The group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr Emmanuel Kachikwu has disclosed that oil theft would be completely eradicated in the next eight months. Speaking at a one day seminar on Security in the Gulf of Guinea organised by the Gusau Institute in Abuja, Dr Kachikwu said the NNPC under his leadership is introducing a whole lot of measures to check oil theft and to bring perpetrators to book. Some of these measures include the introduction of drones to monitor the pipelines as well as patrol the country’s coastal waters; equipping and increasing the capabilities of the security services to carry out their responsibilities as well as engagement of communities to police pipelines in their areas. As part of measures to ensure greater efficiency and transparency in the oil sector, the NNPC boss said the PPMC would be broken up into several companies with one solely in charge of pipelines while the other would be in charge of products

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, this morning, admitted the former National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Col. Sambo Dasuki, to bail on self recognizance. Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.): Former NSA Justice Ademola Adeniyi released Dasuki on bail after he pleaded not guilty to a one-count criminal charge that was preferred against him by the Federal Government. The charge bothered on his alleged illegal possession of firearms contrary to section 27(1) (a) of the Firearms Act, CAP F28, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. Meanwhile, the court has confiscated the travelling documents of Col. Dasuki. It ordered that any of the security agencies currently in possession of the international and diplomatic passports of the accused person, should forthwith surrender same to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court. Justice Adeniyi fixed October 26 and 27 for hearing on the substantive charge against Dasuki whi‎ch was signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, Mr. M.S. Diri

By law, Youth corpers are not allowed to travel out of the country in the period of their service. so the probability of getting a US visa is very very low.

You can drive overseas with the new driver's licence, because your DL number is in the FRSC database and can be easily confirmed by the law enforcement authorities in the US, if need be. However, you can only drive with it for no more than three (3) months. If you plan to drive longer than that in the US, you should apply for the International Driver's licence. It used to be in paper form, but it's now made in plastic. It costs N10,000, I think. I would advise that you use the new driver's licence instead tho', because rumor has it that the international driver's licence is not in the FRSC database. How true this is, I don't know. I will confirm this rumor to be sure sha.

The new drivers licence has not been updated in the US drivers licence database and as such you cannot drive or rent a car with it. The only acceptable one is the old licence this isnt expired.

also, be careful when getting the International drivers licence, i tried to get one some time ago and didnt notice that i was give an international drivers permit which cannot be used to rent a car in the US.

i am sure this will help someone
