sayoberry: oawele pls i need to confirm from u (don't mind me I need to plan well)
was the delivery eventually through CShuh doctores sent another mail to me this morning to note that all twin deliveries is going to be through CS.
me no want CS o. unless if the two babies refused to turn together. sad
@sayoberry my personal findings is that MIHS are more willing to carry out a normal delivery or VBAC for twins compared to doctorparati. that was one of the reasons i decided on going with MIHS.

Finally, the decision on which hospital to use is yours. Dont quote my personal opinion elsewhere but i strongly believe in my findings....

i did not use Doctorparati again, ended up using MIHS. However, the bill i got from doctorparati was for twin CS delivery.

@Nefertitiram i am so sorry about the loss, may the good Lord grant you fortitude. Take heart and be strong my dear. It is well with you!

nefertitiram: Dear All,
I wish I could post a POE story, but I developed severe complications on the day I was to leave for US. I am sure my friend @dinawe who we were supposed to travel together must have been confounded by my disappearance at the airport.
I started bleeding a few hours to my flight, and was rushed to a hosp. I had lost so much blood so they had to carry out an emergency surgery to save my life.
My babies were born at 27 weeks and are currently in an incubator. I am in recovery as well.
In all things I can only give thanks to God, things could have been much worse if I had gotten on that flight.
@dinawe, please reach out to me when you arrive phoenix. This is why I didn't show up for our flight, but I and the babies are safe and sound.
@nefertitiram so sorry about your experience but its good to hear that you and the babies are doing well now. My love to them.

Phema: I doubt you two are saying thesame thing oooo. She is inferring that people who already have appointments even later than Oct 1st will get the old price.

But you said that the old price ends on or before Oct 1st regardless of when the person booked. Meaning, if one is signing the contract later than Oct 1st, the person gets the reviewed price.

Please, which is it?
im sorry i did not read her post properly, i have taken it off. Thanks

dserious: Woow @ MIHS price review, not good at all embarassed

Oawele, et all, pls help!!!! i had booked an appointment for October 6th with MIHS financials, but i decided to travel earlier and would be there on Monday 22nd. Will i be allowed to pay the old price?
I am just thinking, try calling in to reschedule for an earlier date like 24th of Sept and see how it goes. if you succeed, ensure you are sent an email, that way you would have a better chance of paying the normal prize considering you are already on their system.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 7:20am On Sep 16, 2014
Flowers: This one is a typical case of the higher the demand the higher the price. Nigerians can over do things. If you know the number of women going to Mihs you go fear. Even the accommodation rate of the apartments will increase with time. People should try and make individual effort to search for a hospital.
Dont blame any body, the prize is the cheapest you can get any where in the states.... even cheaper that some hospitals in Nigeria. Mind you its not only Nigerians that patronises the Mat package.

Anyways when one door closes another door will open.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 5:20am On Sep 16, 2014
I went to MIHS and was able to meet with one of the business services manager. She said the maternity package is currently under review and during the review period which is supposed to be concluded by 1st of October, 2014 they will no longer be scheduling or issuing appointments to patients.

Those that already have appointment scheduled between now and 1st of Oct can still come in, they would be paying the normal cost. However, those with appointments scheduled for 1st of Oct onwards will be paying the reviewed prize irrespective of when you got your appointment.

Tried to find out what the review would look like but she didn’t have an idea, maybe se didnt want to say.

Well i dont think it is the same, date of review can be different from date of implementation. what i am sure about is that it wont affect those that have already signed the contract and paid because there is no line in the contract that says changes to the package can be made with or without notice.

lets just wait and confirm from them.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 1:19pm On Sep 14, 2014
Phema: And the dynamics keep changing. I might have to call them to confirm that. Hmmn. . .
|I will be at MIHS on monday, will also confirm and revert.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 1:09pm On Sep 14, 2014
Phema: I saw that too. I donot know what it means. Lemme not say what I think. grin
That line doesnt look good. this was what was on the previous agreement package

Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) is pleased to offer you the Maternity Package Plan Agreement. The Plan offers complete prenatal maternity care for one affordable price. The package prices include the physician fees and the hospital and clinic charges. You agree to deliver your baby at Maricopa Medical Center (MMC), sign this Agreement and provide payment in full within 90 days of contract signing or before discharge after delivery, whichever comes first. Should you desire to pay in full at the time of contract signing; the total package price will be reduced by 25%. Furthermore, following delivery at MMC, you will receive a refund for $250.00. This Plan is not limited to Maricopa County residents, and does not have any income requirements.

one needs to be careful.

bloggerina: Papa Ejima! How is madam and how are the twins doing? Warm regards to them

Thats what I can remember for now sha. please note that since you have twins, you will need to arrange all these per child so your cost should be about $500 to $550. remember to pay for expedited processing o. The whole thing should take you just one week or thereabout. You can check SW Global website and Nigeria Immigration Services website sha. If you read and follow the instructions you'll be fine. Most poeple sse agents only when they dont have internet access or they just dont want to bother applying themselves. Its pretty easy sha.

Cheers
Thanks Bloggerina

Do i need to send my application and required documents by post after applying online? meanwhile i have sent you a PM kindly accept.

Thanks

I would appreciate if someone who has applied and gotten the NIgerian visa by himself, advice on how to go about it by my self. The cost i got from an agent looks ridiculous.

Thanks in anticipation

titibaby: Oawele I'm not sure this is correct o. A fellow nairalander was in the situation described above and she wasn't charged for an emergency cs. Unfortunately her post about her experience was wiped out during the attack. However, I know about it because I was there in Phoenix at the same time. Except there has been a change in policy between then and now, you shouldn't be charged for emergency CS.
well..... that is what i deduced during my discussion with one of the doctors in MIHS. Anyways, lets all take note of this scenario and be guided.

Nita2013: Ayasho hi, if u go tru d maternity package online u ll see that planned CS has its different price. Unplanned CS has its own as well. VBAC is regarded as normal vaginal birth by MIHS

Like I stated b4, MIHS Exhausts all options b4 resultin to CS whether one has done CS b4 or not.
Well said @nita2013. In addition to what you have said, note that if you initially paid for planned CS and later agree to try normal delivery and then during the course of normal delivery there is a complication and they have to switch to CS you will be be billed as emergency CS and not planned CS.

gingerspice: @oawele congrats on your twins ooh! Pls how much did the total cost come to?
i went to the buisness services department yesterday and i was told my bill should be $3888 but let me see my zero balance before i can authoritatively say that is my bill.

Will update when i see it.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 1:07pm On Sep 10, 2014
For those of you coming to Pheonix to give birth, starting from January 1st, 2015 the vitals record office at 1818 W. Adams Phoenix, Az 85007 where you walk in and pick up child birth certificate will no longer provide walk-in customer service. For walk-in customer service you will need to visit other vital records office.

Hope this helps you plan accordingly.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 12:58pm On Sep 10, 2014
AyaSho: @Oawele, pls can u throw more lite on VBAC because there is nothing of such in the Maternity Package of MIHS.
Someone like me would want to give it a trial after 2 CS operation. And please is the bill different from planned CS operation.
Thanks
One love
VBAC is virgina birth after CS. Most hospitals and doctors eithier dont do it or charge more for it.

MIHS takes it as normal delivery and as such bill it under normal delivery package. However, note that it can have complications so you need to be sure the doctor delivering you is experienced with VBAC and is comfortable with it.

i hope this answers your question.

To God be the glory, my wife delivered our set of twin at MIHS last week. I was present throughout the whole birth process and i would say they were welcoming, nice and professional.

My wife had a VBAC which went very well and from my experience, the nurses were nice and wonderful, most expeccially the nurse that was in charge of my wife during labour.

In all i like their services and i wuld use them again if i had to........but in the mean time family planning mode activated wink

Thank you all ......

aykanbi: @nochid Thanks a lot. So if I fly at 36wks and I am able to get a doctor at 37 weeks then I'm still in the safe zone. Do you advise that I go ahead a d get a place to stay since I've made d decision to birth there. I'm flying early November tho, for anyone who's in the same ship? May I get suggestions on affordable extended stays with close proximity to the hospital. Thanks
With all the stress of travelling and complications that could come up, I think you should plan to leave earlier. Betterstill, consult with your doctor and work out when best you should travel. Also check with the airline you plan to travel with confirm if they would allow you travel at 36 weeks.

Good luck.
