coretechng1: How many do u want?Just one but I hope it will last. |
I'm interested but I stay in Abj |
![]() Looks like Wenger likes to sign players privately. Maybe he will sign Di Maria ![]() |
O boy! U need to repent and go for serious deliverance. You have sold your destiny to those girls. This is one of the reasons to avoid pre-marital sex. |
Evergreen123: my dear, doctors are the ones that do in vitro jobs in Nigeria, u ppl could have been helping out in the research but u chose to fight for cmd things and so, thereby reducing ur advancement in these tnz.Are you sure? We are talking about in-vitro diagnostics not in-vitro fertilization or in-vivo diagnostics. Formalin is an ivd and is used for fixation. Other ivds include HbsAg test kit, PT kit, mp kit, etc Just trying to make a correction. |
Evergreen123: What's the full meaning of ivdsIVDs is acronym for in-vitro diagnostics |
emmalexabl: My friend.,i think its high time you stopped talking because you arent making sense any longer.I expected you to address the issue at hand. Doctors are afraid that if we begin to train consultants in other fields, there would be real competition and we could expose their inadequacies. We are not asking to be Consultant Surgeons or Gynaecologists. We want to have Consultant Haematologists, Physiotherapists and so on but they don't want and instead of focusing on doing their jobs, they want to trample on other professionals' scheme of service thus violating the constitution. We respect them a lot but they should also respect themselves and stop asking for what they cannot have. |
Doctors are sick, selfish and wicked. Know more about their demands here... ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/1794142/nma-egocentric-demands-height-gross#24380430 |
Demdem:Sir, I would like to refer you to this thread. I just saw it on this forum. https://www.nairaland.com/1794142/nma-egocentric-demands-height-gross#24380430 Of relevance is number 4 which talks about the consultancy issue. |
Evergreen123: who performs ivf in Nigeria?IVF is different from IVD. IVF is in-vitro fertilization i.e. fertilization of the female egg outside the female's body (in layman's terms) while IVDs are reagents and other things used in lab. diagnosis. |
Frontpage material. Let the whole world know that these doctors are selfish. The FG should not concede to their demands and the Minister of Health should be fired. |

I knew it would end this way. Oya Keshi on to your SA coaching job. |

Finally! |
Demdem:Sorry, I'm not so conversant with what happens in developed countries. I need to do more research. What I know is that over there, the profession is well advanced beyond ours and that's what the JOHESU is fighting for. |
Demdem: Am not a medical professional and at the same time not a novice. Of cos I know who consultants are and I know fully well what they are subjected to to achieved such.At present, medical doctors dont earn two doctorate degrees even after they go for PG studies. Other medical professionals graduate with Bachelors in their respective fields and go on to do PG before getting their Doctorate. We all know that consultancy is optional but important and the MLSCN is introducing the 6-year DMLS programme in universities. Pharmacists have Pharm. D. The preparations for consultancy are on-going and it would be good if the FG signs the agreement. It would be a continuous process and help to encourage those from other medical professions. Already, the AMLSN has men who are consultants in their own right just that they are not officially regarded as such e.g. Prof. Agbonlahor, Dr O. G. Avwioro, Prof A.A. Ngokere, etc. You know what? The medical doctors have consultants in some specialties of MLS and I think, Pharmacy. Go to any tertiary health centre and you'll see that they have a Consultant Haematologist or Consultant Pathologist. They are afraid that if these guys who actually own the profession become consultants, there will be real competition. Meanwhile, the medical doctors have other areas and we dare not compete in those areas because we aren't specialists in those areas e.g. O & G, Paediatrics, ENT, etc. So why not leave the little we have and allow us to do well in ours. After all, we aren't stopping them from being consultants in our fields. |
Demdem:Sorry sir but please permit me to ask. Are you a medical professional? Do you know who a consultant is? Consultancy in other medical fields will bring real competition and the doctors are afraid of that. If they aren't let them allow it and let's see the outcome. |
Demdem:We know they are number one and we respect them for their profession because we are close to them but it isn't fair if they use their position to usurp the rights and privileges of others. How would they react if the FG does same to them. If you are in the medical profession you would know that they really need these other professionals. |
Nigeria will not reach the final. Even if we win France, Germany will clear us out. |
seunfly: What is the problem of this doctors? They don't want other medical practisioners to do their job. They fight over the grade level of pharmacist, they fight over the wages and power of nurses, they fight to head medical lab in their laboratries and now they fight over d importation of medical lab equipments. Typical nigerian mentality of dominate all and achieve nothing.Don't mind them. They are afraid. They know that they are nothing without the other professionals. |
Chikebrain: Thanks for sending in your comments. We currently don't have 250Mb on Glo network but it's available on MTN .Ok, thanks. Just that I prefer glo for now. |
What is NMA's business with IVDs? Are they the Medical Laboratory Scientists that use them? They should focus on their profession and stop claiming what they are not. |
Demdem: Don't get it. What's cbn business in this brouhaha?Importation has to do with foreign exchange and that's where CBN comes in. |
The question is why are doctors so scared of allowing other professions to be involved in patient care in Nigeria? The major reason is so as not expose their incompetencies. When all they do is trial by error in diagnoses and drug prescription. My mum died of heart complication because one "Consultant" in the hospital didn't know that TCA's are contraindicated in people with certain heart disease. A lot of people die prematurely or stay longer on admission from complications of drugs or not giving the right patient the right drug. Furthermore, because they are always doing trial by error they constantly change medications for patients which causes unnecessary wastage and make Nigerians who are already hard pressed financially to spend more. Fact is, studies have been conducted in other countries by their insurance companies concerning these issues and they fought for multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Apart from this, doctors had to comply because of fear of litigation where patients know their rights and sue them for high settlements for any mistake they make. In this situation doctors would do anything that would help minimize errors. They feed the uninformed public with false information to garner support trying hard to preserve their "almighty" doctor image. The truth is that change is difficult to make, but you cannot stop it. Before Columbus, it was thought that the Earth was flat, and scientists who proposed that it was spherical were scorned; the same goes for the current gay rights that is gaining popular support these days. Finally, so long as Nigeria belong to the comity of nations doctors and decision makers can only stall, but definitely this is what they would have to accept sooner or later. NB: I know of people who were withdrawn from a Pharmacy School and went on to become doctors elsewhere, so there is no big deal! Come down from your high horses for the general good of the patients who your swore to take care of.
1000000000 likes Even the doctors know that diagnosis and treatment are mere guess work without the other professionals. They don't want to expose themselves. If they aren't afraid, let them allow the FG sign the agreement. |
Is glo 250 mb available? |
Gentlemimi2: @ Topic, this is really a sad state of affairs. It has gotten down to this and it is saddening. My Dear, it's really pathetic. The disparity between the salaries of doctors and other health professionals is way too much. We are not asking to be placed on the same salary scale. We want to be treated fairly. |
FG needs to sign that agreement. The doctors are claiming what they are not. And for those who don't know, Lab Technologists are different from Lab Scientists. Do your research well. |
Mexico played well but Miguel Herrera made a mistake by substituting Dos Santos after he scored. Maybe he thought he could defend a one-goal lead for 30 minutes. But trust Van Gaal. He changed his formation and drafted Robben to his natural position on the wing. Depay came on and played on the left. The substition paid off. |
This one no be human being again o! |
