Is there any EKSUite in the house here? A friend of mine wants to apply for medicine at EKSU in this year's cycle.

But I recently learnt that their medicine class of 2018 is just resuming 400L. That's nearly 6 years of being in school and they're just starting 400L. I'm wondering why the calendar seems so slow or is that a one-off event due to their previous accreditation issues?

Is the medical programme there fast now? Since they've solved their accreditation issues. Would he be feasible to say the friend can graduate in 7-8 years if they get admitted to study medicine there?

Sincere advice from any EKSUite or anyone that knows EKSU well enough would be appreciated.

No. It's a Verizon unlocked phone. Try downloading "5g Switch - Force 5G Only" from the Play store.
Once opened click your android type and select the network type. It may do the trick.

Okay, thanks fam. Will try this

And it's Verizon branded

The phone seems to work fine with my MTN SiM
but the network connection switch is greyed out.

I can only use automatic at the moment. There's no option to switch to either 5G or 4G manually.

Is there a chance that it's verizon unlocked but it wasn't done properly?

Please y'all know any affordable private school that'll accept a 300L student from another school into 400L?

Or any state university that'll accept transfer to 300L. Just wrote my MB and want to transfer from my school.

Any info about Gombe State Uni, Uniabuja, Bayelsa State Uni, UNN, Unilorin, FULokoja, FUHSA and others?

So it is because of accreditation issue. I thought it is because of their school fee. Their school fee was increased some months ago.

Mainly increased school fees & overpopulation. No clear path to resolving the current issues.

I doubt if any school allows interuniversity transfer into 300L. If at all, there is anything like interuniversity transfer, you may start from 200L.

I don't know much about this, so I can't really say

There are many. Just mostly private. Problem is they're often too expensive. Just trying to broaden my options.

Please, anyone knows any university that accepts inter university transfers into 300L?

Private, State or Federal. Affordable, even if it's new.

Preferably less than 2m school fees.

I'm gathering info on schools with relaxed interuniversity transfer policy. Like UNIMED, David Umahi Federal University, Bayelsa Medical University, etc. But I need more options.

Unimed accepts inter Uni transfers but you will be starting all over from 200L.

What I’m not sure of is if you will be allowed to join the current 200L as the new students ( D.E, Utme and transfers) have matriculated and the school is almost done with her first semester.

Also the current 200L will be writing their incourse next month but you can visit the school and find out yourself…..

Alright. I'm planning to visit the school soon but I'm not sure how soon I'll be able to. Hence why I'm trying to gather information online. If I'll be allowed to join the current 200L, I think I'll be okay with that.

Also, if you're a current unimed student, I'll really appreciate getting your contact

Why do you want to go through the stress of transferring to a school with partial accreditation? Irrespective of the factors involved, give it a good thought.

It's a new school. So yeah, partial accreditation is normal until they've graduated their first set.

Even my school's not free from accreditation issues

I've been thinking of transfering to unimed, ondo

I'd like to know if anyone has successfully transferred to unimed from another university, especially for MBBS.

And since I'm in 300L, will I be starting 200L again?

Or if I start the transfer process now, will I have to wait till another session to join the new 200L or will I be allowed to join the current 200L?

Jobs/Vacancies / Has Anyone Tried To Change Phone Number Attached To NIN Before? by Obton(m): 1:30pm On Feb 15, 2022
I've been trying to get the phone number attached to my NIN changed so that I'll be able to log in to the NIMC mobile app and apply for a NIN card.

The number currently attached is no longer accessible to me and I can't retrieve it.

I went to the NIN office at the Local Government Secretariat at Asaba and paid around #600 to do the change since Jan 12 but it's still not reflected up till now.

The app still shows the former number and doesn't recognize the current one.

I've gone to the office to complain two weeks ago (Feb 7) and I was given the original slip and told it'll reflect within a few more days. They collected my details saying they'll have to do an "accreditation" of sorts.

Up till now, the change still hasn't reflected and I'm currently not in Asaba. I'm getting kinda frustrated as some NIN offices I went to within my current location (Ekpoma, Edo state) were asking for around 10k to "hasten" the change.

Has anyone else had an experience with change of number? How long did it take?

Technology Market / Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Obton(m): 8:44pm On Sep 21, 2021
Hello house,

So after countless research and enquiries, I finally bought this Maxmech RWD-3800 generator, with 2.0KW (2.5KVA) rated output.

