@fatherof2
which charts do you use to determine buy and sell points?
BusinessRe: Learn How To Analysis Nigerian Stocks by oawele(op): 10:37pm On Jan 06, 2008
now i am thinking of having somthing like topics we are going to be looking at.
1. basics of the stocks
2. fundamental analysis
3. technical analsis
4. try out some analsis for our selves.

i wish this thread can be as short as possible so that any boby can come here, have a good grip of stock analysis and more like graduate to Nigerian stocks market tips, where we have the worthy gurus like easimoni, fatherof2, windy, pumping etc.
By that one will not just be a silient reader but a contributors.

i think i understand chapter 1, the basics of stocks so i can handle that to the best of my ability and then we can go on from there.

N.B please let us help ourselves so that we too can be able to carry out good analysis.
what do we think?? smiley

@easimoni,
thanks for this thread. i was actually thinking of something like this thread before i started Learn How To Analysis Nigerian Stocks thread before i saw this.

i personally must confess that when i went through nigeria stock market tip thread, things were just jamming .
and the thread long oh!

any way i started a thread Learn How To Analysis Nigerian Stocks where we could just pick some good stocks and bad stock so to say and analysis them together. we must mustn`t buy the stocks but learn with it.

what do you think??!??
BusinessRe: Learn How To Analysis Nigerian Stocks by oawele(op): 10:23pm On Jan 05, 2008
@walcolm and ciaman
thanks for your post.
i know we have stock market tips for nigeria, but i want some thing that can be a laerning process.
more like analysis some stocks together using fudamental and technical analysis and learn from there.
we mustn`t buy the stocks in reality but we can analsis it and watch how the stocks go.

correct me if i am wrong but many of the people at stock market tips for nigeria are very knowlegdable compared to the rest of us that just watch our screen and wish we could ``add value`` to the thread.
i wish we could just make this thread a place just to learn and stock market tips for nigeria a place we can bring to bear what we have learnt.

Afrinvest comes highly recommended. Though their minimum is 500k. You might want to talk to them and see what happens with your 100K

@talktrue
justr thought i should update you.
i called up afrivest today, spoke with one of their staffs and he said he will find out if he can get a wavier for me.
he even said he might be a coming around my axis and will check me up at my office.
well if nothing comes up i`ll look up other options like cowry asset.
thanks for your help.

@oawele

Please do not touch Amyn with a 20 foot pole. Their customer service is nothing to write home about. I confronted them as to why they have not fulfilled my order after about two weeks, they told me the MD is out of town, "she is the one who goes to the floor" was what they told me. I can tell you more horror stories about them but I will leave the issue alone. I am not bad mouthing them, I am just telling you my experience. It even makes me wonder that maybe because they collect such a small amount of money to start with, they are over worked. Please stay away from them. I am writing from experience
@moneypalav
i did not want to mention the name of my current stockbroker (Amyn investments) but i have to because i am totally disappointed in them. if i want any thing done i have to go there personally and that is not a confirmation that it will be done promptly. i am not even intending to transfer my current stocks with them cause i know they will give me enough hassles so i will just sell them gradually.
but let me not fail to mention that i have great respect for the MD (Hawa Audu). but i have to leave them. angry

Hope this clears it for you, you can send your mandate Via mail (preferred by me, you have evidence) or by phone (depending on your relationship with your acct officer), but I suggest you stick to mail.

Tayo 08035200503 (she works at the PH office though)
thanks this clears it up.
i will give them a call and hopefully i should work out something with them.
thanks again

i really hope that it doesn`t take afrinvest much time to attend to a mail (mandate) cause i have sent a mail to my present stock broker to sell my cadbury for the past one month and it hasn`t been done. i don`t thing they look at their mail box huh

let me try to help easimoni here.

i manually input the stock prices for the selected days into my excel file and excel draws up the chart.
i don`t do this for all companies but instead i do for five or six companies with good fundamentals and watch them.

you can use this excel file, it calculates the RSI for you when you input necessary data.

i stand to be corrected.
this is the excel file

i need a good stock broking firm that has a good customer services, one that i just need to make a phone call or do a mail and my mandates will be carried out for me. i currently plan on starting with about 100k and gradually sell my stocks which is valued at approximately 500k and buy with the new brokers to avoid the hussles my current broker might want to give me.
if any one knows one, please let me know and also a contact person i can call up to discuss with?

mean while, i came across this site that educates one on stock analysis. it doesn`t look bad. check it out.

whoa,

but i most confess this forum is one of the best i have come across.
i have gone through the thread and i am impressed with the quality of people in here.
you are GOOD people.

i`m going to read the tread again and do some reading and then i will be start adding meaningfully.
but till then i`ll be on the outside.

if there is any material that any one thinks will help me in my studies i wouldn't`t mind.

but permit me to say this again you are all GOOD people.
