striktlymi: I wouldn't say mukina is wrong. It has been the tradition for mods to organize the year end awards. The award organized by Eze was a different program which the mod of the section supported.

I believe mukina spoke the mind of the Admin and when there is a need to deviate from any policy instituted by the Admin, it is only fair to let them be in the know from the word go. I guess that was the mistake I made and for this I apologise to everyone in the section. I didn't do my homework as I should have.

I am not happy that the project had to be abandoned half way but still if there is anyone to blame, then that individual should be me. I take full responsibility for everything. I have learnt the hard way.

So, not only was this thread legitimized and stickied by the mods here, mukina herself acknowledged the process and the importance thus her actions in keeping it proper. If she had any objections she should have said so.

What you should do is ask her to forward your request to Seun and seek other means of getting Seun's attention.

Afam4eva: As much as i don't see anything wrong in you speaking Yoruba to your son but if your husband has a problem with it, you have to discuss it with him and his words should be final. Yes, you heard me. The reason why he's the head of the family is because he reserves the right to make the final decision when there's a conflict. I also think you went into marriage with a wrong mentality which is to bring federal character into your marriage. If you love your husband soo much then you should learn his Esan and speak it to your child. I'm Yoruba n he's Esan from Edo state. He speaks yoruba very very fluently even better than me, he teaches me proverbs n all sometimes sef. But anytime I speak yoruba to our baby, he gets irritated kind of n says' my son is an Esan man, stop speaking yoruba to him'.

We had a major row over it this evening again. Don't I count in the boy's life? What's the biggie in him learning how to speak yoruba?
