If u ask me,this world cup was supposed to be our best ever... in terms of preparation and the type of players we took, we were supposed to do better than that...we lost d first and last games due to Rohr stupidity...
Well its past now... our focus should b on the AFCON qualifier.. we can't afford to miss out again..
grin

Yes..... the Preparation was a top-notch. NFF did their best to ensure the Team is well prepared with no iota form of Distractions, I guess for the first time since I've been following the National Teams.

We've moved on already, but my Point exactly is; Rohr should never be the Coach to lead us to Qatar 2022 except he would go for further (advanced) Coaching Courses, learn under top Managers in the World for at least 2 Years.

However, in my Opinion, NFF should honorably discharge Rohr after the AFCON 2019, then hire a real World-Class Coach on a 3 Years Contract with an Option to extend based on his Performances, to lead us to Qatar 2022.

The friendlies were a warning sign that Rohr might choke...we chose to ignore it and claim we'd show up.
In as much as we weren't favorites to get out of the group, Rohr's in game management especially against Argentina killed us. I'll never ever forgive him for letting Argentina bring in Pavon and Aguero and he just kept quiet forgetting he has a 31 year old Mikel in midfield and his LB was getting tag teamed.
His indecision and Ighalo killed us
.
grin

You are very spot on Bruh! I keep wondering why the Franco-German Salisu Yusuf didn't make any positive move to kill the Game?!

He should have at least changed the Formation to 5 - 4 - 1 or 4 - 5 - 1 to cut off Argies Wing plays, choked the middle, lessen the Pressure on the Defence and as well switched the Tactics to defensive Mode.

But he was standing like a Pole on the Side Line with no Clue of what to be done to salvage the Point. No matter what Anyone says, I can't ever be convinced Rohr is tactically good, he's simply a lucky Dumbass, and he's building nothing!

Thats the biggest mystery yet. I think the real reason is that he had no vision of success here but equally he was out of his depth here. We qualified well against tough opposition and then thrashed the Argies and from theere we regressed from there on.
We were much more an Underdog during the Qualifiers. Majority of Nigerians had written off the our Chances after the Draws were made. Majority weren't expecting them to win the Group, thus they were less pressured and were able to maximize it to good Effect.

Rohr wanted to play the same Card in Russia, but failed woefully. He wanted the Team to be viewed as Underdog but our Jerseys brought us to the World. He wanted low Attention on the Team, but our Performance during the Qualifiers couldn't help either.

The friendlies were all a waste of time because he learnt nothing from it at all. When i saw nigeria against argentina in the friendly i said with that formation we will do well and looking at the WC the standard has been poor. England making it to the semi finals is a joke based on how they have played. Imagine this team against the team of 1990. I do beleive that Mikel must go - hes to much of a personality, commands to much respect but does nothing
The Essence of Friendlies to to prepare the Team, to experiments some Ideas, look for the Positives and Negatives in the Team, and do your best as a Coach to fix the Holes in the Team.

Rohr tried out 3 - 5 - 2 against Argies and it worked. Damn it was like a Bomb. I couldn't believe it Bruh. We were great and composed. Why didn't he build on it?! The same Formation England tried out during Friendlies that gave them good Results and Vibes is still the same that carries them to the Semi-Final Bruh.

I don't wanna talk much about Rohr's Failure buddy, coz it's very upsetting. He's damn too weak on the World Stage. He's not the one we need for Qatar 2022, except he's gonna be sponsored on further Coaching Courses in Europe under the Top Teams Managers in the 5 best Leagues in Europe and World at large.

but we just have to keep up with him.. because he will help us unearth some of the foreign born indigenous coaches can't reach .....how I wish a brillant coach like yusuf was...he would have been helpful

indigenous coaches like siasia and amuneke will still messed it up with their biased selection.....so better we stick to rohr...he is the foreign coach we can afford at the moment...
That's the only Reason I want him in the Job till perhaps 2020.

our working conditions here in Nigeria can't handle a coach like LVG....
but to be true...rohr cost us this world cup....
had it been the coward coach...took time perfect the 3-5-2 formation during those friendlies... we won't have ease out from the world cup so fast...

the coach messed up big time...Croatia was there for the taking that day....but rohr being a coward sticked to the 4-2-3-1 formation.
grin

You nailed Bruh. He played the damn Formation against the Argies in a Friendly and it was fantastic.

