there when we were still living in Dutse but changed to Jabi when we moved to Lugbe. Let me warn you though, the crowd at both hospitals no be here o. Especially Jabi! Anugod: Ewooo I know some of the nurses can be really nasty sha. Dh had even removed his mind from there and was planning alternative. It's my last experience there that's still keeping us there. Cos I met nice nurses. Since the tests I did there that I was given wrong results, hubby hates the place. I'm not sure he wants me to even birth there. If I now tell him this one ehn... Thanks mama, I'll not relax there. I'll be ready to pack my shoes and run if push turns to shove. We had Federal Staff Hospital, Jabi in mind o, but I discouraged him cos of distance...in case of emergency I'll be really mindful sha, thanks ma.
PS. Does it help to have contact of some nurses there? Cos dh knows two nurses in kubwa, but they are not in maternity ward. So we never bother to use them. But can I suggest coming in as a nurse's candidate? Would it help the attitude of other nurses? gel n |

Not to scare you mama but I had a really nasty experience at that GH Kubwa. The nurses I encountered were really rude and mean. Someone actually died while I was on admission in the ward due to their negligence and they left the dead body with us there in the ward for hours. Please be vigilant and prayerful and don't hesitate to change hospital sharply if anything seems off. Wishing you a smooth ride. Anugod: Abi o. Na so I go jus dey look any preggy woman wey I see maybe na you.
Kubwa is closer to me now so I use GH Kubwa. Had it been we still dey dutse, na that Bwari I for dey go. Do you attend church in dutse? I attend Dunamis for Sokale |

Piece of advice to working mothers who are doing EBF. If you are still on leave and want to continue EBF when you resume work, pleaseeeeeee, start 'bottle training' LO like 2 weeks before you resume. My DS showed me shege this week and I've learnt my lesson the hard way. He just kept pushing out the bottle with his tongue as if I gave him bitterleaf. Thank God we still have a few weeks before resumption. |
