“There are four changes in the team to try to give a bit of fresh legs and intensity. We have experience and our motivation is to try to win the game." - Jose Mourinho |
Mkhitaryan is on the Bench. He'd travel with the Team. |
Lineup
|
"If a team defends poorly and concedes five goals but attacks phenomenally well and scores six then that is absolutely beautiful and amazing. "I know that my team can't score four, five or six goals every match. I know that especially with a certain profile of match it is difficult for us to score a lot of goals so we have to try and find the balance and I am really happy with what the team is doing." - Jose Mourinho |
"Our philosophy is not to moan, to cry [about injuries]. I moan about other things, I cry about fixtures, [having] no time to rest in between matches. I moan that I don't understand that we play Saturday after Wednesday when we should play Sunday. I moan about this all the time but not about injuries. "If some managers say Mourinho always moans about the fixtures then they are right but nobody can say I moan about injuries because I always try to speak about opportunities for other players. "Would Scott McTominay make his debut in the Champions League if we have Carrick, Pogba and Fellaini available? No - he wouldn't even be on the bench." - Jose Mourinho |
"I don't speak to him, I don't know why he speaks to me but that is no problem or maybe it is not his fault and it is the journalists fault when they pass to him the wrong message. "There are managers all over the world that by philosophy they prefer to speak about injuries, they prefer to try to find the excuse of a hypothetical failure based on injuries. "Since last season we had big injuries and last season you know that without Lukaku, Zlatan was even more important for us and [everyone knows] what Pogba means for us." - Jose Mourinho |
“In relation to the last match, [speaking about the Champions League] I’d like to know — because I don’t know — when United last won two consecutive matches away (2010, against Bursaspor and Rangers). “I’d like to know the last time United won nine points from three matches in the Champions League (2012). So we’re doing okay.” - Jose Mourinho |
“I think it’s my fault — because people are used to my teams getting good results and winning titles. Other people have more time than I have, other people have different standards than I have... and that’s not a problem for me at all. “We’re going to lose matches, that’s obvious, and I can imagine we’re going to have even more criticism than we have now, but honestly? No problem. It’s not a motivation. It doesn’t change my mind or my stability. We work hard, we try to do the best we can and get the best possible results." - Jose Mourinho |
To me.... no matter how lazy Ozil is, he's definitely gonna be an Upgrade on Mkhitaryan! |
Bibidear: ![]() Don't just be reading Comments, also make some! |
Bibidear: ![]() We were expecting you to back on the Match Day! What a Surprise?! |
LoRdCaT: ![]() Your Lordship is needed to resuscitate the Thread! |
"Ozil has reportedly been bragging to his Arsenal teammates that he expects to re-join his former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United in the January transfer window, with Wenger's desire to keep his play maker in North London having cooled on the back of some indifferent form." |
![]() Perhaps LoRdCaT, his Nigga & Sissie should honorably move their Drama to Arsenal Fans Thread. |
“Everybody knows the Premier League and what it means to play [in it for the] newly-promoted teams "It's nothing new. Every team in the Premier League is good, every team in the Premier League thinks and thinks well that they can win every match and against every opponent.” - Jose Mourinho |
"The place will be buzzing, the people will be happy to have a big club playing in their city, in their stadium, and it will be a big motivation for them, we know clearly that but I think we are going to be ready.” - Jose Mourinho |
"I don't want to speak about signings and I don't want to speak about the market and I don't want to speak about January. “We are in October, we have November to play, we have December to play, so why should I be speaking about the market when the market is January?” - Jose Mourinho |
“The injury process normally is a process of some guys get injured, some guys recover from injury, unless we lose completely the balance, this happens to almost every team. "Unless a team has a phenomenal season where everything goes well and not even a broken nail happens to a player. [Soon], Zlatan, Marcos [Rojo], Pogba and Fellaini will be back and somebody [else] will get injured and I think that's a normal process.” - Jose Mourinho |
"Paul is not here, I don't know when he comes back. I don't know when he's available. Zlatan is here, he's working here and under our control. "He's working as you would expect so, so, so hard. But he's not to be back in the next week or next couple of weeks. Do I believe he'll be back in 2017? Yes, I do. But it's just a feeling.” - Jose Mourinho |
"The best thing to do it is to speak always about opportunities for others, trust for others and believe in others." - Jose Mourinho |
"Nobody else has returned to fitness. We have the same players as we had for the Benfica match.” - Jose Mourinho |
"I am delighted Scott has signed a new contract, he is one of our young players that has gone from strength to strength. "He made his Premier League debut at the end of last season and made his Champions League debut this season. I had no hesitation in promoting Scott to the first-team squad last month as we have total belief in him." - Jose Mourinho |
"I have grown up at this great club and it has always been a big part of my life. I attended the club’s development centre in Preston from the age of five and have gone on to progress from there. "To make my debut at the end of last season was a dream come true, and I would like to thank the manager for the faith that he has shown in me. I was absolutely delighted when the manager promoted me to the first-team squad and I am looking forward to continuing my journey with this fantastic team." - Scott McTominay |
NEW DEAL FOR SCOTT MCTOMINAY Manchester United is delighted to announce that Scott McTominay has signed a new contract which will keep him at the club until June 2021, with the option to extend for a further year. |
"He [Jose Mourinho] was my enemy when he was in charge at Madrid or Chelsea, competing and wanting to beat him. "From there I became his player at Chelsea and would go with him to the death. I learned a lot, I have a very positive memory of him. Forever." - CESC FABREGAS |
"Marcus has had a fantastic start to his career. He now has to go onto that next level and keep learning in every training session and every game. "Marcus is one of those players who - I have been to Old Trafford a couple of times this season - as soon as he gets the ball you can feel it in the crowd. "You can feel the excitement. He gets you off the edge of your seat." - Ryan Giggs |
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has reportedly informed his teammates that he will sign for Manchester United where he would link up once again with his former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho. Ozil is out of contract at the Emirates next summer and would be able to move to another club for free while Arsenal could look to offload him in January. According to the Daily Mirror, Ozil is 'confident' of the move to Old Trafford materialising. |
DEALS FOR MAN UTD QUARTET Manchester United are set to reward Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Phil Jones with new contracts following their good performances this season. Mata, Herrera and Fellaini's current contracts are all set to expire next summer while Jones' existing deal runs until 2019. |
