Well, there is no harm in trying to call them and get an your appointment confirmation sorted and out of the way while you make other logistical plan you might need like where you SIL would like to stay, who will be helping her there when the baby comes....stuffs like that. All this plans will help in preparing for the visa application\interview.

zeezahbee: Hello, i have few questions. my sister in law been disturbing me to help with the MIHS stuff, although am in USA but i barely know anything about it.
1. How do we get the appointment confirmation, her EDD is feb 2015?
2. Is MIHS only located in phoenix?
3. after getting the appointment confirmation, what is the next step?
I will appreciate if i get a reply asap. Thanks
Let me try to help ....

1. To get the apointment you will need to call the women clinic department of MIHS and book an appointment. I don't have the number available with me but you can get it somewhere in this thread. Make your sister's full name, age, DOB and email address readily available as you could be asked for them.

2. Yes, MIHS is only available in phoenix.

3. The next step after getting the appointment confirmation is to plan accomodation in phoenix, travel visa to the US if she doesn't have already, travel tickets and stuff like that.....

It will help to go through MIHS website which contains the maternal contract document and the pages on this thread which contains people experiences and detailed plans of others that have gone through the birthing project.

Hope this info helps......

@babymama123

I have seen people visa cancelled for the the same reason, even a nairalander on this thread has had her visa cancelled. you are very lucky and favoured. All the best smiley
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 12:26pm On Aug 21, 2014
Babymama123: yes, ooh.
i did same sent mail to both embassies apologising for not telling them about the reason for my trip. i sent them a mail indicating the fulll details of my trip when i intend to leave the country and where i intend to put to bed, they both replied me that it is okay and that i have been pardoned and i should ensure i have enough money on me to cater for all my expenses. the last paragraph they said congrats to me and my family and wish me a safe delivery.
Yeah preferred abuja response too.
hello Babymama,

Really! did they say you have been pardoned?

uchetobi: Doesn't really matter. I sent to both lag and Abuja. Preferred Abuja's response and used that at Poe even though I got my visa in lagos
Oh Ok ! i see where you are coming from......Options right ?!
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 5:49am On Aug 18, 2014
@freshface you are making progress but correct me if I am wrong, you said you sent a mail to the two embassies meaning lagos and abuja US embassy. Note that you don't need to send an email to lagos and Abuja embassy but its already done, so for the sake of others readers in this forum, all you need to do is send an email to the embassy you had your interview. for appointment with MIHS, you will need to call the women clinic and politely ask for an appointment to be sent to your email address, but from people's experience with MIHS, I doubt if you would get a response from them. If you do that will be a welcome development.

The womens clinic phone number is somewhere in this thread.

Hello all,

Wifey houston POE experience...

Her experience was very smooth and straightforward.

First CBP - so why are you here?
Wifey - holidays, child birth and shopping
First CBP- are you a family?
Wifey -yes we are, my mother and daughter.
First CBP-how long are you here for?
Wifey-we will be here for 2 months.
First CBP - ok stand aside another officer, will interview you. (stamps daughter and MIL in for 6 months and take wifey to another office)
Second CBP - do you hav any correspondence with the hospital ?
Wifey- yes. ( shows mail correspondence and appointment)
Second CBP - have u made any payments?
Wifey - not yet, it is the hospital policy to pay in person. (points it out in the mail correspondence and shows MIHS maternity package).
Second CBP - how much do you have?
Wifey - I have 12,000 dollars with me
Second CBP - do you know that if you do not pay all your bills, this would be your last visit to the US.
Wifey - I am aware.

Gives wifey declaration form to fill since she was with more than 10K dollars and stamps her in for six months. Afterwhich she is sent to the officers that checks bags. Her bags weren't opened at all. All the food stuffs, indomie, garri, snail, crayfish were allowed in. All this lasted for about 30mins.

@mamaxxx

You can also contact @ tzetzefly on the US visit visa thread, he should also be able to advice appropriately.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 6:21am On Jul 17, 2014
mamaxxx: thanks for responding. i was turned back because i was told i didn't have enough cash on me, although i had $2,500 and had paid $1,500 to the doctors office. that was really the only reason i was given. What do i do now?
Point of entry was Houston; My total hospital bill was about $6,000 but i had my visa card on me. yes this is to be my first child in the USA. please advice at your earliest convenience.
Hello @mamamxxx

I'm not a guru at this but its seems to me that they were not convinced you had enough funds to foot the entire bill. Showing your bank statement isn't convincing enough because they don't seem to trust it. it is also believed that houston POE isn't a favourable one and the veterans in the thread had advised we travel with a little less than 10K dols.
I think there is no harm in reapplying but be ready to prove that you are liquid enough to fund the project comfortably, my guess is that they will be very particular about it.