He ought to have built on it. Work out tactical Plans and Lineup that gonna perfectly fit into the Formation, but the Franco-German Salisu Yusuf thought we are still playing Qualifiers.

Why did he fail to learn from the Friendlies?! Did he fail to see the Squad was good for 3 -. 5 - 2 Formation?! Tactically many things were wrong with the Team at the Mundial.

Rohr ain't the Answer for the Eagles. I ain't saying he shouldn't retained, but he's not the right man to prepare the Team for the Qatar 2022.

TheGoodJoe:
Just to point out that Kyle Walker played in a 3-Man defence for Manchester City.

If we are to pick a coach, Mine will be to lure Louis Van Gaal out of retirement. A true tactical master and also innovative. Van Gaal has a history of helping in the development of genuine young stars as he did with Xavi, Iniesta who just spend six months with Van Gaal but believe the manager was the most important in his development. Other young stars including Quaresma, Sambrosa, Alaba, Muller, Kroos, Martial, Depay, Rashford, Lingaard, Seedorf, Kluivert, Edgar Davids and a host of others.

Van Gaal played a big part in the return of the 3-5-2 formation and will have a map for the development of our team. However, we would need patience for him to groom the team to play his brand of passing football. I would also like to see Finidi and Amunike working with him.

Well. This is just a wish and bringing Van Gaal will cost a fortune. If two multinationals come together, we can achieve it.

Finito.
But Kyle Walker played more as a RB almost through last Season coz Pep rarely played 3 CBs.

I wouldn't mind LVG too. He's definitely a Force to reckon with in the Game, far better than the myopic Tool working as a Coach of the Super Eagles.

The Thread would never stop being amazing. How is England a Cheat for God's sake?! They won U17 World Cup, won U20 World Cup, and in the Semi-Final of the senior World Cup now......... are they Coincidence?!

England is building a Project to Perfection. They did their Home-work before every Competition, and the Preparation is panning out positively for them.

Both Belgium and England have one thing in Common..... 3 - 5 - 2 Formation and pure attacking Football with Pace. They are tactically setup and disciplined. Each Player knows his Role on the Pitch and doing it closer to perfection.

Let's take England as an Instance; Kyle Walker is playing in a 3-Man Defence and he's excelling there. Who saw it coming?! Whoever imagine Young would be a starter for England at the Mundial?! Raheem partnering Kane in a two-Man Attack?! These are pre-planned Tactics, and are absolutely working for the Team at the Mundial.

Belgium on the other also plan well for the World Cup. Has Chadli ever played as a Wing-back?! So far he's being fantastic in the Role. Until the Quarter Final Game, KDB was playing as a deep-lying Playmaker cum B2B Midfielder, and he was doing fine in the Role.

Mertens was a Starter ahead of Fellaini but the Lineup was tweaked against Brazil and it worked absolutely fine for the Team. Guess we realized KDB played as a false 9 while both Lukaku and Hazard play as inverted Wingers in their last Match.

These are real modern Coaches that know their Onions, unlike Rohr who had to be pressured by the Media, Pundits and Fans that 3 - 5 - 2 Formation is the Deal, and best suited Players at his Disposal.

There is something very apparent in this World Cup and peculiar to the Teams in the Semi-Final, tactical superiority wins the Games. We are in 21st Century, hence football has changed to Science completely.

In fairness, Gernot Rohr is very Dumb. He's not better in any way than the Local Coaches especially Siasia and perhaps Amuneke. He's simply a German-Franco version of Salisu Yusuf.

NFF did everything to prepare the Team for the Mundial. Arranged series of Friendly Matches, even with top Teams - England, Serbia, Chile and Co.

Lobbied with CAF Board to cancel the AFCON Qualifiers slated for March to ensure no Injury is recorded amongst the Teams representing the Continent, so what was the Result? Failure!

Even a Twerp could figure out during the Friendlies that 3 - 5 - 2 Formation would have taken us far in the Competition. Also playing Moses as a Wing-back instead of Playmaker and Mikel as a DM would have been the right Calls.

Was the Muppet really in control of the Team at the Mundial? I doubt it! Coz to me he's more a Puppet to the big Guns in the Squad.

If wanna eat a Frog, we should it a Kind with Eggs. If we wanna hire a foreign Coach, I advise we go for the best, not just a white Man born in Europe with no tangible Record of Success in the Game of Round Leather.

