Question: Would it be the icing on the cake to win the FA Cup? OGS: “We’re about winning trophies and FA Cup final is such a fantastic one to play in, I played in 1999 at Wembley. I think that was the last one at Wembley. Having watched so many FA Cup finals as a kid, to walk from the dressing room to the pitch was fantastic, I’ve seen so many times in Norway. And that’s what we hope for, get to the final, whatever competition you’re in, you want to win and you expect, I’m not sure if you expect to win it, but that’s more or less what you do expect from a club like this and players we’ve got.” |
Question: Will Dubai be a chance to get to know the players? OGS: “I’ve got to know them, had plenty of time to speak with them but not much time to train so if any of the players think it’s a holiday they’re wrong, we’re there to stick together, to work hard on the physical part of it ahead of the Tottenham game.” |
Question: What do you make of the squad? “They’ve not scared me yet. I’ve enjoyed working with them, they want to learn and improve, that’s key, if you’re hungry and humble enough to improve then we’ll improve as a team in the end.” |
Question: Did he learn anything from the players against Newcastle? OGS: “Definitely. I thought it would be a tough one and I’d learn how they’d react. I felt we were a bit safer in the way we played but second half you could see the pace, the power, the counter-attacking, the forward thinking and solid at the back.” |
Question: Was the win against Newcastle the most impressive to date? OGS: “It depends on how you look at it. Maybe the first three games were the honey moon and you expect to win. You go up there (to Newcastle) and it’s a difficult place to go. All in all, yeah it’s a first clean sheet. To come away with three points, brilliant, but I enjoyed the home games more.” |
[There are] no injuries to be concerned about. Obviously it was Wednesday night [against Newcastle] and it’s Saturday morning [against Reading] so there will be a few changes. "Many of them have played four games on the bounce and are feeling the Christmas period so there might be a couple of changes, or maybe a few more, but we’re ready for Reading. “Definitely, players will get the chance. When they’re here, they’re good enough to play for Man United and you trust them, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“Rojo [and] Smalling - they're out, I'm not sure if Paul [Pogba] is going to be ready for this one. He got a knock against Newcastle and hopefully Fellaini will get through the training session today and then we're more or less a full squad. "There'll be a few changes and they'll get a chance. Some of them are itching now to play, of course. Get Lukaku a start, get Sanchez a start. That's important for them, because they need more game time.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
afrodoc2:I actually prefer Koulibally but the Amount quoting on him is too much. |
How good is Toby Alderweireld?! He's gonna be available for £25m in the Summer, hence I presume he can be bought for £30+ in this Transfer Window. |
Princezibk: ![]() Sorry Ma'am....... Would have easily known with F tag though. |
Princezibk: ![]() Well it all depends on Understanding Bro. I clearly comprehend your PoV, but You need to think about something....... What do they stand to gain by hating or degrading the Players?! I can authoritatively tell you we are all on the same Page - no one is wishing for Anyone's downfall. Even Afrobear with is Average ish wants the best for the Eagles. What you should know is; Everyone Following this Thread actively or in ghost mode is due to a Reason - Passion. We are following cos we want our Players to be standout Performers at their respective Clubs. We want our Players to be scouted, bought and regular at big Clubs. We want our Players to be in the League of Salahs, Aubameyangs and Co. Not everyone is satisfied with settling for less bro; celebrating Mediocrity or a flash of Brilliance once in a while. Wif has been consistent, he's getting noticed and was even discussed at United Thread as a United Material. That's what we are hoping, praying for. We want the best for our Lads, and we appreciate things in different Manners. Some Dudes can only appreciate Consistency not a Flash of Brilliance once in a while. |
Curtisaxel7: ![]() Bro....... The Phrase; "bringing him down" is tiring and very absurd. |
peterd53: ![]() I've been corrected by Andrew444 though, but thanks as well. That should be one of the Priorities of this Thread. No one is perfect, no one is epitome of Knowledge..... Thus we can learn from each other. |
andrew444: ![]() Thanks for the Correction bro. |
