Negativity does not take the country anywhere! It is killing you and killing all who think the same way, unless you are just saying it and it is not from your mind. The minister is taking a good step to ensure government macro economics policies translate into positive result to the common man on the street which is a positive step. If you have nothing to say positive on it, it is better to keep quiet, not shutting everything down. This country is ours, if we kill it, we are the ones who will bear the grunt. There are a lot of opportunities in the country even now, if you are always negative, you will not see it and will keep complaining while others are growing and making money. The choice is yours - life or death, choose the one you like. Half word is enough for the wise! |
The only biblical reference in the new testament that easily comes to mind on restitution is the Zacchaeus story in Luke 19 where Zacchaeus after meeting and accepting Jesus offered to give half of his possession to the poor and to pay back four fold to anyone he had cheated (and Ex 22 in the old testament). If you read vs 7 (the verse below the verse on restitution), you will noticed it was in response to the people accusing Jesus of associating with him in view of that fact tax collectors (who he was one) were known then for cheating the people/govt by either inflating the tax amount and or not declaring the actual amount of tax collected. So, the tax collectors were seen to be corrupt and hence not well accepted in the society. So, in my own opinion, the purpose of this was for him to assuage the anger/feelings of the people and to kind of make his repentance acceptable to the general people (not necessarily the body of Christ) by repaying the people of the outside world (who were affected by his action and would likely feel cheated). You would noticed he offered to pay 4 times and not one for one. Also, he offered 50% of his wealth and this was not at Jesus' or his disciples' request. Hence, (in my opinion), where people who have been affected by one's actions and are non believers (believers are supposed to forgive and know that the person is a new creation), especially if one is a public figure, it is proper for one to restitute as this will not only assuage the feelings of people (non believers) who might feel cheated but also give positive image of the body of Christ to non believers. However, I do not think it should be forced by the church though a genuine repentance should ordinarily push you to do this where this can be restituted. To close this, my own experience. When I experienced the holy spirit powerfully, it reminded and convicted me of the sins I had committed. I restituted those I could - reached to my old girlfriend and apologized (fortunately she needed large some of money to do something which I could afford and so gave her). One stapler that I took from the office, I returned it back and some other restitutions. Most importantly I apologized to God and asked for forgiveness. However, all these were between me and God. Nobody in the church I was attending then (including the pastor) knew I carried out restitution. |
414 roads with a total length of 800km, average of 2km length. this is propaganda. We just learnt that Alaoji Power plant has been shutdown since 2023 and just back on stream but we have been hearing that was 24hrs power in Aba. |

You are not divorced, your wife just packed out of your house to meet her parents. What you have is a quarrel which is very common at your stage of marriage and even at older marriages. It is good occasionally to have some space, it helps to appreciate what you are gaining from each other. I'm sure both of you are experiencing it now. From your story, you have been married for just 7 years and you have 3 children, you are both under pressure managing the kids, works and finance especially in this economy. Before your wife packed out, you were no longer communicating. Majority of what she said to you were emotional driven and not necessarily rational. With patience, some leve.l of maturity from both of you, you would endure/manage this phase and thereafter enjoy your marriage. DM me personally and let's talk. Many people result to divorce at every little opportunity but this is wrong. Just like you have been thinking, you are unnecessarily exposing the lives of your innocent children by considering divorce. For now, you can leave her for a week or 2 and thereafter call her. Maturity is dropping your pride to make things work. |

I was at V/I Lagos shoprite (the one before the first toll gate) yesterday and I was given a small disc at the entrance to the car park which I was told I would use to pay for parking fee. I was told I have to pay if I stay longer than 30mins. I personally see this as unnecessary exploitation especially at this period when every average Nigerian is groaning over all a lot of burdens (bank charges, high forex, etc) already. It is wrong to expect customers to pay for parking. In all the places I know that parking fee is charge in a shopping mall, this is done to discourage people from leaving their cars parked for long and hence deny other users, hence they are usually charged when they stay long - like 2 or 3hours. 30mins is just too short - even getting a place to park takes about 10mins and paying takes another 10mins, walking down and security check will take another 5mins. I guess we should resist this If at all they need money to maintain the place, this should be passed on to the shops though this might still be passed to the customers but it will save a lot of time being spent currently to pay and the unnecessary queue when leaving the place due to check for the receipt. |
Just bought at normal price of N86/litre at Lekki. Essentially no queue - took me about 3-5 minutes. |
A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. No excuse for prayerlessness - see verse 14 below, they were all there prayering.: Acts 1:12-16King James Version (KJV) 12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey. 13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. |
Ajumobi has done a lot during his 4 years. He has constructed more roads than any civilian governor in the history of Oyo state. He has tried to introduce discipline in the state by clearing various under the bridge. He has bus for student - free as long as you are in uniform. Free bus for public servants. Public transportation at avoidable price. What do you people want? Lawlessness, bag of rice politics? Truly he is owning a lot of public servants and he apologised and explained to them the cause of this - PDP government at the centre deliberately starved non PDP states to paint them bad. We should not be selfish and close our eyes to all the good things he has done. The man is leading us somewhere. People who knew this and are objective enough voted for him. |
That Obama took pain to address Nigerians directly shows the importance of this election to him. An average black feels pain when anything black is not doing well. It does not matter ones position or whether one is doing well or not. Intrinsically, most of us that deep feeling in us to see black doing well. This is the pain Obama is going through and this is why he has to address Nigerians directly. Remember he has come to Africa twice and both occasions he did not visit Nigeria simply because we did not impress him enough to attract a visit. As he said, we truly have a chance to make a change. Let us not miss this opportunity. Let's vote rightly without prejudice, let's vote based on issue, let's vote to move the country forward. |
