what make of panels are this and what wattage

ask4bk:
The panels are even too much. Every day before 10:30am battery is fully charged from what was used at night. Even yesterday when there was no strong sun but cloud, it was giving 2.4kwh at 9am

I can attest to this, Valto is so different, hardly will you get people do business with open mind. He is always ready to answer your questions even if it sounds dumb. With him, there are no stupid questions, if it were to be some other persons they will block you or not respond at all.

SourYoghurt:
I can't agree less.
Bought from him, even paid in installments, he still answer my dumb question even to this day.

Does that panel generation charge your battery fully every day. Even in bad weather do it get to 100% or what range does it get to.

ask4bk:
I use same consumption as you, yet I use 14kwh lithium battery and 4400w solar panels, and 5kva inverter.
Na your money go determine wetin you go use
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by obitobe: 5:27pm On Oct 31, 2024
why you should not charge up to 14.6v, there is little or no gain. Best advisable range is 13.7-13.8v.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0cYky8Axns&t=268s

Dam5reey1:
You point are off Topic, Can I use 14.6V on a well Built pack is well balanced at the top with low Deviation?

Stop adding errors from inverter and all.

The battery i tested all have 3.65V and BMS is active and there is no issue so far because I am using it.

Wether there is 0 gain or thats another topic.

please if money is not your problem then go for Pylontech and leave Felicity alone. Pylontech is more quality than felicity in terms of their cells.

Dageek:
Hello great people, I have been following this thread for a while, took my time to read through existing pages and was able to extract some information, but I’m really locked in between choosing battery.

Based on my power requirements, I would need at least 10kwh battery, this means the pylontech battery of that capacity will cost 4 million plus while felicity 15kwh (13kwh real capacity) will cost more less

This is not my first solar system, I have a 3.5kva 24v system with 2 flooded batteries and 8 x 300w Siemens panels, my plan is to upgrade to a bigger system using Deye 6kw from odyssey, 12 x 555w jinko panels from Fouani , Felicity battery from Naira lander here or Pylontech from Fouani

I would like to seek advise from people who have already used or installed either the Pylontech or felicity of that capacity, which one to choose considering durability, performance and ease of use.

Furthermore, I don’t want to use custom coupled battery because most of these batteries don’t offer communication port which is essential for the system I’m trying to build

Gshems:
The 320 watt is KBC
. The 580 I am planning on getting is jinko 580
Please for the love of your peace of mind, get rid of that KBC panel, that might be a 100w panel and the labelling is so wrong, full of mistakes. please just get the original jinko panels from recognised dealers.

This dashboard from Bigrovar https://energy.openculture.org.ng/dashboard/view?id=49 will answer all your questions

ask4bk:
Bro, I really love that you can remotely see your setup and consumption online. I've been watching your dashboard since yesterday like I de watch big brother Nigeria.

I'm curious to know... What's the lithium battery size you are using now?
What's the total amount of solar panels you are using and brand? I'm surprised that at early morning with cloudy weather you already getting 3.6kwh from panels.
What is giving out this info we see on your dashboard? The inverter? Or something else you added to your installation? What brand? Connected to Internet?

Sorry, too much questions. Pls help me answer the ones you can. Thanks bro

Drgreatone:
Is the 300-700w consumption per hour or throughout the day?
For the size of ur battery, I'd suggest minimum of 5000w of panels (Most tier 1 panels do x2 of their ratings averagely, can do more longer sun exposure)
NB: Ur ivem is rated for max 6000w panels and a VOC of 450v i think. 9pcs of 560w panels wud already be close to the voc
The 300w-700W is consumed between 8am- 4pm and from then it is around 150w -200w till the next dy 8am.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by obitobe: 8:28am On Oct 18, 2024
Please just a quick question, I just got a 14.336kwh lithium battery and I want to know will my 3.6kwp panel charge the battery full. If not, please can someone help with how many 560w (voc=50.67 Isc= 14.13 Vmp=41.95 Imp=13.35) half cut panels that might require to charge this battery full daily. Please note that I run a load of 300-700w during the day depending on the weather. Also I use a Felicity IVEM 5KVA inverter and also I really want to do away with running my generator.

Please i will be reading for your response

Good evening house

I recently installed 6 300W panel and I noticed the installer connected all panels in parallel, also he used a 4mm flex instead of 6mm.

A friend of mine came and told me everything the installer did is wrong.

