CARDOSO’S INTERVIEW WITH ARISETV:-
On Forex backlog :-The biggest high point which has made the news is the discovery of yet another $2.4 billion unverifiable claims which are more or less fraudulent. He then assured the CBN was going to pay the verifiable balance of $2.2 billion “shortly”
On Naira Stability :- He stressed the need to tame the current Volatility which remains his most overriding concern. He said they were looking to make the market more open, transparent and further liberalize it, which will then lead to the effective price discovery of Naira.
In saving the Naira:-
Short term goals are;- Banks selling their excess dollars, getting most of the diaspora remittance into the official channel by engaging stakeholders, and making NNPC and MDAs accrue their forex earnings to the CBN.
Mid term goals:- Build market confidence to attract Foreign portfolio investment ( FPI). He said a lot of investors have shown interest and taking notes of the reforms
Long term goal :- Increasing export and FDI. He remains bullish about the fact that Naira is still very much undervalued and also reiterated that CBN is not converting domiciliary account into Naira as that “goes against the grain of a free market”.
On CBN’s Fiscal Intervention:- Cardoso walks back on his earlier stance. He said the CBN is opened to intervention but must be well thought out and with the direct collaboration of all stakeholders as CBN do not have the luxury to another failed intervention. He mentioned the prospect of potential interventions to farmers, manufacturers and MSMEs.
On MPC:- New members of the monetary policy committee have been chosen and to be made public soon. He promised to make their decisions impactful to the economy.
Finally he talked about getting feedback from Nigerians about their policies especially through social media. He reassured Nigerians that there is no need to panic and the time for cynicism was in the past. He is moving ahead and focused on getting things done.

At about 5:40pm yesterday, a patrol team from Okokomaiko Division stopped and searched a Volkswagen LT bus at Afromedia. Found in the bus were seventy cartons of Feed Fine Cyproheptadine Caplets 4g, all with expiry date of 2016.
The two occupants of the vehicle, Augustine Egemoye ‘m’ aged 60 and Innocent Eremosele ‘m’ aged 35 confessed they were taking the expired drugs to somebody in Alaba who would change the expiry dates and thereafter proceed with the drugs to Port-harcourt to be sold. Suspects, drug and the vehicle are currently in custody.
Efforts are on to arrest the owner of the drugs, the individual altering expiry dates and other indicted persons.

Hamas are predominantly sunni Muslims while Iranians are predominantly shi'a Muslims.
Iran support Hamas but I am not sure they are arming them. Hezbollah and Houthis are being armed by Iran, while Hamas are making their weapons locally. |

raumdeuter: Why is that a problem? He is paying for the 8hrs and he needs to know what you are doing 100% of the time you are at work
He is not with your physically and to do remote work you need to constantly communicate with him everytime
You cannot be remote, your manage sends IM to you and you don't reply in 30mins, that's a problem .....did you see his Schedule? Make I share first and tell me how a Naija base won't get issue with him in less down 48hrs.

raumdeuter: INEC does not need to write any result. Obi can never win.
Best bet is for him to align under Atiku to try depose Tinubu
The only candidate that can beat Tinubu at this point is a unified PDP under candidate with name recognition of either Atiku or Buhari
That is the truth. You don't need to like it but it's the truth. Just like I told folks that a splintered Obi and Atiku is the best gift to APC, same will it be in 2027 .......fact only.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by OasisX: 9:32am On Feb 03, 2024 |
Itsrm: Apart from the fact that I trust politicians to frustrate it, the move makes no sense to me and it certainly cannot make sense to anybody in CBN.
If they convert it to Naira and people use it to buy usdt and further drive up the price, what good will that be and what will they have achieved?
Do you have any idea what will happen if just 10bn out of the 30bn in dom account starts chasing Usdt?
PS: Punch is even basing this on the opinion of one man who they didn't even mention. Was it not this same Punch who reported that Naira has rebounded? I believe you know WhatsApp BC when you see one? Cos its carried by Punch or Vanguard ain't making it less a BC bruh, cos Nigeria Journalists are sourcing their news from WhatsApp BCs these days or Twitter Posts. LOL!