See sense of Reasoning for Goodness Sake? Seem some Dudes ain't ready to grow up. They are rather too emotional and Perhaps behaving like Kids. What's the essence of a Thread if Everyone is always on the same Page?! Do we wanna turn the Thread to a Mango Park?! Simply to visit, enjoy some playful Moments and zoom off?! Some Dudes need to spend few Days on the European Football Section to understand how matured Men reason and engage in Discourse. I repeat once again, no one is hating on anyone, hence I advise the so called Core-Members to stop bullying and pissing off People from this Thread. What do they stand to gain from bullying?! To gain cheap Likes from Bird of a Feather?! Everyone happy when our Boys did or doing Great. Chuks is developing well as a Footballer, and its gonna be Joy for Everybody if he becomes a hotcake in the football World. This is exactly what the Monikers tagged as Haters are hoping for. If you want us to be engaging in Praise and Worship only, then the Thread will lose its Value. Chuks and Wif are making us proud, Iwobi ain't doing bad but must buckle up. Success had many Chances, you kept reading on here that he's a Beast without poaching or churning out Goals. What's the Duty of a Striker? Beasting?! Guess we saw the last Watford Match?! We keep saying Leicester style of Play ain't compatible with Nacho's style of Play?! Then what makes him a Professional?! CR7 is banging Goals in Serie A, how come he's compatible with Juventus style of Play?! Someone woke up early Morning to diss and curse Fellows for having contrary Views..... And you are wondering why Nigeria is in shambles?! |
![]() I was even addressed as a Certain Moniker by a supposed Elder on this Thread, simply for dropping my Opinion?! LMAO! I am not bothered by whatever you tag me, cos its apparent some are made up to celebrate Mediocrity in the name of Patriotism. This is how Iheanacho was being hailed as an hybrid of Messi and Ronaldo until he's turning out to become an hybrid of Morata and Lukaku. There is something we need to learn on this Thread; critiquing ain't the same with criticizing. So far the only Player on the rise is Wif Ndidi. He's being noted week in week out. Several Scouts from big Clubs are watching him on every Match day. How many times has Ndidi been called out or criticize on this Forum? Few only complained he should master the Art of passing - which I believe gonna help him to reach the world class Level. How many Salahs, Manes, Aubameyangs, Keitas, Koulibalis, even Baillys........ Do we have in the present Eagles?! The earlier we learn calling Lagos; Dubai, won't miraculously turn it Dubai. |
Earthquake1: ![]() I used to be active until I realize Patriotism is rather understood as Fanaticism on this Thread..... To some extent - its becoming Extremism. It does baffle me when having a contrary Views is tantamount to hating, critiquing national Players is rather believed to be; bringing them down. Most times, you gonna need to re-watch a Match cos Comments here would make you think - you are seeing a different Match that nigerian Player(s) is involved. You will be completely marvelled with the Updates; if you ain't seeing the Game. Every time, we must dig out Beer-Palour Stats from lame Sites to prove our Players are as performing as Messi and the Ilks. Every time..... Our Players must be the standout Performers on the Pitch. Why do we feel happy from feeding ourselves with Lies, unverifiable Facts?! Ain't it too lame comparing Mbappe with any of our present young Guns?! Ain't it a peak of foolery thinking Onyekuru will bench Mbappe at PSG?! I saw the Arsenal last Match and wasn't impressed with Iwobi's Performance at all. Wanted to call him out for squaring a Pass to Laca instead of shooting on Goal for a Rebound - but the fear of being tagged an Hater who wanna bring him down made me to desist. I do not have thick skin like Mickael2, Forgiveness, elyte89, Komekn, Curtisaxel7....... Hence I decide watching from the Sideline but never abandon like goldfish80 or Mujtahida. |

"You have to be ready - that's what Manager asked of me before the Game. I just felt I had to help the Team, I'm just delighted we won and we have to keep going. " I knew his [Marcus's] shooting Technique, that he would dip it and the Goalkeeper might fumble it like he did in the first Half and I was ready to gamble - you should always be there." - Romelu Lukaku |
"It's totally different [having Ole as a Coach]. I think Marcus, Anthony and I are learning a lot from him - especially from the offensive Side. "He's just trying to make us better and to win Games. So far so good but we need to keep going." - Romelu Lukaku |
