GboyegaD: Whatever is worth doing should be done rightly. Instead of learning to sign his signature even with his consent, why not save yourself some hassle and free his mind of stress that you may forge it again in the future by sending the documents to him to sign and him sending it back to you? Also, I would recommend you talk to the school's International Admission Office explaining your challenge to them and I can assure you they sure would accept the scanned documents for admission.

Theyjih: Dude irrespektive of his locatn around the world, all he needs is a scanner and VOILA! ur probs is solved. send the pdf copy to him, he can fill 'em out print, sign and scan.. then forward the scanned copy over to you SImple! as for DHL, imho, y not save a couple bucks use fedex (within 72 hrs ur package shld b in the state, xcept in the case of severe weather condition), they seem to b d best as for international mail esp. US terrain my 2 cents!

Scanning may not work as recommended by someone. The school will like everything in fresh stamp and ink. If your dad stays very far from you now. Call him to tell you how he signs. You can even use any video chat service like skype to see how he signs. Then Sign the documents. I won't really call this forge since it is with your dad's consent.

But, another gud option, if you cant still wait for ur dad and he's also skeptical in teaching you how he signs (cos some children bad, not you), then Courier your documents to wherever your dad is, let him sign and return.This will be expensive and take like 6working days.

lmao.....i'm nt quite certain sha, i only used gumption. I ws expectin mail frm yankee via nipost, i kept checkin my mail box outside my haus evryday 4 gud 5wks nd it ws completely empty, it ws on d sixth wk i went to check nd i discoverd d mail box no close wel so i went closer to knw y. As i open d box, c as mail yakpaa inside, some even dey fall come outside. It wsnt jst my mail dt ws there, al of dem my neighbour wey dey expect mail tey-tey na den d mail reach us. In conclusion dem postal service waited 4 mail going to a particular location to get bulky b4 sendin it, nt necessarily d same cmpound bt maybe d same street or area.

imperiouxx: As at last year March-May, EMS (N5,500) took 7 days to reach US while the fastest I got for registered mails (N1,500) is 14 days...... 14 days I mean is 10 business working days. If you send on Wednesday this week, your mail waits till next Tuesday before it begins its journey. If you guys can't wait that long and it's urgent, then why can't you send through 3 days courier service and spear yourself this long story. Fedex (N8,600) took my doc 3 days and worth the money and I used them twice. If you need the admission so much, then how much is the money?



I mean to say 14 to 21 days i.e 10 to 15 working days. And if it got there on 10 working days, count yourself luck. On their site, they say EMS takes 3 days but it's a big lie. I have used it and each got there in 7 good days. Your mail may actually travel for 8 working days but what about the days it's been sitting in the NIPOST office (you can't tell me they carry only your mail the same day or the next) and up to 48 working hours it will spend within US before delivery?

phy: All my mails took less than two weeks. I sent docs both to schools on the east and west. I think they have something like priority or special mail (I cant remember the exact word). It was far cheaper than others.

bigfrancis21: UPS, Fedex and DHL are all efficient. Fedex is cheaper than DHL and i've used fedex before to send transcripts from UNN to canada and they got delivered. Go for fedex. Last time I checked (last month) the fee was about N9600.

phy: As a plan C: I dont know this'obusco4lyfe' but I've read several of his posts about sending his docs. My point is this - I'll like suggest that if there's any of you guys that got your visas and will be traveling shortly, you may just be able to give him a helping hand. All you need do is to help him post from the US. Trust on either side is salient.

deevick246: I can understand your plight. You see, the nipost tracking update does not reflect in most case the correct location of the parcel. Since u said you called usps and nipost and they confirm its already there in the US, I can only but advice you to exercise some more patient and also please support it with prayers.

If you don't mind, where is the destination of the parcel? I seriously feel the destination of the parcel plays a pivotal role in the delivery time frame. Also, at times the present unforeseen circumstance can also casue a delay. Like the news of Hurricane Isaac coming up in Florida and New Orleans, do you think the parcel will not experience delay if it was heading to the same destination where the Hurricane is also heading?

@deevick i checkd d link u gave me nd trackd my doc, it dint say anytin reasonabu. It only said 'processing sort Nigeria' nd it also said 'origin post is preparing shipment'. What does it mean? The funny thing was that this same guy that interviewed me today was the one I was praying not to interview me the last time cos he was just bouncing guys anyhow...

Me: I wish to go the US for my graduate studies in OE in this university. I'm also on a study leave from the coy where I work. (I repeated the last one so he could hear. This was my strategy to give him everything he needs at a go)

Me: Yes ( he was looking at the screen for too long this made me feel slightly uncomfortable)

Me: (emphatic) No because it is not required for the course but I wrote TOEFL and I have a waiver for the GRE. (he did not bother to ask for it)

Me: (passed it to him and he just glanced through it. I was scared here cos, even tho he is really my dad, he used his father's name as surname in this account therefore our surnames are diff.)

Dude: started typing on the screen for like 30s. (I was just praying inside) He even asked if I would be attending that Prof's class jokingly, cos he is a celebrity over there. This was where I knew I would get it lol. Finally he tore the pickup ticket and told me to pick it up on Tuesday and make sure I resume on 5th Sept.
I just gave a very big smile and said 'thank you'. I even asked 'would that be all?' and he said yes.

He only asked for my account statement. I just give all the glory to God. Even the study leave letter that I drafted myself with letterhead paper of my company he did not ask lol.