It was actually on a second thought, as my initial plan was a Thermocool or Firman gen. But the ones around that size were way too expensive for my budget. I know the usual skepticism around newer models but I made sure to gather a lot of info from current users of this particular product before going ahead.

I want to try and do something which I wish other users did more on this thread, which is giving a review of usage over time + any major events that happens with the gen so other users can get an idea of how the product is.

So, I turned on the generator for the first time today after doing the usual. Fueled it with just 3 litres (since I'll be heading back to school with the gen soon). I didn't give myself too much headache with engine oil, just bought a Total 20W50. My dad mistakenly overfilled the oil tank but it didn't produce any smoke.

The sound is unbelievably low & very tolerable even in close range. (although it's basically only running two energy saving bulbs right now).

Closely monitoring the fuel consumption now to get an estimate but it seems okay so far.

I've made sure to go through the manual and follow the instructions carefully so let's hope the gen really serves over time with appropriate maintenance.

House what do y'all think about Tigmax generators. Their brand seems way cheaper than others for the same KVA rating. I'm seeing around 90-105k for the 4.5kva manual starter online.

Is it worth going for this brand?

Lemme add that my aunt's been using one for over 4 years now. It's serving well but she's had to change half engine so far. I think earlier this year.
Technology Market / Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Obton(m): 4:13pm On Sep 11, 2021
Gptech:

You have to actually reduce the speed to achieve that.

Good evening boss. So I followed through with your instructions. Even changed the engine oil. But the loud chattering noise still remained. Engineer later came and said both the smoke and sound where due to a damaged crankshaft and I'd need like 13k to fix everything.

Omo, I don go return the gen laikdis. I nor fit for stress in the name of cheap stuff. grin
The gen even seemed badly maintained cos the engine oil was practically dry before I changed it.

Planning to get to Benin soon to just buy a brand new Thermocool junior. smiley

Gptech:

You should have gone with an engineer to check it for you. At that price, some parts may have been replaced hence the noise and smoke. Try reducing the running speed a bit if the noise with decrease

Oh, I haven't really finished up with the transaction. An engineer is supposed to come check it this afternoon and then I'll send the full amount.

Lemme see if I reducing the speed improves the sound.

Hi boss Gptech. What do you think about this fairly used gen going for 20k?

It's a lutian 1800s with 1.0 kva rated output (Basically I better pass my neighbor with better design?) Would it be able to power one TV, small table top fridge, ceiling fan, standing fan, home theatre system and laptop?

Everything will never be on at the same time tho.

Hello boss Gptech. So I've gotten this lutian 1.0kva gen. Seems to be working fine. Only problem is the excessive noise. Like it's really intolerably loud. And it smokes a lot. I'm suspecting the smoke is just too much engine oil though. But is there anything I can do about the noise?

And what else should I be checking for in the gen to confirm it's in good condition?

Not worth it! The shipping fee alone will cost more than the generator and many of the generators sold there are generic.

Technology Market / Re: Professor On Any Type Of Generator. by Obton(m): 8:19pm On Sep 06, 2021
Hello house. Apologies for the length of this. I'm a student with the following appliances:

Home theatre system
Infinix 32'' Inch TV
Small tabletop fridge
One ceiling fan
One standing fan
One PS4 Console
Laptop
Phone/power bank

So I came across an Elepaq constant with 1.3kw rated output. (Picture shown below). It seems from checks online it's equivalent to 1.2kv rated; don't really get the discrepancy since 1.3kw should be equal to 1.6KVA?

So question is, would this be able to power my stuffs without hiccups? Everything won't be on at the same time tho (Like the PS4 and fridge would never be turned on at the same time). I don't even think I'd need it for the fridge since we do have relatively regular power supply. Just need the gen in case of periods of prolonged outages and for my laptop to be constantly charged.

I don't really trust the Elepaq I'm intending to get though given complaints I've read on this thread about brand new Elepaqs becoming faulty within a few days and the price is much more less than Jumia/Konga. (~68k as opposed to ~74-89k online)

I'd have just shelled out some extra cash for the Thermocool TEC junior but there's no reliable Thermocool licensed dealer around (nearest one's in Benin) and getting it from there and shipping down to Ekpoma would be a lot of stress + added costs.

So, should I just bear go through the stress of getting it or would the Elepaq be a reliable alternative?

How about the Senwei 1.8KVA manual starter?

Or is there any other better alternative in the 1.2-2KVA range?
