You are largely right.
But,
Icheku, Velvet tamarind (Dialium cochinchinense) is from trees in the rainforest region. not a Northern Tree. it grows in my village in Enugu in abundance.
Eggplant is also not a crop with Northern Origins.

Birthing onboard a flight is big risk, what if she needed emergency surgery or other kind of care not available onboard that flight and which could put her life at risk. Nigerians should learn to do the right thing at the right time. This could potentially block this pathway for others. Spot on. there are things people do and they do know that they blocking the chances of people coming after them, but they still go ahead and do it. not nice |

Skydivine: In the East, 4 flats instead of detached twin duplex will be more money if you are considering rental.
Mutual fund might return up to 7-10% annually. Let’s do the calculation with $100k (#155M). Foreign mutual fund ( in dollars) is better to avoid devaluation of naira.
10% of #155M is #15 less tax #12M
Rent for 4 flats in developing area in Enugu or Owerri is an average of #700k yearly x 4 = .#2.8M
Land is not predictable. But averagely you must hold it up to 2 to 3 years to see significant return of about 30 -50 percent.
In every investment, there is always the risk of loss of money. In other words Mutual funds is the most likely option |

A quick question builders.
Build a twin detached duplex in Nigeria for rent (southeast) or use the money to purchase more lands or hold the money in a mutual fund while determining the economic and security situation of the country.
The funds for the building comes in monthly trickles

LinoBawse: Good morning my Nairaland people,
So I have an issue, it’s kinda unrelated to this thread but I believe I’ll get assistance here
After staying 2 years in an apartment, my rent expired exactly August 1st, 2024 and after expiry landlord reached out for his money and I politely told him I’ll be moving out and I need some time to secure a new place before parking my load out of his house, he then asked for how much time, I told him maximum by middle of September (next month) I should have gotten a new space. This man then told him I’ll have to pay him for 2 months that is august and September and I’m like how possible? I just told you I need some time to move my loads and you are asking me to pay? Okay I didn’t want to argue so I should stopped the conversation and left politely.
So my question now is, what should I do in this case? Please bear in mind that when I got this apartment, he collected legal fees and I was never given any agreement form to sign.
I honestly don’t want to pay him any dime. What can I do? How best can I approach this.
Thanks, I look forward to reading from you all.
Regards. Be advised that if the Landlord demands for times 10 of the normal house rent within the dates after August 1st, he is well within his rights to make that demand. The agreement you made terminated on August 1st, whether he gave you the signed agreement or not. If a tenant wishes to leave an apartment, the law stipulates that you tell your landlord in advance (I am no longer sure whether it is 2 or 3 months in advance). I fail to understand how you an adult will not let him know that you are leaving his house so that he will have time to put up the apartment up for checking by other potential tenant. As it stands, you have clearly devastated his financial projections. Let us normalize putting ourselves in others shoes, and reasoning whether our actions is fair or not. You need to pay him rent for the extra months you are going to be staying immediately, before he wizens up and tell you that the rent from August is in multiples of the current rent. Do not be a trouble maker. |

Babatiara: Hell All. Good job you are doing here. Please i would like to ask if it is generally better to fix doors and windows before plastering. Thank you. Depends. You could go ahead and do your plastering, but the plaster won't extend to the grooves for the door and window fittings. Then after plastering, you can fit them in. Or you can install the doors and windows and take care that they don't splatter cement on them during plastering |

Obinnau: You can apply and get your police character certificate from Nigeria without being physically present. Problem is that the certificate needs to be authenticated at ministry of foreign affairs, and then you bring it to brazil using courier. then send it to the Nigeria embassy in brazil for the consular letter and authentication (both will cost 300 reais) 2. 2 option: either the fathers name is not on the birth certificate before you even have a chance to apply for the passport or, the father is present and has his name on the birth certificate and both of you apply for the baby's passport together. the circumstance surrounding getting the passport in the absence of father is beauricratic and I do not fully understand it. you may need to consult the policia federal website. Getting the consular letter and a response from the Nigerian embassy will take you about 2 weeks, except you are willing to go personally to the embassy (1000 km away from sao paulo) and find a way to fast track it. in your condition of a recently delivered woman, it is difficult. so seriously reconsider your timeline. Give yourself 2 months in the country. |

Please oooo. Based on your insightful feedback, I have just 2 questions:
1. How possible is it to process my Police Character Certificate from Nigeria without being physically in Nigeria?
2. Since I am here alone, would I and the father be required to process a travel authorization for baby's passport before I can travel alone with the baby back to Nigeria.
Abeg make una come to my rescue oooo. Seems I'm getting more than I bargained for (positively anyway)

untamedd: Like someone rightly said, 3 weeks may not be enough. You need to be fast about it. You can get your birth certificate once you're out of the hospital and apply for RG and Passport immediately. They both can take at least 2 weeks to come out but you can't rule out delays.
That being said, getting a visa from Nigeria to come back to Brazil after you have given birth is almost impossible (maybe it's possible sha) but i don't know anyone who has done it successfully. I know people who were refused based on that. They check and know you came to birth and choose not to grant it. The best thing you can do is apply for your PR, the rest of your family can apply for theirs later without mentioning you in their application.
You can submit your PR application once baby's RG is out, do a power of attorney for a friend or lawyer here to get it for you and send to Nigeria once it's done. eh even as a mother of a Brazilian, they can decide to deny one a visa? |

IderadeAratumi: Thanks to everyone who took time to answer my questions.
I arrived last week, and everything is going on fine as planned. Although I didn't plan to apply for my PR this time around. I am here alone so I intend to travel back 3 weeks after delivery and for my family and I to return here sometime next year for the PR processing. This trip is just to birth my baby and collect the passport.
Thanks to you all for your insight. 3 weeks after delivery may not be enough. You have to plan for the delay in getting your baby's birth certificate and the delay in getting the passport. |