For clarity sake, Siasia was never a FLOP as a Coach of the Super Eagles. Some of us are simply ill-informed, only following here-says as Facts.

How could you ascribe Failure to a Coach who played 2 away Matches and got 4 Points in the AFCON Qualifiers?! How could you ascribe FLOP to a Coach who didn't lose a Match during the Qualifiers but couldn't hijack the first Spot narrowly while on a Rescue Mission?!

Was he the one that began the Qualifiers as a Coach of the Team?! Siasia was appointed after two Matches in which one was won and the other was lost to the eventual Group Winner for God's sake.

Please Dudes, let's stop mis-informing our respective Selves. Don't just drop Post(s) without verifying it's objectivity and credibility.

What has Siasia done with the National team or any club side

We gave him the job and he goofed big time
grin

Mind you Siasia was never given a fair Chance at the Senior National Team. The first time he was appointed, it was for a Rescue Mission after the Eagles abysmal Performance at the 2010 World Cup.

He was appointed in November 2010 and sacked in October 2011 - not up to a Year Bruh - for failing to qualify us for the AFCON 2012 though.

He did his Best to get us qualified but was killed by the Naivete of the technical Unit of the NFF. They weren't assembled to sit and discuss Ludo Game, rather to look after the National Teams from the technical Point of View.

We won a Match and lost a Match (to the Group eventual Winner) prior to his Appointment. We didn't lose a single qualifying Match under him. We walloped Ethiopia 4 - 0 in Nigeria, and came from behind to draw 2 - 2 in the away Match.

We defeated Madagascar 2 - 0 on their Home Soil but poorly conceded a late Goal against Guinea in Nigeria to draw 2 - 2. Do you know why? It's because the Damage was done before Siasia was appointed coz we lost to them on their Home Soil.

We were leading 2 - 1 by 84". Siasia was considering H2H (Away Goal) Rule, thus he wanted one more Goal to seal our Qualification, but unluckily conceded in the last Minute of the Match.

Had he well informed of what he's needed to qualify us for the Tourney, he wouldn't have gone Gung-ho to win the last qualifying Match. So how could he be termed a FLOP with this kinda Results and Performances?

His second Spell was interim and only lasted for few Weeks. He was appointed to steady the Ship after the Resignation of Nigerian Pep Guardiola - Sunday Oliseh.

NFF have already made up their Mind to hire a foreign Coach, hence Siasia was never considered, he was rather appointed to hold the Team together until a foreign Coach is appointed, which he did honorably.

In 2005, he led the U20 Team to win the African Youth Championship.

In 2005, he narrowly lost to Argentina in the Final of U20 World Cup as a Runner up. When was the last time we did well in the Competition since 2005?!

In 2008, the U-23 team won the inaugural Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia. The Team was composed entirely of domestic Nigerian players and won the Cup against many teams headed for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

We were grouped with the host Nation, Ireland and Iraq. Guess what we didn't lose a Match and won the Group by 7 Points. The Runner up in the Group, Ireland, had 4 Points.

We beat Chile in the Semi-Final by 2 - 1 and won the Australia in the Final to clinch the Trophy by 2 unreplied Goals.

In 2008, he coached the Nigerian Under-23 Olympic squad to the final against Argentina. In a superbly played series of matches, Nigeria's team earned the Olympic Silver Medals.

Do you wanna know the Squad of Argentina that Siasia led U23 Team narrowly lost to?!

Leicester have signed a highly rated attacking Player in James Maddison for £22m that could rise to £24m. The 21yrs old young Attacker banged 14 Goals, 8 Assists and also won 8 MoTM Accolades in the Championship last Season. He can play multiple Positions - good; on the Ball, taking set pieces, through passes, holding on to the Ball and so on.

What's gonna happen to our darling Iheanacho next Season?! Are we gonna be hoping the Coach is sacked and Pellegrini quits Westham and signs for Leicester or Iheanacho forces a loan Move to Westham to play under Pellegrini?!

We shouldn't forget Westham have quite Number of Strikers who are hustling for Game Times. Amongst are Chicharito and Carroll. Can he displace them in the pecking Order or perhaps walks straight to the first XI?!

Dudes ain't bringing Nacho Down, only damn worry about his Progress. Some of us are tired of fantasy cos its time to face the Reality.
