OGINIBO WAS AGOG AS THE COMRADE REUBEN IZEZE NETWORK FOR GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT EMPOWERS 50 WOMEN, 5 BOYS IN A MINI-MICRO CREDIT PROGRAMME Barely 48hours after the Delta Central Senatorial Election which saw the PDP candidate, Chief Aguariavwodo Emmanuel Edesiri emerged winner and while the songs of victory last in the mouth of the OGINIBO people, their amiable son, Comrade Reuben Izeze through his over six years old FOUNDATION-the CRINGDEV, on Monday the 14th October, 2013 made true his promise of continuing his mini micro-credit empowerment Programme by granting 50 women and 5 boys with cash empowerment which could have significant impact on the economic survival of their petty trades. The Comrade Reuben's mini micro-credit programme which is in line with the Delta state Governor's Micro-Credit Programme started exactly on 26th December, 2006 when some 30 women who were petty traders including widows first benefited from the Programme during the OGINIBO ANNUAL CONFERENCE night. Since that night, the mini -credit Programme under the Comrade Reuben Izeze Network for Grassroots Development(CRINGDEV) has empowered over 220 petty traders. For the interest of those who do not know or know little about this Network, the Comrade Reuben Izeze Network for Grassroots Development is a grassroots development oriented Programme which pressures for putting the needs of the common man which is primarily represented in Government first and above every other interest. As a grassroots driven foundation, the body drives its objectives through three operative Programmes as follows: (a) HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME- under this organ, CRINGDEV attempts to answer to the educational needs of the grassroots as much as it can. This it does by assisting the pupils in public primary schools by provision of school sandals, books and other educational materials. Through this pillar, the network also ensures that our SSC Holders gain admission into the Higher Institutions of learning and ultimately assist the graduates in securing pensionable jobs. It is noteworthy that the Network has done so much in this area. (b) SKILL ACQUISITION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME- this Programme of the Network sees to the training of young ladies who did not have the opportunity to be formally trained in schools, in fields like tailoring and hair-styling among others. Also, the male counterparts are trained in Carpentry, Scaffolding, Welding and fabrication, barbing, General Aluminum work, as well as Plumbing and electricians among others. This Programme has made provision of some sewing machines, hair dryers and barbing Clippers for those trained in the relevant vocation. So far, 6 Welders have been trained under this Programme. (c) MINI MICRO-CREDIT PROGRAMME-this Programme sees to the provision of basic micro financing of petty traders, provision of take off funding of mini trading outlets for the young ones who wish to start business like Boutiques, setting up of barbing shops, hairdressing salons etc. Much has also been achieved under this Programme. It was through this Programme that over 15 Okadas(Motorcycles) were bought for youths before the introduction of Tricycles in the state and over 5 Keke Napep has been bought and distributed since its introduction into the state Transport sector. A beneficiary at the occasion, Mrs Onajomo Lucky Mojirhaye was full of praises for Comrade Reuben Izeze and described him as a young politician who have distinguished himself as a 'promise and fulfill' leader. She added that before the arrival of Izeze into the Community Pilitical Arena, it has always been the normal style of "Monkey dey work, Baboon dey chop" politics. She however said that the Comrade has changed the style to "Monkey dey work, Monkey dey chop" politics. The FACILITATOR of CRINGDEV, Comrade Reuben Izeze was accompanied to the ceremony by the SSA to the Delta State Governor on Youth Affairs, Mr Simon Umudi. In his response to the crowd of former and awaiting beneficiaries, the Comrade reaffirmed his dream of putting his people first before any personal interest. He said that by the grace of God, the next series of the Mini Micro-Credit Programme would take place during this year's ANNUAL OGINIBO CONFERENCE in December. Those young boys who are ready to learn skills like Welding, general aluminum work and other vocations should please register with the Oginibo Unit of the CRINGDEV, he added. The President General of OGINIBO Community, Mr Israel Opheghe on behalf of the community thanked Comrade Reuben Izeze for always ensuring that the community gets the dividends of democracy. He said “ Nobody would be unnecessarily criticizing the government of the day If all appointees and elected public office holders in the state can emulate Comrade Reuben Izeze by representing the people at the core grassroots rather than self"

Comrade Rueben Rume Izeze Empowers 50 Women in Oginibo Town in Ughelli South LGA The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan on Protocols, Comrade Rueben Rume Izeze has empowered over 50 Women in Oginibo Town in Ughelli South LGA in continuation of His Micro-Credit Empowerment Grant Scheme, for passing vote of confidence on him and to say thank you to Oginibo town for voting 100% for PDP in the just concluded Delta Central Senatorial bye-election on Saturday 12/10/2013. One thing that has endeared the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to the people is his Micro Credit Programme which has touched many lives, and won him many laurels. Women empowerment has been described as the fastest and most result oriented approach to economic development, given the important role in advancing the socio-economic segments of any society. Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Protocol, Comrade Rueben Rume Izeze made the statement at Oginibo Town where he empowered 50 women in Ughelli South Local Government Area. He said his resolve to embark on the scheme stemmed from the need to ensure maximum effect of such schemes through the instrumentality of women who are considered the socio-economic backbone in any society. Comrade Rueben Izeze also said that the idea is not a display of opulence but to bring about meaningful development based on the timeless analogy that "when you empower an industrious woman, you empower a nation". Mrs Onoajomo Lucky Mojirhaye who is one of the beneficiaries of the Micro-Credit Grant thanked God Almighty for using Comrade Izeze to boost their market/business and also for turning the system from ‘Monkey dey work & Baboon dey chop’ to ‘Monkey work & Monkey dey chop’ with tears of joy. The SSA reaffirmed his commitment to the economic emancipation of not only women but the entire polity considering the fact that an economically dormant society is a potential danger capable of engendering unmitigated disaster in any given society. According to him, the women Micro-Credit empowerment grant scheme will continue because this is not the first time and will surely not be the last, thereby accentuating the human development perspective of the Governor Emanuel Uduaghan’s three point agenda. SA to Governor on Youth Affairs, Mr Simon Umudi who accompany Comrade Izeze to the event charged the women to use the Micro-Credit grant judiciously. The President General of the town, Mr Israel Opheghe on behalf of the town gave thanks to Comrade Rueben Izeze for always ensuring that they get the dividends of democracy in the town. He said “ Nobody will criticize the government of the day If all appointees in the state can emulate Comrade Rueben Izeze” Comrade Izeze thanked the town generally for the confidence they have on him and for recieving the Micro-Credit Grant from him. He also promised not to let the town down

Whether or not we like it, leaders are born, not made. Although our culture would like to believe that there is a kernel of leadership in everyone, I’m just not convinced. In preparation for the up coming Delta Central senatorial bye-election Comrade Rueben Izeze & other top community leaders hold a town hall meeeting with the people of Oginibo town where he(Comrade Izeze) hails from. The community dwellers were all happy with developmental strive in the town such as : street lights, pipe bole water, township road, extension of electricity, fencing of the secondary school etc. Courtesy Governor Uduaghan lead administration and they all unanimously agreed in one voice to massively vote 100% for HON EMMANUEL EDESIRI AGUARIAVWODO (PDP) for the Delta-Central Senatorial Bye-election coming up 12th Oct. People become leaders when they step forward and when they are accepted as leader by their followers and Comrade Rueben Izeze is that type of a leader who has proven to his people that he is a leader. Comrade Izeze is an effective political leader who have a leadership style that focuses on coalition and building his community with inspiration & motivation. While negotiation and even coercion are sometimes necessary, a good political leader will always try to use persuasion first. Oginibo is for PDP, PDP report are everywhere in the town. |
The governor is on his best for Deltans. |
Good to know this facts. |
He should stand to defend the truth & nothing but the truth. |
Uduaghan Bags Zik Leadership Award Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has called on government at all levels in the country to depend less on oil revenue and harness their vast resources to develop their economies to ensure speedy development of the country. Governor Uduaghan who made the call at the weekend after he was conferred with the 2012 Zik Prize for Leadership Award organized by the Public Policy Research and Analysis Centre (PPRAC) in Lagos said “Nigeria can be bouyant without the sole depenent on oil revenue as all states have vast mineral and other resources which they can develop and generate revenue from.” According to him “when the late sage, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe and his ilks were managing the affairs of the country, there was no oil revenue, yet the country was bouyant. Governments at all levels should look beyond oil revenue and develop their economies to ensure speedy development of the country. This is what we are doing presently in Delta State with the “Delta Beyond Oil” vision. We are harnessing our various revenue sources so that we will become less dependent on oil revenue”. Receiving the award from the former Head of State, Chief Ernest Shonekan and Business Magnet; Ide Ahaba, Chief Sonny Odogwu, Governor Uduaghan who was accompanied to the occasion by his wife; Rolli, top Government Officials and friends said that the award will encourage him further in “building a state that will not be dependent solely on revenue from oil.” He used the occasion to call for a more united Nigeria, reiterating, “we need a strong Nigeria, a united Nigeria and a peaceful Nigeria.” Others who receiving awards at the ceremony include Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal; Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso; Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; Managing Director, Fidelity Bank, Reginald Ihejiahi; Minister of Works and Housing, Ama Pepple; and former Managing Director Nigerian Breweries, Eze Festus Odimegwu. Earlier in his speech, Chief Sonnu Odogwu who was the chairman of the occasion said the award ceremony was inspiring and befitting because the late Zik is one of the greatest leaders Africa has ever produced and commended the organizers of the event for selecting people who have made contributions towards the development of the society for the award.
