from one perspective... I call it wickedness because she might have known her status but selfishness didn't let her tell her husband before and after they got married... on the other hand the doctor would have verified from the Lady while treating her if her spouse knew, just in case he ask...that would have been more professional than jumping into spilling such sensitive information. |

Rivers State and their Politics, I just pray that those innocent ad hoc staff, electorates and observers would not loose their life come 11th. On the Contrary, it is going to be a little bit difficult for Wike to win since his mentor and mother is going out of government though i foresee sentimental electorates who would want to vote Wike because GEJ lost. But there are three major political parties in the state, you might try considering others if you feel one shouldn't win because of their presidential out comes. VOTE for Prospects and character and not political party and propaganda builders 1 Like |

Crime / Suspect Who Partook In Ondo Bank Robbery ─ Police by obumkeke(m): 6:46am On Apr 02, 2015 |
The Edo State Police Command on Wednesday paraded one Mr. Etopa Sadiq, suspected to have taken part in last Thursday’s bank robbery in Owo, Ondo State. correspondents had on March 26 reported that the robbers attacked four commercial banks, killing some persons. The robbers were also said to have carted away cash, arms and ammunition. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Samuel Adegbuyi, who paraded the suspect at the state police headquartres in Benin, explained that the 35-year-old man was arrested after a gun battle with officers of the command, following information that the suspected robbers had fled to Ibilo in the Akoko Edo Local Government Area of the state. “After the robbery, the hoodlums headed towards Ibilo in Edo State, where operatives of the command intercepted them in a gun battle which made some of them to flee, while Etopa Sadiq was arrested. “Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects,” Adegbuyi said. Items said to have been recovered from the scene included seven AK47 riffles, three riot gunners, two SMG guns, two Lar riffles, four TO6 riffles, one Scorpion riffle, one Berretta riffle, Chief Revolver pistol, two pump action guns and one Tasser riffle. Others were 23 tear gas canisters, a police ID card belonging to one Constable Akomolafe Andrew, a pair of police uniform, three police crash helmets, and a Permanent Voter Card belonging to one Tobi Ojo. But the suspect, who hails from Kogi State, denied involvement in the robbery, alleging that he was shot by robbers and arrested by policemen on patrol, while on his way to Okene for local treatment. Sadiq said, “I was shot by armed robbers. As I was riding my motorcycle to pick my family, I heard gunshots and I was shot in the hand. “Some people rushed me to Adelabu Hospital in Owo and I was told that I had a fractured bone. “So, I told them that I wanted to visit a native doctor in my town in Okene (Kogi). “I was later discharged from the hospital. I was on my way to Okene when some policemen on the road stopped me. I opened the wound and told them that I was shot by armed robbers, but they told me to follow them to the police station. So, they brought me here; I’m not an armed robber.” http://www.punchng.com/metro-plus/suspect-partook-in-ondo-bank-robbery-%E2%94%80-police/

Health / Sugar Can Damage Your Teeth, Gums by obumkeke(m): 6:28am On Apr 02, 2015 |
Some foods we eat invite tooth decay and gum diseases. One of them is the sugar we eat in our meals and fizzy drinks and sodas that accompany most people’s meals these days. According to experts, sugar is at the root of many dental caries and cavities. Consultant Dentist, Dr. Olabode Ijarogbe, says sugar, especially those from starchy foods and carbonated drinks, plays a harmful role in tooth decay. According to him, debris from sugary foods often hides in the gums, and if not removed via brushing, can clog the teeth and gums, leading to dental decay. Ijarogbe says, “Normally, we have bacteria in our mouth. The bacteria works on this refined sugar to produce a dilute acid, which results in dissolution of hard tooth tissue. Each time we take much of the high-refined sugar, it remains as substrate at different corners in our mouth and then the bacteria in our mouth feeds on it to cause havoc. “Sometimes, it also results in swollen gum, which bleeds each time you touch it.” He notes that tooth decay is not a minor health challenge, as it can degenerate to form abscess in the gums. You could lose your tooth by eating sugar regularly. Ijarogbe explains that sugar from foods and drinks produces acids that dissolve, damage the teeth and loosen the gums, making it easier for the tooth to fall off. Experts say as much as we can, we should resist snacking in-between meals. Professor of Restorative Dentistry, Segun Akpata, notes that the residues of these snacks could form bacteria which attack the teeth and gums. Akpata states, “To avoid tooth decay, one must watch the nature of food that one eats. We have to control the level of sugar, sweets, chocolates and cakes we eat by reducing snacking in-between meals. “Dental care is not just about brushing the teeth. Oral hygiene is important to prevent cancer of the mouth, too. Smoking, tobacco chewing and alcohol consumption are lifestyle choices we should avoid in order to prevent oral cancer and tooth decay.” Full details at http://www.punchng.com/health/healthwise/sugar-can-damage-your-teeth-gums/

In same vain, I think one bad part of GEJ was that his advisers outlined strategies in campaigning, one of such i think is the fighting of Boko Haram. To this extent, GEJ started fighting at the last minute, to score more political goals. The question is,"has there been any new force apart from the same neighboring countries who have been having series of meeting in combating boko haram?" No, Nigeria was at liberty in joining forces right from when she saw that BH was not in the habit of negotiating unlike the south south militants... Let us watch this CHANGE Administration and see what they produce. 9 Likes |

