Do data resellers really exist? Because what I know is that they're all a bunch of scammers. Send the money or airtime vouchers and you'll wait forever for the nonexistent data to hit your phone. |

We better tell people the truth so that if they can send us relief materials to help us defeat hunger they will do it. Strike, poverty hunger is everywhere here in osun Lshaasotf. Laughing so hard and accidentally shitting on the floor. This is epic, there is famine going on in osun and someone is out here lying through their teeth to score cheap points. |

Career › Re: Masters Or Stay On Job? by obinna2nv(m): 5:26pm On May 03, 2016 |
MsNas: Don't even try it. Lemme ask you a few questions.
1. Are you getting paid well? 2. Are you ready to forgo all the luxuries you're used to in Nigeria and start all over in Canada? 3. Your masters is not funded. Are you willing to use all your savings to fund your masters?
I live in the US and my husband is into Oil and Gas. I know for sure that the industry is not favorable right now and will not be favorable in the next 2-5 years. Just this last month, my husband's firm (and he works for one of the biggest in the US) laid off 50% of their workforce.
Yes, Canada is favorable because it's easier to get permanent residency, but getting a job is another issue. I know of a Nigerian-Canadian who is into Oil and gas and got offered a job with juicy remunerations in the US. He worked for a few months in the US and decided to quit and go back to Canada. Oil prices began to slump after he went back and he was on of the first ones to be let go. That was over a year ago and he is still in the market looking. I know not less than 3 Canadians (2 in my husband's office) are on H1 visa in the US because they found it hard to get jobs in Canada.
Second of all, to be candid, people in oil and gas in Nigeria make much more than those in the US or Canada. Yes, the ones in the US might make more on paper but by the time health insurance, 401K and taxes is taken, your counterparts in Nigeria take home more than you do...taxation is almost non existent in Nigeria anyways. After your masters, you may get a job but it might not be in the cadre of what you used to do in Nigeria and it might leave you unfulfilled as You already have a career in Nigeria. What you might get here might not be at par. It's easier for those who haven't had a career yet in Nigeria before moving
Third, you're lucky. You're so lucky. You mentioned that there has been several rounds of layoffs in your company but you survived. Means, they value you and consider you an asset. Continue like that and you might make managerial position in a few years. You have study leave coming up soon, why not wait until then?
Lastly, with your first class, you should not be paying out of pocket for any post-graduate degree. Several high ranking schools in the US will accept you in an heartbeat with full tuition waiver to boot! You will have recruiters coming to your school and from there you can score an internship which will eventually lead to a full time job provided you perform well. Have you even thought of online masters degree? There are several high ranking schools in the US who do that. Take your classes online and do your research on ground or whatever. Your diploma does not bear "Online Degree" it is awarded by the school itself.
Overall, the choice is yours to make. Best Damn advice you'll ever get. Some people have it so good, they foolishly fall into bad choices. Wait for your study leave bro, end of. |

Health › Re: Slipping In The Bathroom And Freemanan's Untimely Demise. by obinna2nv(op): 8:25am On May 02, 2016 |
niceeric: I wonder why a tiler who has common sense would use the kind of tiles as in the one pictured above for a bathroom floor..not a single grip, just plain smooth tiles in a constantly wet environment, smh
the need for sound building engineers to supervise building technicians during constructions cannot b over emphasised. My brother that is my bathroom, when I first saw it, I was so appalled, I raised alarm to the landlord but it was too late, these people don't care, I had to be scrubbing the floor at every interval and also keep it dry as much as possible. Until I build my own house, I have to be strict with the precautionary measures. |

Health › Slipping In The Bathroom And Freemanan's Untimely Demise. by obinna2nv(op): 8:05am On May 02, 2016 |
Its with a rude shock and sadness I woke up to receive the news of the death of one of nairaland's finest, Freeman David aka Freemanan, I was even more disconsolate when I learnt it was a preventable accident like a bathroom slip. Yes, it was an accident, but it is not a rare one, actually its quite a common domestic hazard and one of the numerous ways someone can at best obtain injuries which may at worst be fatal!! Its all sounding ignominious but do you know it can be prevented? Oh yes, walk over to your bathroom and check up how safe you've made it? Yes that bathtub should be removed, you may slip while using it or worst still you may drown, especially children, Whitney Houston Drowned in it. And then the flooring is it just mere tiles or frictional bathroom tiles? In this our tiles everywhere generation, we have to appreciate the dangers of a wet smooth tiles surfaces in and out of our bathrooms and replace them where possible and applicable with frictional tiles. Please also at all times keep the floors dry and clean. If you're in a rented apartment like me, and can't do anything about the bathroom floor, always wash the ground often to avoid slippery grime from soapy dirts building up, also avoid sudden movements while using the bathroom and if possible while navigating your tiled up house. With these safety measures, I think I've done Justice to this topic, and I dedicate it to the memory of our dearly departed Freeman, rest in peace brother. **crying *** |

Much traffic, I had to journey all the way to Poly Nekede campus, it was all tedious. Its so sad that, it still that way, FUTO with their pedigree could and should be doing better.. |

The mere sight of rochas there is enough to make me turn around and leave. By the way, ujoatuonu, has uche nwosu and his friends finished registering the various companies that will be taking over most of the state's institutions under the guise of 'investors' under the fake concessioning agreement as a result of Rochas govt inability to manage state owned resources and institutions. Whatever you do, do not Bypass, its illegal and when discovered you'll pay a bypass penalty plus loss of revenue. Here in PH, it can be up to 100k sanction! Since you've already paid for a new meter, when the old credit finishes, you can approach the Ekdc peeps for a legal bypass and reach an agreement how much you can be paying monthly pending when you meter is available. |