I will also be going through Houston POE in a few weeks time and I am a bit worried. So In all, we all need God's favour, let's all seek His face. Good luck and keep us posted.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 9:22pm On Jul 12, 2014
Oh thanks a lot @timtim12, well understood.

I just hope for a smooth entry at houston smiley . Thanks again.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 5:07pm On Jul 12, 2014
timtim12: you can get the passport at the Western Passport Centre, Tucson. but you must shiw evudence of travel within 2 weeks or a need to get a visa for travel within 28 days.
otherwise, u apply for the passport through the postoffice and expedite. they say it wouod be withbyou in 3 weeka but most people get it in 2 weeks.
The naija visa guy- when u get here, his number is around. dont want any headbiting "advert" comment to come my way.
your birthcert would be ready in 3 days. so if you dont need a notary fron your significant other, you can head to the postoffice ( preferably downtown because you need to book an appointment to use Maryvale postoffice).
think i answered your questions on shopn in my previous post.
CS and post delivery help- no nannies. but the mums get close and just help the sisters in need. never seen people love and help absolute strangers so much.
note to the mums planning CS- bring your 1st scan showing your EDD. MIHS wont do optional CS or induce you till 39 or 40 weeks. so if they r not sure if ur edd, u go tey reach like 41 weeks unless u go into labour earlier.
@timtim12 Thanks for ur feedback, much appreciated.

Two questions pls
1. Apart from the 1st scan report you mentioned is there any other medical report or document one might need for MIHS.

2. I was not able to put togeher the process or ways of getting the US passport and visa, for my clarity sake, kindly advice on the quickest way of getting them. I will be in phoniex with my wife.

Thanks thanks

LeonessAug: Hi Jyde... Can you please refer to happytbaby's post. Many of us got our first appmt via that no. Once you are here, communication with them becomes steady.
@LeonessAug

what was your POE?
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by oawele: 11:10am On Jul 11, 2014
Jez!! Obviously this is a case of different strokes for different folks.

For me i appreciate people like @Abujamomma71 who come back to give testimony moreover, when she has EXPERIENCED both MIHS and Del sol, such information are very valuable to this thread. However, remembering that this is an open internet forum where people can hide behind their screen and say anything, the onion lies on each and every one of us to do our homework and make his or her own decision.

When i found this thread i read from page one to the end and putting all the information together, i found out that Del sol and MIHS are both good hospitals that provide good medical care but have areas that they are better than each other. Primarily Del sol are very available, communicate with you easily and promptly while MIHS is cheaper. So the every other person should be able to read through this thread and make his or her own decision.

Anyways i am MIHS bound end of the month with the dreaded Houston as my POE, i have tried to get myself and my wife ready for CBP but in the end i know i still need God`s grace. Abeg those that used Houston as POE for MIHS should help with list of documents and necessary things to be better prepared for the CBP at POP.

mamaxxx: Im not sure this is the right section to post this on but I'll try anyways..
I was issued a b1/b2 visa about 2 months before i conceived, after i found out i was pregnant i decided to utilize the same visa to give birth in the states.
Upon arrival at the airport inn the u.s i was questioned for hours and eventually found inadmissible and my visa was canceled immediately. I was found inadmissible for reason of lack of funds although i tried explaining to the officer that i had the funding i just didn't want to travel with plenty cash on me. I had my debit mastercard on me. I had also prepaid part of the doctors bill and secured an appointment.
its been one week since the incident happened and i am almost 8 months pregnant.i  intend on reapplying for emergency visa because i am determined to birth my child in the u.s as i can prove that i am capable of affording the hospital bill.
What do you all advice? I've got all possible supporting documents i feel they may require. How do i go about this?
Hello Mamaxx,

Sorry about this unfortunate incident.

Before applying again, you need to analysis why you were really sent back at the point of entry. Sending you back on premise that you do not have sufficient funds while you had some cash on you is quite strange. you might want to look back and see if there was any other reason/s that warranted considering you inadmissible.

What point of entry was this? if i may ask how much was your hospital bill and how much were you with? is this your first child in the US; if yes, did you fully pay your bills the last time?

3. they are both going on a vacation.
4. they have travelled to the states but that was a long time ago

kpineo:
access has an RSI of 50 using the nigeriansecurities.com tool, does that mean there is still room for growth?
not necessarily. RSI shows overbought and over sold situations when the index trend cross the upper or lower bounraries, which are usually 70 and 30.