Please could this be true?
That 4mm is too small for the level of current that will flow through it. Please call the installer to change the cable to a minium of 6mm
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by obitobe: 11:39am On Sep 08, 2024
What make and wattage of panels are you using please

Ijeoma660:
This week we got news that we have finally been dumped on Bandit A.

I immediately removed some of the few things still left og EKEDC to inverter.

1. Electric boiler - moved
2. Microwave - moved
3. Outdoor security lights - Pending when electrician comes
4. Washing machine - partially. I use extension box.

Observation.
-So far so good, its going well.
- I recorded harvest peak at 3.3kW for the first time too.
- My solar panels are split in two separate locations. The ground mounted has started seeing better radiation.

Connect the panels in series but before it is connected to the inverter, the installer should check the final voltage. what you should be getting is meant to be around 400v.

6mm cable is good

Please I need solar configuration idea

I have

12 pieces of 300watt Canadian solar panels
5kwh lithium battery
4.2kva SMS hybrid inverter (about 500vdc over input)

Should I just allow them connect all the panels in series? Also will a 6mm solar cable be ok?

Why don't you go 48v and get the 5kva for future proof.

I have added another 5kwh to my setup to enable ne have 1 day autonomy. I alao have a timer switch for my freezer. Previously when I had only 5kwh battery installed It switches on the freezer by

On 8.30am and
Off 5.30pm

Based on this arrangement by morning my battery is about 35% (5kwh)

But after adding another 5kWh making a total of 10kWh battery. I did a calculation and arrived at the on/off times for the freezer

On 6am and
Off 11pm

By morning my battery's percentage is at +/- 60% (10kWh)

If it happens to be a cloudy weather I cam go on without the need for grid dependency.

This way i don't worry anyone with switching off the lights when not in use etc...

Mine has same issue as. Initially my batteries were balanced but after some months I noticed significant drift. Mixed up the batteries but same thing.

I fear I may have broken the equalizer during reconnection or I need to reset the equalizer.

Either way, my schedule hasn't allowed me to work on the bank again.
What type of balancer do you have?

With the individual battery voltage u shared, nothing is actually wrong with ur system, u only need to add/install a battery equaliser/balancer to ur system n everything will be fine. Ur 48volt inverter will continue to run provided that the battery voltage is still above 10.5v per piece, once the inverter detects a voltage drop of below 10.50v it would off itself... ur installer ought to have equalised the battery before installing them though
Thank you for your response, i have battery equalizer installed to the batteries and also the system is a 24 voltage system. I thought my batteries were already getting weak.

Please i need expert knowledge here, i have four 220ah tubular battery, i just noticed that when the battery is fully charge and i start using it for the night, @136w(5pm-10pm) and 98w ( 10pm -7am). i noticed that the battery will be 24.2v @2-3am then between 3-4am the battery voltage drops to 23.4v and this will get me to the morning. Recently i had to set the battery SOC from 50% to 70% because at 50% the battery goes off at 5-5:30am but at 70% it takes me till the morning. What could be causing the sharp drop in voltage.

With a battery monitor, i am getting this readings in the morning Batt 1: 11.95v Batt 2: 10.99v batt 3: 10.95v Batt 4: 11.94v

Good evening

Please I have this kind of configuration setup in my apartment

5kva 24v Inveter
400Watts Solar panels (5)
220ah battery (2)
60amps charger

My question is whenever I try charging with Nepa light o shows it fully charged within few minutes but when it’s on resting stage meaning when it not connect to any form of charge and I check the battery I get 77% even while on solar it shows it fully charged but at the end of the day I see 75% please how can I get it charged to 100% or should I just ignore the fact that it say fully charged and continue charging please any help would be appreciated. Thank you 🙏🏾
please answer this questions

1. what is the battery voltage when is shows 100%
2. what is the Voc of your Charge controller.
3. how was the panels connected, in series, parallel or mixed.
4. what is the panel Voc.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by obitobe: 11:25am On Apr 14, 2024
Dam5reey:
You are using a good Batteriy chemistry that allows charging up to 0.5C continuously.
60A on a 173AH batteries is 60/173C that is 0.35C.. So you are fine.

Also note, since the charge controller is limited to 60A If you have inverte powered on, most people tend to use their Fridge during peak periods, so, in essence, your 60A is reduced to about 40A (or less depending on load), left to charge the batteries, so Not all 60A will charge the batteries except you always shut down inverter to charge which may not be the case.
Expect the MPPT charge controller is bad it will always limit the current to what is required to charge the batteries when you turn the inverter off.

the VOC for the charge controller,
the PV operating voltage for the charge controller,
the Vmp for the panels and
