I have both ogiri and ogiri okpei. The ogiri is in small plastic containers and I put them into a clear ziplock bag and labelled. The okpei (ground) is in double ziplock bag to reduce the smell and also labelled.
Ok, thank you.Apart Locust beans, what botanical name did u tag on it?

Ensure everything is in a clear bag or container and labeled (including ogili). I actually travelled from New Zealand to Australia with the foodstuff my mum brought for me (Ogili, uziza, okporoko etc), I declared and when I got to the Airport in Melbourne, I showed them my card, they asked , what I had, I told them foodstuff and they let me go without checking my bag. You may not be so lucky but just make sure you declare all you have.
Hummm interesting! Pls how did u package ur Ogiri? Was it dried ogiri or fresh ogiri? Am seriously thinking of bringing the stuff to Aussie even if na small ogiri.

It is not difficult to get a doctor's prescription from Nigerian hospital. You should get one. Malaria is treated like a terminal illness here, if they know you are moving with malaria medication, you may be quarantined.

Why not use the drugs in Nigeria close to coming and flush all the malaria parasites in your system than carrying malaria drugs around. There is no Anopheles mosquito in Australia.
Thank you.

My E-family, is it adviseable to come to australia with over the counter malaria drugs for me and my kids without doctor's prescription? Thank you.

Me too, I'm left handed but I eat and write with my right hand. As a child I used to do practically everything with left except writing but because of yabbing, I started correcting myself. So I use both now.

Seat selection is usually free 24 hours before the flight, it's best to wait till online check-in opens then select your seats. Alternatively, you can check-in very early at the airport on the day of travel, they usually seat families together.
Thank u, i will rather wait.

When you buy your ticket, depending on the airline, you may be able to choose your seat 72hrs before departure. Some airlines will want you to pay for your preference while others give it free.

Whatever the case, I know that they do put children together with their parents if done by them
Thanks bellong, we have already gotten our ticket through IOM (Emirates). But we are not told on how to book for seat.

Maggi is allowed to come in.Blend the egusi and co but there’s no need to blend the dry fish.Just make sure they are well dried and then frozen.
As a complete wellness check smiley, hit the fish gently on a hard surface so all insects can fall out.
Ok....Thanks for the info.
TravelRe: Living In Australia/life As An Australian Immigrant by obi24(f): 12:11pm On May 11, 2018

I would strongly suggest that you bring as much food items as you can from Nigeria.Especially items like dried fish, egusi, ogbono, seasonings ,spices etc.Just make sure they are properly labeled(in transparent zip lock bags preferably)and without any pests.Dont worry about Garri, poundo yam, semo etc. They are available here though slightly expensive but affordable.

Potatoes are cheap, plantains are available but very expensive(if you ask me).I fry lady finger bananas instead and it”s just fine. There”s frozen plantain too but I have never bought it.

Yams are seasonal. It comes around once a year and this is the season.I have paid for 80kg worth which I intend to freeze and hopefully use until next year. The last time I had yams was like Aug last year so I’m not making that mistake again and buying in bulk this time.

Someone told me where to get frozen yams too but I have never tried to.

Tanks @Tyosho.Must we grind the food stuff like stockfish, crayfish, Egusi and Ogbono or should i just package it wella on a zip lock bag without grinding them. Also are packets of maggi allowed to come in?