“I’ve had that [fan support] ever since my first second at this club. I scored after six minutes and, since then, they’ve been shouting my name. "It’s one of those things. You never ever forget it and it’s so humbling but it’s a fantastic experience of course, to be here and hear those songs. It’s important you celebrate these wins along the way. You’ve got to enjoy the journey, not just the end product. "Every time you win a game, it’s time to celebrate and to pat yourself on the back. Tomorrow morning, you get up and out of bed ready for the next game. I've been here after the 5-0 defeat (in 1996) and luckily today they can go home happily. It was fantastic.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“We've got the FA Cup on Saturday morning, 12:30 kick-off. But then we'll go to Dubai and work on a bit of fitness. Of course, it's a good time now. You need that fitness work because towards the end of March and April we'll need legs and I think we've got them.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“It's a long season. As long as you take one game at a time and chalk off those points, you never know where you'll end up. “It [winning his opening four games like Sir Matt Busby] will be in the books but it’s nothing I’m thinking about. I’m thinking about the next game. "If we win four, we can win another four. At this club, that’s the challenge and that’s the standard we’re known for. It’s about meeting challenges and when we’ve won four, we can go on to the next four and think about them.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“Yeah, of course. It's a squad game, it's a team game and we know everyone's going to play a part. Every single player here is going to have a say in us moving up the table and getting the results and performances that we need. "Today, I thought the ones who started did really well. We were solid and then the strikers made the difference. These games, when you go to these places, when you're getting a bit tired — that's when your character comes out. "That's when your personality and your hunger to win games comes out. Everyone wants to win but you see these players, the character... they needed to win this game.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“The team talk was about game management, especially keeping the crowd quiet. In the first 10-12 minutes we did that really well and kept them at bay but then we made one or two mistakes and the crowd got going. "Suddenly, you’re under pressure and [Christian] Atsu got away down the left a couple of times. Phil [Jones] made a great block and tackle but, again, those were the moments you don’t want to have in front of a crowd at a club like this. But I thought the lads really got into the game again and the fans again were fantastic, as I said before.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“You can play with two of them [Rashford and Lukaku], no problem. One can play on the right, or two through the middle. It gives me options.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“I felt it was time to bring Romelu and Alexis on. It was a great hit by Marcus. Rom did his job as a striker to be following in on the rebound. If you do that, you’ll get five or six goals [that way] every season. "When you see big Rom running towards you as a goalkeeper, I think you're going to move your hands away!” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“We've had a clean sheet in every single game, apart from set-pieces! When you keep a clean sheet you've always got a chance to win a game because we've got quality going forward. To keep one of them is a bonus and it's great.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
“The performance was really professional. We were very solid to come here against a club like this, with the fans they've got, and I thought it was excellent, how the boys dealt with it — especially in the second half. "In the first half, we kept them at bay for about 15 minutes but then made some mistakes and the crowd got going again. It's always harder for you then. We never hit the heights that we can do, but still, I felt we were in control, kept plugging away.” - Ole Gunner Solskjaer |
![]() Marcus Rojo is still a United Player though. Hopefully he might be the missing Puzzle, perfect Combo with Lindelof. |
The big Test is coming after the Reading Match. OGS must rest Rashford, Martial, Matic, Pogba, Herrera, Lindelof, Shaw and De Gea against Reading. Spurs ain't gonna be easy to deal with. Its a Test for both Managers to prove their serves for the Hot-Seat. |
![]() We are closing gap on top 4...... Slowly but surely we will get there. Mata's Contract shouldn't be renewed, he needs to retire and concentrate on blogging.... His new calling. Valencia's Contract shouldn't be renewed and as well terminated. He offered nothing positive throughout the Match. in fact i will prefer we keep Darmian instead of him. Young seems he's our best RB at the moment. He deserves a new Contract Extension. Lukaku should be our OGS. His first Touch can't EVER be redeemed. He should be introduced when the opposing Sides are tired and couldn't track or run after the Ball anymore. I hope to see the trio of Sanchez, Martial and Rashford in our EPL Match. Also, Matic deserves a Rest, hence I expect OGS to start Perreira in the next Match. All in all..... 2 Goals added, 4 Wins in 4 Matches, OGS deserves a look in! |