GMB right from his campaign days has been emphasizing on re-branding the military. According to him the military troops was demoralized in fighting the war against Boko Haram. My own opinion is, they say charity begin at home, yes he has had the background of a soldier, he has led the country as a Head of State, he has also played politics up till now, would he achieve this promise? Considering the fact they(BH) have pledged allegiance to ISIS and ISIS acknowledged in return. The president-elect should better start now fighting back before this cancer (B.H) spread throughout the entire country. 10 Likes 3 Shares |
Politics / Abians Don’t Need Gov Orji’s Puppet by obumkeke(m): 5:32am On Apr 02, 2015 |
As the countdown to April 2015 governorship elections draws near, many people in Abia State, including some governorship aspirants, are decamping to All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in solidarity with Dr. Alex Otti, who is seen as a liberator of the state from the shackles of bad governance. Since 1999, Abia State had been governed by two political parties. The PPA and PDP respectively. Yet the people did not see any distinction. Governor T.A Orji’s unwarranted exit from a party that made him governor, speaks volume of a man that cannot be trusted. His defection to APGA first and then PDP, crippled the economy of Abia State. For instance, promises the Governor willingly made to Abians are no longer realisable. That was exactly the way he made his pronouncements to the good people of Abia. Orji said he would start and complete a new Government House before the end of his tenure. He will start and finish one of the best airports in the country for Abians. He said Golden Guinea Brewery would resume production before he leaves office. T.A Orji also boasted to Abians that he would build a coliseum on the old market site in Umuahia and Shoprite will commence operation before 2014. Those were his promises. Comparing these little projects, which he willingly chose to do, with what the APGA governor in Anambra State is doing, in less than one year in office, one can see that Abia projects have become white elephants. Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State is showcasing what will be replicated in Abia State, when the APGA candidate Dr. Alex Otti, becomes governor of the state. In less than one year in office, Governor Obiano is constructing an airport for Anambra State while Abia State Airport project is still on the drawing board. Abia State is the only state in the whole South- East that cannot bid to host a national sports festival. Reason, no befitting stadium; yet the state has two premier football clubs. Aba infrastructure and roads are better seen than describe. The governor’s praise singers are always quick to point at the movement of Umuahia main market to Ubani, as his greatest achievement. Yes we agree, but what matters most to Abians is the aftermath. Judging Ochendo Global, with his counterparts in Akwa Ibom and Delta states, shows that Abia as an oil producing state, has remained backward and Abians impoverished by irregular payment of salaries and pension. The people of Abia State will not accept any successor from Governor T.A Orji that will entrench his catastrophic regime on the state again. This doyen of our time, Dr. Alex Otti, is not comparable to other aspirants, for Abia people are tired of deceit, misrule and financial recklessness. The Governor likes to be called Ochendo Global. Abia people cannot factor if the Global means: Global Success or Global failure. The people of Abia State are rooting for Otti, who they see as an upright, well-educated, tested and trusted man, who will govern with the fear of God. Therefore, Abia needs Otti as their governor. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=112316 |
Politics / We Will Crush BOKO HARAM Within Two Months - Buhari by obumkeke(m): 5:26am On Apr 02, 2015 |
President –Elect, Mu h amm a du Buhari has reassured that his administration will crush the Boko Haram militants within two months of his assuming office. General Buhari spoke yesterday evening during an interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN, monitored in Lagos. He said there is insecurity in the north-east and in the Niger Delta regions just as he explains “we know how they started and where they are now and we will rapidly give attention to security in the country. And I believe we will effectively deal with them in two months when we get into office.” He said the Federal Government made some mistakes in its fight against Boko Haram and his administration will addressed the issues. Buhari however stressed the importance of the support and assistance of Nigeria’s neighbours: Niger, Cameroon and Chad to help checkmate the militants. “We will be needing the cooperation of neighbouring countries such as Cameroon, Chad and Niger. There were efforts made by the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, but it was not good enough and it came rather late,” he said. But where did the Jonathan administration go wrong. Buhari drew attention to the poor showing of the Nigerian military in the fight against Boko Haram and explained thus: “We expected the Federal Government four years ago to sit down with these countries and make sure they do not allow the terrorists free movement across borders, training facilities and movement of weapons. “These were only done a few months ago and we have seen how Cameroon, Chad and Niger are fighting Boko Haram more than Nigeria is doing until recently. Really we have seen enough and we have enough law enforcement to face Boko Haram squarely.” Buhari is confident that under his government, the Nigeria Army will perform differently. He also said the performance of the military was affected by corruption in the system. “They will…if you recall, the Nigerian soldiers out of all ethical expectations were granting interviews to foreign journalists, saying they were being sent to fight terrorists without proper weapons “And then the National Assembly attempted to conduct a hearing to find out how much money was approved for training and weapon in the last three years but that hearing was scuttled by the administration.” http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=112327 20 Likes 5 Shares |

Politics / Re: I Have Fulfilled My Promise On Power Sector – Jonathan by obumkeke(m): 6:50am On Feb 21, 2015 |
seunfly: He did promise, His problem is that he is that there are powers that be which wont let him achieve what he earlier promised. That i think is his problem. As for improvements, I no there are certain areas that have not experienced power for a long time, despite that, there are still areas enjoying constant power supply, (though not 100% constant). So i would say there has been an improvement. |
