THE DAY I SAW AN UNJUST JUDGE

By Stanley Ajileye

Monday, June 6, 2016, I at once wished I am an English Teacher. I would have tasked my students, the next day to write an essay on topic: 'The Day I Saw an Unjust Judge'. Trust me, I already have in my hand, a scanty, disjointed, untyped and ill-arranged judgement paper that would be my ideal marking guide.

Honestly, I had always thought the work of a judge is a cerebral thing. But I now know better, that even I can be a judge too. Even if my brain is porous, even if I am idiotic. I don't even need to go to school. I don't need to know how to write, someone can always write my judgement for me and bring it to me at the gate of the court on judgement day. I only have to know how to read a little. Fluency is not important, after all I don't have to be coherent or read aloud.
I can now be a judge, because I have no more need to read the law books, law reports, journals and reference book to determine a case. Yes, after all merit is no more a necessity in judgement. I can always sleep off when lawyers are defending their cases. Yes, I don't need their submissions. I already know where I am going.
The happiest thing now is that, I don't even need a conscience to be a judge. Even when my conscience begin to prick me and make me shiver, I can always lie to the public that I have fever or better still 'lakuregbe'.

I can now be a judge, All I need is a goggle that can cover my eyelids and make me shameless. I also need to be conversant with figure to be able to determine the highest bidder.

It is easy to be judge, I have no need to fear God, neither have I need to regard men. My job is to do the bidding of the wife of Oga at the top.

The bible says in Luke 18:1-2 '

Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

18:2 Saying, There was in a city (Abuja) a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

Pls tell me the name of the Judge.
Politics / Re: Tribunal Upholds Yahaya Bello's Election by obge: 7:41pm On Jun 07, 2016
They know this judgement will not survive the supreme court because it will amount to overruling the constitution and reversing many supreme court and appeal court judgements. So I agree with those who hold that APC will use all its powers to ensure that this case does not reach supreme court
Politics / Re: Tribunal Upholds Yahaya Bello's Election by obge: 7:25pm On Jun 07, 2016
All inconsistencies will be harmonized at the apex court
- yesterday Faleke lacked locus standi for withdrawing from the election.
- today Faleke na deputy to YAHAYA because he did not withdraw properly.

The same judge fa . The same case fa.

Politics / Re: Kogi Tribunal: Anything Can Happen by obge: 4:55pm On May 26, 2016
this case can make or mar democracy in this country. Imagine a scenario where a party fields a popular candidate just to win an election and just before the results are announced, the candidate is taken out so that the party can install a puppet candidate becoming the norm in Nigeria. If the tribunal rules for bello that is exactly what will start happening. there will also be no need for by elections in the case of death of a person holding an elective position e.g senator etc, the party can just choose anybody to replace the person.
Also it will also mean that anybody can contest election anywhere. So basically Governor of Katsina can be from Bayelsa etc because it will abolish the voters card requirement for election. so a rich godfather somewhere in Abuja can annoint 36 of his boys to contest for governor round the country regardless of wheteher they are registered voters or not.
another implication of a judgement for bello is that it can abolish the requirement to go into election with a deputy. As long as a candidate has the cooperation of INEC, he can run for election without a deputy and even govern without a deputy.
simply put- a judgement for bello is an invitation for anarchy not just in Kogi but in the whole of Nigeria. I pray the supreme court sorts this matter out ( i seriously doubt that the tribunal judge will have the guts to give a judgement that will go against bello because that will mean going against the power that be). lastly a judgement in bello will mean 8 more years of the cultism, impunity , insecurity and harassment that are fast becoming hallmarks of his administration.

The resumption was cut short by a batch of policemen who arrested some members. This is in spite of the fact thatvthey were served the judgement of the federal high court that reinstated speaker jimoh. They are obviously working under bello orders. Impunity in kogi is too much. No rule of law again. How can 5 be greater than 15?

Governor Bello is not going to steal from kogi. This is a young man that declared 64 billion as assets to code of conduct. He is one of the most successful Nigeria civil servant. He made his billions before he turned 40. He is the owner of one of the most famous transport service in Nigeria - fairplus transport. So you can now see that 50 billion or whatever is chicken change to him

"New wife"?? As educated as tambuwal is he's still involve in polygamous marriage, this is why nigeria don't move forward because ur leader don't set gud xample, that's why donald trump of the U.S said dat nigerians re dier own problm and if elected he wil send dem all back home

Don't mind him. A man whose family was for a long time a model of what every politicians family should be- humble, modest out of the limelight. I have come across his children from afar when he was number 4 citizen, very modest devoid of the arrogance that is characteristic of children of similar background. He decides to throw all of that out by marrying this overused blakky who refuses to get off social media. Everything she does now is on social media. She even has official Facebook page of second wife of governor tambuwal. Imagine that - with our resources! APC told us they will do away with office of first lady. Now we have office of second lady as well.

Somebody should tell this new wife to take a chill pill! This is a man who succeeded in keeping his family out of the limelight inspite of his status. He marries a RUNS chick and bingo everything about his life is on social media. New wife, we know you are still shocked about your new position. Take it easy, you will get used to it. The man had a wonderful more beautiful wife before you. I am sure she has visited the ancestral home manytimes, without putting it on social media. Save us the eyesore of a runs girl spending our resources or we will spill all the beans about your sick life on social media let us see whether tambuwal will be able to hold his head up beside you.

He is not insane and he did not lose the election. It is easy for people outside kogi to comment based on ignorance.nthe truth is the truth, the man won but he was rigged out. Look at how many lives were lost in rivers and bayelksa to overcome APC rigging machinery. For wada, elections were not worth killing anybody for. If he had decided to oppose the APC riggibg machine fire for fire, lives would have gone in kogi. It is to his credit that ZERO LIVES were lost during the elections. That is something worth celebrating

I won't allign myself with wada's position that that a dead man's vote cannot be given to another person.has he forgotten the principle that says d electorate votes for d party and not d individual candidate.A good example is amaechi vs omehia.wada's position would have succeeded if there was provision for independent candidate in our laws .so I submit that by a vote for late audu is a vote for APC irrespective of whether APC's nominated candidate participated in d election from d onset or not
That law you quoted was referred to as the amaechi mischief and has been overruled by a supreme court judgement. Reason why when somebody diesafter being sworn in. The party does not just replace the candidate, a new election is ordered. Same reason also why saraki for instance cannot be sacked by APC and his votes given to another person. The votes don't belong to the party. They belong more to the person than the party. That is why governors and tambuwal could decamp without losing their position. If votes belong to the party, they would have been stripped of their position.
